This looks so good!Could you please show or explain the difference between regular soy sauce and dark soy sauce? Also, any tips on chow mein noodle types? These are so hard to find where I live.
this looks so good. Shrimp and onions, my favorite. I'm so happy the chef at work likes shrimp too. Almost every week there are cold and warm shrimp dishes.
Very nice! I'm definitely gonna make this. Thanks for the tip on how to take away the fishy taste of the shrimp. A lot of Chinese restaurants need to do this. Great video 👍
Well, white peppers is one of the specific spice in Asian cuisine but I didn't know that it removes the fishy smell. So, I made this dish for Father's Day dinner today, however my shrimp still smelled shrimpy 😁. It's all good, the recipe was so so for me. I used rice vinegar and extra sugar to replace the alcohol. Yes, I know that the alcohol burns off but as Muslims it is prohibited for various reasons.
Hi Stacy, another beautiful recipe I have tried many of your recipes and they have been beautiful also so quick and easy. Thanks for such a great site.
I can’t wait to try this! I have to adjust for my allergies to garlic and onion but I have trusted substitutions that should work well and I’d add some carrot to give the crunch that the onion would provide. Yum!!
Im a muslim from Singapore. I luv chinese dishes. Thanks for the recepi and I am glad to know when you told us we can skip the chinese wine which muslim cant consume❤
You can always change items from a recipe, whether for religion reasons or not liking the taste of it, no one will know accept you and whoever shares the food with you. The important thing you learn from a video of a recipe is HOW to COOK it, when to add the sauces, etc. If you like it less or more spicy, you can add either add hot pepper or add sliced fresh hot pepper-----The Jew religion forbids to eat shrimp, so shrimp is not added, but the rest of us LEARN how to marinate the shrimp, the Jews just skip the procedure what to do with the shrimp! I have a friend who follows the religion at home and has a kosher kitchen, but when she is at work and eats in the cafeteria, she eats whatever she wants, she eats crisp baked bacon every morning, she said I like it so I eat it! You can do whatever YOU want to do.
You can substitute the wine with rice vinegar and sugar same amount each or white or red grape juice with sugar. You can always google for substitution for any ingredient. Hope this helps. Salam Aleakum sister 🙂
I LOVE YOUR RECIPE I DID THE SHRIMP CHOW MEIN . 😢ITS CAME OUT SO DELICIOUS. THANKS TO YOU , YOU ESPLAIN SO GOOD TEACHING HOW TO MAKE STEP BY STEP❤️🙌👏🙌👏
Hi Stacey!!! This recipe looks mighty tasty to me. I really like shrimp dishes. I will have to give this a try...YUMS!!!.HAPPY EASTER!!!...Great Video!!!...🦋
I am from Indonesia. We have the Kecap, it is thick soy sauce that is sweet but the sweetness came in 3 grades: Kecap asin (asin is salty), Kecap sedang (Medium sweetness) or Kecap manis (the sweetest one). My favorite is th Kecap manis. Then I use the Chinese salty soy sauce if I need more saltiness. And I would also use fish sauce for tastiness. The Kecap manis which has different brands, the most popular sold in USA is ABC brand. I use it to make satay and all kinds of different dishes.....I am not affiliated with the Kecap of any brand. I just happen to like it. Thank you so much for the recipe.
Brilliant Video Stacey !!! Very simple and very easy to follow and 'WOW' - what a result !!! Cook plenty more please - l'm on the way to eat with you !!!
My family love lomein the most but nobody knows how to cook and do not know where to get ingredients. We usually go to Chinese restaurant near my house to buy lomein with all favorite types : chicken lomei, shrimp lomein, beef lomein, or combo lomein. One time, I dont know where to buy lomein so i substituted lomein by spaghetti. OMG my lomein is so bad!! Today, watching your video accidentally, i learned the way to cook shrimp lomein of yours, i will copy and cook it for my family this weekend. Thank you so much for sharing useful video.

We no longer under the mosaic law. At Acts 10:15 Jehovah God says yes, eat and drink! 🍴🍷
What does saying you are a muslim have to do with Chinese food?
