  • Recently, we were so happy that the government of Hong Kong and Singapore set up a travel bubble. But, alas, due to the growing number of community cases in Hong Kong, both countries decide to postpone their plan. That inspired us to prepare some common Hong Kong dishes so that you can cook them and then imagine you're there in Hong Kong. We can get through this. Stay strong and stay safe.
See the ingredient list below for your easy reference.
Hope you can recreate this yummy dish in the comfort of your home. Happy cooking!

This is now the favorite noodle dish for me and my wife. It tastes great and is a nice alternative to Italian pasta. I'm doing it tonight and I'm looking forward to it. When it comes to vegetables, I vary and take Shitake mushrooms instead of the sprouts, as they are more readily available here and also taste better.

I really like this dish and serve it sometimes as a dish to clients who want a vegetarian option. However I also add thinly sliced Mushrooms and red peppers . I wouldn't bother about taking off the heads and tails of the bean sprouts... You'll be here until Christmas... 2024 that is... For the sauce I dont add sugar or dark Soy sauce-I just use pre sugared Soy sauce.. dark Soy sauce is very difficult to find in Nevers (central France)... I serve this with a side dish of Thai lime and Cucumber Salad... Grated Cucumber with some thinly chopped red onion and spring onion with a sauce made of rice wine vinegar, fish sauce, honey, chilli pepper, sunflower oil, lots of fresh lime all mixed together. I let this marinate in the fridge for a few hours... To die for.. This is a really good combination and the salad has a real kick and compliments the chow Mein really well.
    Best wishes from Chef Andy

Ok just tried it. I might reduce the dark soy as it made my noodles darker than this vid (or maybe il try and add more or different noodles). I enjoyed making it and its still delicious 😋
