I only had one programmed key for my F150. I ordered 2 keys off eBay. Home Depot cut for free. Dealer charged $54.00 to program one. I did the second for free!! Thanks Brian!

Many don't know that the FOB and the Chip (of the chip key - RFID) use separate programming, both of which can be done with the vehicle, saving a ton of dealer/locksmith dollars!
I first programmed the FOBs to remotely unlock/lock/start/panic the vehicle.
Then, I followed your instructions to program the chip of each chip key. It took one cycle through with 2 factory keys followed by one after-market key. Then, I opened, closed, locked the doors, and repeated that procedure (2 factory keys per your directions then the other after-market key).
Worked perfectly. I now have 4 keys to my truck.

I had one key because my wife lost the other. From that I cut and programmed two new keys. I do remember watching several videos and maybe from that search I found a few other videos about it. Sorry, hope this helps. I know the dealer wanted $250 a key and there are locksmiths that will charge the same. It was so easy after they were programmed.

I used the older early 2000s Ford key fob, and it worked just fine! Cool that it's backwards compatible.

To identify the difference between the 40 and 80 bit transponder keys, the STRATTEC 80 bit key blanks will have the letters “SA” stamped on the blade and the 40 bit key blanks have the letter “S” stamped on the blade.

Guy on 2007 expedition did the 8 turn process. Guy had it done in 1-2 minutes top with 1 key!!! Will try every way possible.

Thank you it did exactly what you said it would. Everything else said to turn to on then back off with in 1 second and the second working key on then back off and put the on that needs programed in turn it on and back off and leave in for 10 minutes lol
Apparently the fob needs to be programmed separately. Turn the key on/off 7 times and on again an 8th time. Locks should cycle. Press any button on NEW (I programmed remote) and locks should cycle. Remove key from ignition and locks should cycle again.
Press buttons on NEW remote and they should all work.

When I try to do this, my security light just blinks fast when I get to the new key. Any ideas?
I like how the last remote didn't program the transmitter. Whats the issue with that? I had same issue and when I out my scanner it said it was already programmed. Defective fob? I tested and it sends signal just didn't program to vehicle

Great video! Worked great on my 2013 f150, but the 4th key I programmed the fob on it will remote start the truck but will not turn off the truck with fob like the previous keys do, normally I can remote start but if I decide to shut truck off I can hit the start but once and it will shut off, any suggestions?

Hello sir. I have a 97 Ford mustang stuck in theft mode with one good key. It will only fire off and run with starter fluid. I was wondering if I purchased and programmed key fobs would that new key fob turn the theft system off so I can start the vehicle.

I have a '07 Mercury Mountaineer that only has the security theft system module under the dash, if I replace that with a plug and play anti-theft and remote start module would it work? I'd like to think of it as a upgrade with remote start feature. Thank you in advance for your answer
I liked everything you said except the part about the possibility to ruin a good key. I have a Mercury Sable 2008 and just paid a dealer $60 to program a cheap ebay replacement key. I'd like to make a 3rd key using your method. I sure hope I don't kill one of the good keys.

A question if I may. Is it possible to program more than 1 new key? because I saw a video where someone programmed two new keys which totaled 4 keys that could start his car. And if more than one is able to be programmed, how many new keys can be programmed until the car doesn't allow any more?

I have a 1997 Expedition and the original two keys. I bought two new transponder keys and had them cut for the original ignition cylinder code so they would also open the doors. Using the two originals first, I was able to get the PATS system to recognize one new key but I am having no luck trying to add a fourth key. Is that not possible with the A version of PATS that was in the 1997's?
Thank you, but my 2006 F150 doesn't have that lock icon on the dash cluster. it just has a wrench, battery, check engine, brake, ABS, seatbelt, & airbag lights. In this case how would I do this procedure? Or is there another procedure for my truck model year?

I bought a 2012 ford focus. It came with 1 key(original ford key). I bought two new ones and had them programmed at a Ford dealer. Problem now is the original key will start but won't unlock/lock doors or pop the hatch. Has that just gone bad on that key? I just did your video and no change in that key. I have to working keys of which I put in the first one then the second one,then I put in the key to be programmed, I try each to see if they would work, the only key that did not start the engine was the second working key, so I had to re-program that key with the first key and the third key that I had to program, now each key starts the engine. So programming the new key took the program off of the second working key

hi question i had a new ignition switch put in my 2000 ford f-150. the ford dealer just put a new one tha had all new pats keys i had three pats keys for my old lock cylindar. i found a lock cylindar on ebay a guy could re key to match my old keys i had for put that in but how do i get ride of the three keys they programed to the trucks computer that work for the lock cylindar that is diffrent from my old keys?
My current key does not have the key fob built into it (its a separate pod)... can i use this method to program a key with the built in fob to eliminate the extra fob from my key ring?

This method worked on my 2002 ford escape but it did in fact booted one of my keys off according to my scanner.
Had problem today. Customer only has one key and my Autel / Autek cannot add a 2nd key citing need 2 working keys. I can clone the chip but I ran out of a Ford shell to insert a super chip. Is there a way to work around 2 key limitation? Or I guess you have to do it as AKL situation in which I don't want to do.

I bought a 2005 f150 a few years ago and it olny had 1 key, so I went Lowes and bought a new key for just under $100 but I don't remember how I programed it. My question is can I use the one original and one copy to program another. In the video you said 2 working keys which I have just one is not original. Thank for the info.

I just bought a new ignition tumbler for my 09 Ford focus and I got 2 new keys that come with it , I heard I have to reprogram the new keys to the car but i need a locksmith to do it for me or maybe a mechanic that has the tool to do it ,would this work ????

Not working for my 2011 Fusion. Even the locksmith couldn't get my new key to work. Does it have something to do with the FCC ID?

Can this be attacked from the other end? Can the transponder system be disabled? Sure seems like a lot of people are getting hosed for losing their keys or in my case buying a used truck with only 1 key.

You'll have to have the dealer program it for you, as you need two "master" keys to program additional keys.
I have a question. There is only one vehicle key, but the key was not recognized and the key registration was completed through the program. Could the registration settings be unlocked because of the battery?

All (3) of my remotes stopped working earlier this week for my 2011 F150, including the original. I attempted to implement this method to reprogram them and none of them responded. They still start the truck but none of the buttons respond. The batteries are good. Any ideas short of a trip to the dealer for at least $140.00?
What if u dont have the. Programmed key any more? I have an 08 Mercury Sable and I lost the key to it that I had just gotten replaced.
