- Hey peeps, it's been (another long) minute between vids!
Today I'm showing you how to mount ink art onto a cradled board!
You will need:
A piece of art Please make sure you have fully sealed the artwork prior to mounting. This is particularly important because adhesives can re-activate/run/smear alcohol inks.
- A cradled board
- A cutting mat and blade
- A brayer/rolling pin/cardboard tube or similar
- A sheet of baking paper or similar
- A comb or catalyst tool
- Gel medium (or similar. There are some good brands out there. Mine is Liquitex matte gel).
- A sturdy flat surface with some weighty objects
- A viewfinder if you have one, though, it's not imperative
- Paper towel
- Something to spread adhesive with

Awesome Bree. Such a beautiful piece. Thanks for this tutorial. I use the handle of the scissors to burnish.
Great idea! I sometimes get my mini plastic spatula as well. As long as people do it, they can use almost anything 😄
Great tutorial! I like that you brought out so many different tips or things to watch out for!!
Thanks, lovely! 😄❤️
Thanks Bree for the tips Gorgeous piece 🩷
What a great tutorial. Thanks so much. Love your art. 😊
Thanks so much, Lynne. I appreciate it! 🥰
Very beautiful 😍
Stunning!!
Thanks so much! ❤
I love that I actually learn new things from you! Are you able to do the same thing to a canvas or does it have to be on a wood panel? I’m asking for my financial point of view as canvases are so much cheaper lol.❤️❤️❤️
Ohhh girl i don't know this one- I've never resined canvas, sorry!
Beautiful painting! So soft!
Do you wait until the resin is fully dry before removing the tape or is there a crucial moment during the drying process when you remove the tape?
I take the tape off after a day of curing. The resin is still fragile, so you have to be careful not to scratch or dent it, though!
Great info - thanks! I’ve heard that alcohol inks can fade. Does the resin alone provide protection from that or do you treat the piece with something else prior to applying resin?
Yes, unfortunately alcohol inks are fugitive. In saying that, I follow the rule of displaying them out of direct sunlight, and have had no issues with fading so far. I always use a UV protective varnish after i seal my inks, to offer some protection and extra longevity ❤️
