THERE IS A SECOND KEY SLOT ON THESE TRUCKS. I’ve spent about an hour trying different keys and found another slot under one of other cubbies. My signal detector detected signal in both.
Ford is the easiest vehicle to program a key. I don't think you know how to use the Autel IM608 to its full potential. First, before even programming a key, you need to make sure that the key you are programming works. You need to read the key and make sure that the key has the correct frequency. You can do that by going into the programming section. You can read and detect frequency. I never had a problem with an aftermarket key. Read the original key and then read each key you are trying to program. By doing that, you are making sure that the battery is good and that the key is for that vehicle. Sometimes aftermarket keys dont come with a battery. No battery and the key can't be programmed
Most of my tools are a dealer Tools With this car i uses 2 after market and 2 original from the dealer Ids tools ford diagnostic tools no success i dont wont earase the key them we are going in to orher problems Thanks for the info
@@BestCarFixes you don't have to erase the keys. All you are doing is making sure that the keys you are wanting to program belong to that car by checking out the key info in the "programmer" section of the Autel IM608. Most Fords only let you program up to 4 keys to the car. Check out the "Programmer" section of the Autel you will see what I am talking about. Also if you go to the "Function Viewer" on the autel you can search for the year, make, and model of the car you are doing and It will give you all the info you need to program the key to the car. No more double guessing. It will tell you if the car can or can't be programmed using the OBD2 method, online or offline method and it will tell you the max keys you can program to that car.
Every time I get this key aftermarket my tools says there locked and they will not program. Let me know if u find a aftermarket that works. You can generate a smart key with the vivid key tool. But it will need to be in a slot to start car buttons will not work. But if you are forced to use 2 keys and only wanna use one. Just use one oem key and when the tool asks for 2nd key you can generate one with a universal remote. Then erase it.
@@fitodaking16 So like I know Toyota keys will unlock. And sometimes when my im608 is trying to program a locked key it will ask if I wanna unlock it. Only if it's compatible. But your saying all keys will unlock? Or just this particular key?

Before programming the key, I always go into the "Programmer" section of the tool, read the key, test the frequency and make sure that the key is unlocked. If the key is locked, I just unlock it. Simple as that. Most of the time when a key is locked, it's because it was a customer return. I always use aftermarket keys from eBay and Amazon. Never had a problem.

I have same problem with aftermarket keys and using the IM 608 pro. Not sure why. I may have to try genuine parts .

You do know if the key comes locked you can easily unlock it by going into the "Programmer" section of the Autel, right?
@@fitodaking16 what are you sure about that?. I know you can unlock with key tool max but most keys you have to solder on connectors.
