One of the biggest shiny hunts is Mr.Mime that you trade for abra. At certain levels we know specific pokemons IVS to make them shiny. So you get a Level 50 abra and someone found the stat chart for shiny level 50 mr.mime and you do what you'd do in every game, hard reset until you get the one you want. but in this case you actually have to check stats EVERY SINGLE TIME. Went looking for old Pokémon games yesterday and I managed to get an amazing deal! Surprisingly I found it in NYC. I'm looking for Pokémon Ultra Moon, X and Omega Ruby to complete my collection of the the 3DS titles (NDS are too expensive for my budget lol). Went to 2 stores, the first one had CIB for Gen 6 and 7 titles but were all around $60-$65. They also had loose cartridges for those games plus the NDS titles, Gens 4 and 5 were $120+. Then went to another store a couple blocks away and found three copies of ORAS with case w/o manuals for $44.. as well as UM for $40. But then I clocked a copy of OR in the front of the store for $33 lose! When I checked the save file, it had 100 hours and 720 Pokémon in the Pokédex. It has a bunch of shiny Pokémon and a couple shiny box legendries for Gens 6 and 7.. some were obviously hacked but it was an amazing find nonetheless.
Funny story I had two copies of leaf green that my mom bought and on the save had like a deoxys and it was in a weird area, ironically i accidentally gave back the wrong copy of the game and now I feel like I was tripping all the time

Gen 4 and 5 were, hands down, the best games in the series. I'm not a big fan of Gen 3, but Gen 7, 8 and 9 managed to push it up in the list. They have been the worst entries in the series and that's with taking Red and Green's problems in to account. I would rather play those short and buggy games over the last 3 mainline releases.
I hope someone sees this. I opened up my Pokémon Gold game just for fun. The battery still works (but not really). All of my Pokémon sprites and stats were the same. Info was the same. But when I went to check on them with more detail, their image all got replaced by Dewgong’s. Moreover, when I went to check my Pokémon in the PC, they too were all replaced with max EV dewgong. Every dewgong has the same moveset: Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, Thunder 😂 Oh, and there was a very strange pocket Unknown (K) occupying the last slot of the last box. And it was playing some creepy music that was not original to the game. Bizarre times we’re living in.
I feel like the only point of this video was to see if you could "buy" some shiny Pokemon from older generations and to make a joke when a game had nothing. There was a lot to consider for Gen 4 in particular, where tons of stuff appeared to be brought up from the Gen 3 games. There was Pokerus on one of the files, so some of the boxed Pokemon might've had it active still for spreading. Or the fact that there were so many Pokemon in the boxes, that some were events that could've been from a Gen 3 game legitimately, or at least a legit event from the time period (for whatever that's worth.) Part of the fun of these kinds of videos is in appreciating what the files had and had accomplished, and while some of these games legitimately had nothing due to a save being erased or just having a file with minimal playtime, nothing got any screentime unless it was shiny, and the mythicals were lucky to get a mention.
My first one was the "red" gyarados without noticing. There are some more guaranteed in the main series. Dratini, Gible and Haxorus in BW2. Ponyta in PLA. Odd eggs in gen2 are also a funny way to obtain shinys. Pokemon GO an gen9 sandwich methods I would say are the easiest ways to get tons of shinys.

Funny story I had two copies of leaf green that my mom bought and on the save had like a deoxys and it was in a weird area, ironically i accidentally gave back the wrong copy of the game and now I feel like I was tripping all the time
I'm surprised how much support I'm seeing for shiny Spinda. I got one in my last playthrough of OG Sapphire and I just considered it a junk shiny, but if people collect these for the patterns then I guess I'm glad I still have it.
I bought a bunch of old DS and Gameboy Pokemon games last time I went to the US and I hit the jackpot and found a bunch of Legendaries and shinies, specially in the DS Pokemon games
That first Gen 4 party lead had pokerus….. the odds of that were astronomical.
Loved it and the Tidus laugh lol. MHA fan here
Tidus laugh really pulled some weight in this one
1:11 i actually did find a randon shiny in pokemon silver on my way to the elite four i found a shiny donphan in the weeds
I found a shiny skiploom in silver :)
Love the little tune at the end!
Japanese players during Gen IV was wild man. DPPt was extremely popular.
Pretty sure that the dragonair is the free one you get for defeating the battle tree, in the other game you get a gible in other you get dratini
Missing the pokeruss on Venosaur in Dr. LivingDex's game? That used to be so fun to use! Is it not cool anymore or something? Lol
My introduction was fire red and leafy green. Good times in gym class...ironic im a trainer now and i would never skip a gym day now
Omg I just found your channel and I have to say we have a lot in common
your a og 1990 baby
Your channel Mascot is my favorite shiny of all time DITTO cuz he resembled my imaginary friend I didn't have toys growing up so I had a imaginary friend that was a blob of make out of playdough and imagine it being other toys
And to top it off you are a collector and shiny hunter just like me !!!
I am subscribing with notifications on bud ! Your formating animations sound effects and jokes are presiged compared to other TH-camrs you put so much effort and made a still screen be so intriguing and immersive bravo brother God bless
Flame Body doesn’t work in Saphire
@11:22 the little emoji on venasaur means it had pokerus
“Guess what all my pokemon are; special”😂
Just curious how you played authentic copies on your pc? You mentioned controller as per the accidental soft reset as well as the recording of the gameplay!
The GB/GBA stuff I used my GB Operator. For DS/3DS I just used Checkpoint to back up the saves and bring them over to the PC.
You can tell if they're shiny or not by the animation that followed the "dance".
I didn’t even know what a shiny was as a kid. I don’t even want to know how many I came across and passed up.
I found my lost pokemon crystalnsave from middle school . Some gamesharks could take gamesave back ups I made some.
Every dewgong has the same moveset: Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, Thunder 😂
Oh, and there was a very strange pocket Unknown (K) occupying the last slot of the last box.
And it was playing some creepy music that was not original to the game. Bizarre times we’re living in.
The irony that I am currently playing Mario Kart and this starts playing with all the mario kart tunes
Go and check if that pichu has surf right now, it might be from Pokémon box
I have a feeling that those empty pcs sent their pokemon to future games.
Feel like that moon file was actually comp breeding not Masuda breeding.
Or the fact that there were so many Pokemon in the boxes, that some were events that could've been from a Gen 3 game legitimately, or at least a legit event from the time period (for whatever that's worth.)
Part of the fun of these kinds of videos is in appreciating what the files had and had accomplished, and while some of these games legitimately had nothing due to a save being erased or just having a file with minimal playtime, nothing got any screentime unless it was shiny, and the mythicals were lucky to get a mention.
Amazing video lmao taken me out with these edits
You didn't mention it, but that Moon copy has Pokerus. Is there any way to tell if the Pokerus originated in that save or if it was traded over?
That's an awesome catch! I'm not sure if there's any way to tell.
you got me at deku's reference with ludicolo. Subscribed.
At 11:23 Venusaur has the Pokerus symbol
Pretty neat find!
pokerus doesn't last for long though,a couple of heal ups and it will go away.
shiny dratini is gift afterdefeating Banjirou at Black Tower or White Treehollow btw.
It will come the day when he will hatch a cute little golden bulbasour egg whit a special surprise in it
Yo your memes behind the video makes this so funny
i like how he casually beats the gym to find nothing 😂
I preferred getting the game used because i liked seeing which Pokemon the save before me chose
LMAO great video bro. Imma sub
the editing in this feels like 2017 but with modern memes LOL
This almost makes me angry. I’ve played Pokémon for 20 years and I have literally never found a shiny.
@@o0julek0o I just started playing the gen 3 remakes with my cousin and he already found a shiny Nidoran
It's okay, i have nearly 200 shinies, you can take one of my shiny Lokix
Lol git gud
@o0julek0o I’m guessing you haven’t played the newer games. They made it so much easier to find shinies in newer games. I don’t think they’re rare at all anymore.
You don’t have to spend hundreds of hours in games to say you’re a gamer. I just playing Pokemon sword for the first time now and after I beat the game and level up the Pokemon I want, I’m on to the next game. I really enjoyed my time and did everything I wanted in the game. I’m not gonna spend another 2 weeks or more completing the whole Pokédex just to prove I’m a gamer to some people.

glad im not the only one who didnt play black and white games, felt like they didnt fit into the franchise imo
Anytime someone uses the Tidus laugh track I immediately respect the video 🤣
It's weird that the hgss saves didn't have shiny starters since their so easy to get
Did he just ignore ghe 2 shiny legends in blavk 2
Dude you just ignored the venusaur with pokerus thats crazy man
