How To - FORscan Key Reprogramming

This video I show you how to reprogram your keys on a Ford vehicle using the software FORscan (forscan.org/download.html) and USB to OBDII hardware

There are plenty of other options out there but this was the one that worked best for my vehicle (2009 Ford F150 5.4L XLT 4x4)

You don't need 2 functional keys to do this. You need 1 working key that's of course already programmed to the vehicle. You need FORscan with the advanced access subscription.

Hi, it normal that my car Mondeo MK3 does not accept even that another key turn it? I means even to position 1. Five years ago, i program two key by the method that u know. I means turn it from position 1 to 4 fast, after bip sound, then i press another keys. Does key can open the car and close it, but they can't start the car. Even to turn in ignition, that can't turn. I have Forscan, but i am Afraid to erase the only key that start the can.

I need a one old and one new key solution. Only one key came with my truck. Bought a used fob and had the key cut. The key goes into the ignition and turns but an error say s there is no key. Going to locksmith to get second key programmed.

Do you need two FUNCTIONAL keys for this to work? One of my two oem keys stopped working, it won't start the truck. I would hate to leave myself stranded if I attempt to reprogram the keys but the other one is still malfunctioning. The battery in the fob has been replaced. Thanks

No. You need FORscan, a ELM327 OBD2 dongle, and lots of time. It took me about 15 minutes per key to program new keys for my Taurus this afternoon. In order to do this type of programming you'll have to pay a $12 fee for Advanced access in FORscan that allows you to make additional keys, but as long as you have 1 key you can make additional keys.

I programmed 2 new keys that I got cut using forscan. They both worked to start the car , but none of their buttons work. Also it disabled my aftermarket remote start . What did I do wrong ?

I figured this out. You need to insert the new key, open door, press unlock button, leave door open, cycle key 8 times ending in run position. When locks cycle, press button on fob, locks will cycle again. Fob is programmed.

Hunter has it right. The fob portion is a separate setup.

Now this is same process for a 2004 Mazda 6

It could be, but the program is, as far as I know, for ford. I know a lot of Mazdas are identical but I do not know if the programming is different

Hi, do you have a license for the program? Sometimes it is either an issue with that, or it could be the cable you are using to connect to the vehicle.
In order to get into PATs you will need the full license

@@nodakviking i have a 2month licence and i can get pats,only trouble is i cant get hold of a key cutter as they are very busy ,i see you have got the 2.3.42, i have the 2.3.47 any different in using this release at all,there is one more thing as well,my immobillizer light flashes,when i eventually get the car to behave itself it goes off,i need 2keys anyway its no good because when you have to turn key off it will take a few minutes,tried it but when turning key back on, the immobillizer flashes again,lastly when i went on pats for the first time,its taken my clutch operation away,now even when the immobillizer goes out i cant start car,i could before,this forscan has been trouble,is there anymore software out there you could use-----sorry about all the explaining but the care is my life
