I have a key that I programmed following your steps (thanks BTW, smashed LIKE) but the remote lock/unlock doesn't work. If so did you have two previously programmed keys like ozzstar. Thanks for posting this! Bought a new one on Amazon and the Ford Dealer cut it for $10. Process worked perfect 1st time. Only issue I had was new key wouldn't lock/unlock the the doors, figured out the battery was dead in the new fob, replaced the battery and it and worked perfect, didn't even have to reprogam it again. You do not know how much aggravation you saved me!
If you have an auto start on the vehicle you can arm the ignition then hit the brake pedal with the AutoStart then place your key in arm the ignition turn it off and placed the third key in to program it
really enjoy your vids. good point about always having 3 fobs. I was given a beater VW that only had the valet key which only worked the drivers door and ignition...found a place online that could take a hi-res photo and they cut 2 fobs from the photo. Also had to rent a proprietary cable and software to get the dash code and program the suckers...all together about $150...would have been more with the VW logo fobs. its awesome to be able to get in the trunk now! lol moral of story is keep 3 and immediately replace a lost one or its either a LOT of money or a lot of hassle to replace. What if I don’t have three key fobs like the one you showed your trying to program? Am I able to buy a new one get it cut and program it myself even if I don’t have any other key fobs because my car always had one key fob never really bothered to buy extra spare ones.

I have a 2016 F350 with 2 oem keys. I bought 2 new keys and had them cut at Ace for $5 each. Step one and two worked for the first key. Then I programmed the second key, it worked but canceled out the first key ( no longer works). So I reprogrammed the first key (it works) but canceled out the second key. The working key has lock/unlock/ remote start that works but not the global window down as the oem keys do. Doe's that mean I can only program one key using this method?
Sorry for jumpong the gun, got both keys working. Your system worked great, it was me that failed. Sorry to say when I bought the the 2 keys wuth a programmer for $140, didn;t even use the programmer. I still saved money by not going to the dealer.
I gave them the key code and the machine brings up a picture on the screen of what it should look like and then cuts the blank. More accurate that way. Then after the blank is cut it was visually matched to the original key. I kind of wish I filmed that, it's almost amazing.

The key fob I got for my 2018 Ford F150 Sport XLT, would not program without taking it to a locksmith. He charged me $65.00 to program the remote to work with my truck. So the new Ford key fob cost me $89.00 on Amazon, then $55 to cut the key at a lock smith, then $65 to get it programmed at another lock smith. So the remote is expensive, no matter what you do, if the chip in it is not identical to the chip in the other remotes you have.

Why do you have 2 have 2 key fobs to program new key? Could you not just take one original key fob and repeat the step twice? I ask this cause I only got one key fob when I bought the truck.

You didn't say what year your truck is. If it's a 13th generation you need two programmed keys to make extra copies if you don't own programming scanner software.

Like @David Chen, I followed the process here but I couldn't get the 3rd key to work to remote lock/unlock. I was able to start my truck though. Thoughts? Difference is, I got a key with remote start on the key (my other 2 keys don't have that), though I haven't installed the remote start module yet. I would expect to still be able to use the lock/unlock functions. NOPE. I thought it might be the battery, bought a new one just to be sure. NOPE. So for now, I have a key that will unlock the door with the key itself and will start the truck, but the lock/unlock functions don't work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Here you go...Put the new unprogrammed Intelligent Access key in the center console pocket. Press the driver or passenger power door unlock control three times. Press and release the brake pedal once. Press the driver or passenger power door lock control three times. Press and release the brake pedal once. The indicator on the Start/Stop button should begin to flash quickly, indicating that the programming mode has been entered and two programmed Intelligent Access keys have been detected in the vehicle. Within one minute, press the Start/Stop button. A message will be displayed on the message center indicating that the new Intelligent Access key was programmed. Remove the Intelligent Access key from the center console pocket and press the unlock control on the newly programmed Intelligent Access keys to exit the programming mode. Verify that the new Intelligent Access key’s remote entry functions operate by pressing lock, then unlock, and then starting the vehicle.
When I performed this, I got my factory code when i turned on the 2nd key. I inserted the 3rd key and turned it off but no cycling happened. Is there anything I should do?

If you have two factory programmed remotes you should be able to add several more without an issue. If your vehicle has factory remote start then that feature should work. If there is no remote start then that fob feature will not work.

Like I said in the video there must be two programmed fobs in order to program extra fobs to the same vehicle. With one fob you will need programming software to add a fob.
I picked up my 2016 F150 that came with the remote start keyFob that looks like the one you just programmed. But, the remote start no longer works with either key. The body shop had to disconnect the battery while they work on the body of the truck. How do get the remote start reprogrammed? Ford dealership charge $70 a key to reprogram the key. .
It may have been more than a battery that they disconnected. It should be the body shops responsibility to get the fobs working for you or ask the insurance company to program/repair if it was a damage claim. I can't tell you what the problem is sitting behind a keyboard, sorry.
The body shop took care of it. Turns out to be a learning experience for them and me. Ford told them that some will have to be reprogrammed every time the battery is disconnected. If this is true, it sound like something is defective. Besides the key fobs what other hardware is involved?

You need TWO programmed key fobs to program a third one, up to five total. You will need external key programming software if you only have 1 fob to start with.

Ford just charged me 180 to replace the and said I have to go next door to the service department and they want almost 200 more to program the key fob.
@@ozzstars_cars Hey, I only had one because I bought the van used and they didn’t have a spare. I’m in Brooklyn, NY and my van is a 2020 Transit E350. What happened was the hinge broke and the key fell out and I was using the fob to insert it then needle nose to turn the key. I only bought the replacement and I took apart the new key fob and put the new key with little hinge assembly into my working fob and all is good now, except I have this 180 dollar useles fob. Hopefully it lasts a while. And btw, the NY dealerships are criminals. They know they got you. They actually laughed at me when I said I figure out something because I didn’t want to pay to have it programmed by them for 200. I’m gonna make a video to help people with this type situation.

Are you sure it will work for a 2018 F150? I couldn't get mine to program. My wife works @ the Ford Dealerships , and I asked a mechanic there, he said previous year Ford pickup trucks could be programed that way, but the new ones couldnt. $125 to program it
You are the first person to tell me that it couldn't be done on a 2018. Maybe some other folks can chime in. You do have the key type without push button start like the video discusses?

First thing that was different for me was when my doors are closed, I don't get the dings. I tried regardless, but it doesnt work. I tried with the door open so i get the dings and it doesnt work. @@Soljia you need two factory key fobs whcich a re programmed to your truck. The third one will have to match the same number found inside the OEM fob. Did you purchase a third factory OEM fob?
@@benschnellman7297 it would be cost efficient to have someone with the equipment program the key fobs unless you plan on doing lots of cars. Keep in mind that aftermarket fobs sometimes don't work, sometimes they do. I prefer to OEM.

Wife lost 2018 f150 key including all of my old back up GM keys for my gbody cars and c20 pickup over the weekend. I dont think this will work for me since i only have one key fob for my Ford.
That is correct Efron. For the Ford you would need at least two programmed keys to add an additional key without using any expensive programming software. Missing keys is not fun.

@@ozzstars_cars Which battery are you referring to? The battery that was replaced on the F4500 was the one on the truck, along with the starter. There were no issues with starting the vehicle prior. The battery was replaced because it was 5 years old, the starter a bit noisy. I've never heard of a battery needing to be programed. Please explain
Get the third ASAP. Carry the third ONLY . Don’t be a dumbass like me and loose both your original keys and have to get your truck towed to the dealer!

You will need a key programmer with anything less than 2 fobs.

Did you buy a Ford OEM key fob? The price to laser cut a blank should be $20-30, paying $55 for that service is double.

The new keys will need to be programmed with key program software, dealership or aftermarket.

So for now, I have a key that will unlock the door with the key itself and will start the truck, but the lock/unlock functions don't work.

Key fob distance is works pretty far with a fresh battery. I've been 100 feet away and it has no prob.

Here you go...Put the new unprogrammed Intelligent Access key in the center console pocket.
Press the driver or passenger power door unlock control three times.
Press and release the brake pedal once.

The indicator on the Start/Stop button should begin to flash quickly, indicating that the programming mode has been entered and two programmed Intelligent Access keys have been detected in the vehicle.
Within one minute, press the Start/Stop button.
A message will be displayed on the message center indicating that the new Intelligent Access key was programmed.
Remove the Intelligent Access key from the center console pocket and press the unlock control on the newly programmed Intelligent Access keys to exit the programming mode.
Verify that the new Intelligent Access key’s remote entry functions operate by pressing lock, then unlock, and then starting the vehicle.
When I performed this, I got my factory code when i turned on the 2nd key. I inserted the 3rd key and turned it off but no cycling happened. Is there anything I should do?
Is the third key fob factory oem or aftermarket? Does the SN number match the originals? I am guessing

If you want to have a second key you will have to find a shop with key programming software.

You would have to ask the manufacturer that question.
I have a question Ozzstar's, i have 2 keyfobs without remote start plus another with just the remote start, if I purchase a remote like you, will my remote start program itself on the new remote?
If you have two factory programmed remotes you should be able to add several more without an issue. If your vehicle has factory remote start then that feature should work. If there is no remote start then that fob feature will not work.

Like I said in the video there must be two programmed fobs in order to program extra fobs to the same vehicle. With one fob you will need programming software to add a fob.
I picked up my 2016 F150 that came with the remote start keyFob that looks like the one you just programmed. But, the remote start no longer works with either key. The body shop had to disconnect the battery while they work on the body of the truck. How do get the remote start reprogrammed? Ford dealership charge $70 a key to reprogram the key. .
It may have been more than a battery that they disconnected. It should be the body shops responsibility to get the fobs working for you or ask the insurance company to program/repair if it was a damage claim. I can't tell you what the problem is sitting behind a keyboard, sorry.
The body shop took care of it. Turns out to be a learning experience for them and me. Ford told them that some will have to be reprogrammed every time the battery is disconnected. If this is true, it sound like something is defective. Besides the key fobs what other hardware is involved?

You need TWO programmed key fobs to program a third one, up to five total. You will need external key programming software if you only have 1 fob to start with.

Ford just charged me 180 to replace the and said I have to go next door to the service department and they want almost 200 more to program the key fob.

@@ozzstars_cars Hey, I only had one because I bought the van used and they didn’t have a spare. I’m in Brooklyn, NY and my van is a 2020 Transit E350. What happened was the hinge broke and the key fell out and I was using the fob to insert it then needle nose to turn the key. I only bought the replacement and I took apart the new key fob and put the new key with little hinge assembly into my working fob and all is good now, except I have this 180 dollar useles fob. Hopefully it lasts a while. And btw, the NY dealerships are criminals. They know they got you. They actually laughed at me when I said I figure out something because I didn’t want to pay to have it programmed by them for 200. I’m gonna make a video to help people with this type situation.

Are you sure it will work for a 2018 F150? I couldn't get mine to program. My wife works @ the Ford Dealerships , and I asked a mechanic there, he said previous year Ford pickup trucks could be programed that way, but the new ones couldnt. $125 to program it
You are the first person to tell me that it couldn't be done on a 2018. Maybe some other folks can chime in. You do have the key type without push button start like the video discusses?

I have a 2017 F150 XLT. I have been unsuccessful at programming a third key. First thing that was different for me was when my doors are closed, I don't get the dings. I tried regardless, but it doesnt work. I tried with the door open so i get the dings and it doesnt work. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Do you have the correct fob for your truck. The serial numbers inside must be the same as your originals. Also is it OEM?

@@Soljia you need two factory key fobs whcich a re programmed to your truck. The third one will have to match the same number found inside the OEM fob. Did you purchase a third factory OEM fob?

@@benschnellman7297 it would be cost efficient to have someone with the equipment program the key fobs unless you plan on doing lots of cars. Keep in mind that aftermarket fobs sometimes don't work, sometimes they do. I prefer to OEM.

Wife lost 2018 f150 key including all of my old back up GM keys for my gbody cars and c20 pickup over the weekend. I dont think this will work for me since i only have one key fob for my Ford.
That is correct Efron. For the Ford you would need at least two programmed keys to add an additional key without using any expensive programming software. Missing keys is not fun.

You can buy the fob and get the key cut but will need someone with the software to program it for you. Unless you just buy the software tool yourself.

@@ozzstars_cars What if the original keys were working and now the transponder won't read ? Both fobs open and lock doors but won't start vehicle. 2015 F450 NOTE: The starter and battery were replaced prior to any starting issues.

@@ozzstars_cars Which battery are you referring to? The battery that was replaced on the F4500 was the one on the truck, along with the starter. There were no issues with starting the vehicle prior. The battery was replaced because it was 5 years old, the starter a bit noisy. I've never heard of a battery needing to be programed. Please explain
