  • I loved making these!
There's magic in working on multiple pieces at once- You lose a bit of that fear that tells you that you could mess it up, make a mistake, ruin everything... The preciousness goes away, and that is where your creative freedom awaits you!
Check out my Instagram for pics, and please follow! I post all kinds of my art there (much more than I have in filmed content).

A few things I want to mention:
I did use soft pastels and charcoal on these, so I will need to seal them with a fixative to make sure they don't smudge, and stay put.
When I was applying those pastels, I did slip out of view a little, sorry! But you can see most of what I'm doing, so i left it in rather than edit it out 🤦‍♀️
The reason I used a palette knife to apply my leafing size (adhesive) is because I'm using nice textured paper, and as I mentioned, I wanted a minimal amount of copper leaf. If i used a brush to paint the size on, it would have covered too much of the paper and gone into the grooves it has, which would've left me with a bold patch of shiny leaf, and that would've been too much. I wanted it to be scratchy and flecky.
The silicone basting brush- I often use that to remove the excess leafing, particulary when I am using much more than I did in this particular video. it's often much better than a brush, but for this one, the brush was perfect.
Leafing size will ruin your brushes! Don't use anything of quality when applying sizing, as it does not wash out. Get some cheap bulk brushes from amazon or aliexpress/ebay instead
Some items I used that I forgot to show:
    white liquitex acrylic ink
    neutral grey derwent inktense pencil
    liquitex unbleached titanuim spray paint
Jackson's Art soft pastels ( i think it was: dark khaki; salmon pink; greenish grey... and possibly one other that I can't recall 🙃)
