Eco Friendly - Off Grid Home : Solar, Rainwater Harvesting , Bio-gas , Solar Cooking and Cool Roof

- This project shows almost all the simple technologies that we are working on . This also shows that it is is pretty simple to live comfortably off the grid.
The home has the following ;
1. Complete Off the grid solar power running all the electrical appliances 24 x 7.
2. A Bio gas plant for converting the household waste into useful cooking gas and liquid fertilizer.
3. A solar cooker for making rice and dal during summers.
4. An open well that meets the entire water requirement for the house throughout the year.
5. The roof is painted to increase the efficiency of the solar panels, to keep the home cool and to increase the rainwater run off.
All the above are simple and pretty easy to implement and use.
With the help of all these simple technical interventions and some small lifestyle changes , the entire home now is independent of the public utility grid for energy and water . A family of 4 lives here comfortably off the grid .

Agar ONGRID system ki generation bandh karni ho toh kya Saare Solar Panels ko cover karna hai ?

is AC also working on off grid system??
Only 1 AC can be used with 3.2 kw solar system.You need to turn off other heavy material like oven,grinder,washing machine while using AC.He mentioned it’s an Hybrid system so that family definitely using regular Electricity from Grid
For a house that size and the load, the solar plant is woefully under powered. This cannot be an off-grid setup. If they run two ACs, the battery backup during the night is not sufficient cause remember you can only drain 50% of the lead acids, even if they are deep discharge. I am sure they are using grid at night and during cloudy days.
AC is being used only for a few weeks in a year . Also Only one AC is being used . The other is a non inverter AC and is on the grid.
If you don't use AC then this system is more than enough that's why they don't connect 1 kw and keep as backup.
AC is an energy hog but if you use Dai kin 5* AC then you can run ac in econo mode where ac 1.2 kw 1 ton will run at 50% power but consume ONLY 25% energy that is 333 watthours meaning 0.33 kwh/unit !

He already mentioned it’s an Hybrid system so definitely they’re using electricity from the grid
He has only written hybrid inverter in the specs. But his title and description, all talks about off grid and how they are not dependent on grid. This is typical overstatement and clearly misguides the viewers.

I am planning to renovate my home next year. Would it be possible for you to implement all these things in Haldwani Uttarakhand?
Everything is possible. All you need is money. Setting up your home to be fully off-grid requires a huge amount of upfront investment but you save money in the long run.
I live in the hills of Uttarakhand and wish to go fully off-grid in future. For now, I only have rainwater harvesting setup and don't have any water connection. I plan to implement solar panels very soon and cut my grid connection if everything goes well for a year or two.
I don't understand why bio gas.. when the gas needs can be completed using solar via induction or infra cooktops. I do the same thing even geysers can be used to heat water day and night using electrical part of the solar energy
1. Induction plates are not efficient.
2. Bio gas digester is more to manage waste and the slurry output is used as nutrition for plants
How many KW is your solar system and also is your water heater AC or DC?
