I've just read about you on the BBC, Angela, and then watched your talk. You are amazing and encouraging. And very brave. Thank you for sharing your story.
This is one of the most underrated TED talks ever. She lives an embodied life...Thank You, for sharing your walk with us Angela. You are an incredible human heart.
Angela you just inpired me to have hope again. I haven't felt joy in months if not years. I know the feeling of guilt that you let yourself down, and others down who look up to you. Combine that with the injustices others place upon our shoulders to experience, the burden weighs us down so much it can drown us from our dreams. One day I pray women (everyone) can walk the earth and enjoy its splendors in joy and fulfillment having only to worry of the inherent dangers of nature, not the dangers of another human. I write this laying in bed down and disabled, recovering from an abusive relationship that got the best of me and fearing I may never backpack or explore again or even worse... never even care to. But today a good friend sent me an inspiring article about you and it led me to this TedTalk. Funny I have a reminder next to my coffee pot that says your message exactly, "courage", so with every morning I am reminded what it takes to push through. Its been a long and agonizing recovery, but I did survive and I am still here. 💗 Be safe and be well. Don't let them dim your shine, the world needs it. Thats a message for everyone. 🌟
Walking approximately 20000 miles by feet is indeed just an extraordinary accomplishment by any human being in the World. she intrigued many people to explore the beauty of our planet in a gradual pace.
I met this lady today next to Kroger on the west side of Columbus, she was heading to Missouri (i think) with her mom , its a great example to what we have in our power and what we all can do to support our mission, but it takes a sacrifice, she is amazing follow her, walk with her any way you can (not on feet) with money with spreading her word with anything you can do. Thank you Angela
Amazing lady, and excellent presentation, (I'll bet she familiar with Peace Pilgrim's journeys). That cart she pulled must have been heavy to get over the countless mountain passes she had to conquer.

Courage is something that our society needs more of. Here in America we have become a society of cowards.
Helen Keller 'lives', again. Being is the ultimate verb, transitive. Brava.
We should all follow our own dreams instead of other people's. Unfortunately, most people sell out and over compromise to what other people's wants.
One year after this vid was published...a man gets International Women of Courage Award...

Your my hero
Some men are so vile, I'm so sorry. But what an inspiration you are!
Wouldn't it be better carrying a small dog along?
