Great video! The only little thing that bugged me was when you kept saying your food looked gross. It looked absolutely yummy to me. Sometimes I feel like we've all been looking at way too many perfectly arranged instagram plates.
I just started following you and this is the best 'what I eat in a day' video I've ever watched. It's realistic, attainable, healthy, affordable! Very similar to my diet. Great job and thanks for the content!
Dr. Ellis, I've been binge watching your videos the last few days. I find that you are so relatable. I eat a very similar "diet" even though I don't consider it a diet. Try to eat mostly plant based, but have dairy desserts and pizza when I'm in the mood. Love your "what I eat in a day" vlogs. Keep them up!!
I'd 1st just like to say that I loved this vlog style video from you! I have a dairy sensitivity and I noticed that when I cut out dairy my skin changed and improved. I really enjoy your energy, you seem to have such a calm nature from your videos. Thank you for your content!
I started eating a ketogenic diet about 8 months ago. It was just to take care of my health, I’m insulin resistant and have pcos, and everything that comes with that. But a happy surprise was that my rosacea also got better. It used to range from dark pink to tomato red, but now i just look sun kissed. I have tried to eat some carbs again, but I noticed that my rosacea flares up again the day after. So I will leave those yummy yummy carbs for the holidays and my birthday.
Dr. Sam, this was an AMAZING video!!! Please do more "what i eat in a day"! I would also love to see a get ready with you- going out style! I always love your makeup, especially your lip colour! Can't wait for your next video :)
Love the fact that you aren’t stuck to one “diet” and you let yourself enjoy dairy and meat when you want. I feel like so many people online are strict about what they eat when their bodies are asking for them to go beyond their strict diet. Glad you mentioned that
Thanks for tips and ideas. I love that you choose the meat free and dairy free options where available and easy. So many who eat meat and dairy don’t attempt mixing things up. This is a true depiction of plant based eating. Plant based means just that, plants as first options, nothing strict or religious, just thoughtfully curated 😋
@@DrSamEllis if you have a craving for cookie dough (like me), I found a healthy recipe that satisfies that craving! 1 1/2 cups white beans (drained and rinsed well) 1/8 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp baking soda, 2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 cup peanut butter, stevia or sweetener of choice (adjusted to taste), 1/3 cup chocolate chips, 2 tbsp oats or flax seed. Mix all ingredients except sweetener and choc chips in food processor on high until completely smooth. Put in bowl, mix in sweetener to taste, then mix in chocolate chips. It’s so yummy and tastes just like cookie dough 😋
@@kimberlyturner820 sorry just now replying to this. I used the neutrogena body clear salicylic acid body wash. It is not for face because it can cause irritation. She has a whole video with other recommendations as well! :)
Love love love this vlog style and what you eat in a day! Thanks for the inspo/food ideas! Just discovered your channel and love all the content. I hope you can do more vlog style in the future too!
I like this type video , and am always using the “one bowl ,throw it together until it looks pretty method” i’m going to go get some garbanzo beans , I forgot about those they’re so good! Thank you👏
This vlog video was great. I would love a video on your makeup routine including the products you use. Your eye makeup is so simple yet lovely. Would like to know what products you use to achieve that look.
I completely relate to your cookie dough obsession. For years I had dessert every single night and one of my go to's is frozen cookie dough balls. I do one with m and m's and then i microwave them for a few seconds to get the m and m's melted in the center. I sometimes add chopped smokehouse almonds on top or some other kind of nut.
I loved this! I got some ideas as well. I a huge fan of bowl meals. Currently eating a Mediterranean Beef Hummus bowl while watching your video! Thank you for sharing
Great video. I’m older than you and I eat a very similar diet. Oatmeal with berries for breakfast, salad with some kind of protein for lunch. My late afternoon snack is usually a little bit of cheese. I drink green tea in the evenings too and usually eat a little dark chocolate. My husband also cooks dinner! I strive to eat healthy most of the time but try not to obsess over it. With age I feel it’s important to keep a stable healthy weight.
A few years ago my skin started getting so dry and flaky (probably hormones), but I started adding avocado regularly and over time it completely improved.
It's been 6 months ago that I am gluten free, dairy free ( thyroid issues) and grain free, almost everything organic, pasture raised eggs and chicken, wild salmon etc.etc, my health improve a lot and my skin looks so healthy and glowy!
Thanks for the realism. Ninja coffee drinker, I like the same kinds of foods as you (and have the same general philosophy) but don’t really enjoy cooking so don’t eat as well as I would like, feel the same about alcohol - enjoy an occasional beer or wine out but never have it at home, yes to cookie dough over cookies. I usually have a few dove chocolates each night. Try the unsweetened soy in your oats. I actually make overnight oats in wide mouth pint mason jars and use the steel and thick cut oats with chia, ground flax and cinnamon and the unsweetened soy. Heat up in microwave in morning and add nuts and fresh or frozen berries. I make a weeks worth on Sunday - takes about 10 mins.
Thank you so much for making this video and being so detailed about it . I am mostly plant based as well. For the same reasons as you. It's funny I've never seen/known a person with the same diet as me. Usually if people are plant based they are fully vegan and veganism doesn't necessarily mean healthy . So that's why I use the term plant based! I'm in nursing school but my passion is nutrition and health . I would love to see how you make your soups /stews in an upcoming video if you can ? I'm always tryinh to find ways of learning how to cook better . Usually all i do is throw a whole bunch of veggies and saute them together with beans , etc. But my seasoning is off . I want to learn more about it. I have no experience with cooking soups /stews and I'm Cuban lol . Would love to see more of these videos from you !! 😇
I loved that vlog! It's nice to see/learn more about you 😊 I agree everything in moderation is the key approach to food. I love cheese, so I would not become vegan but, like you, I have switched to non-diary milk. I have also worked out that avoiding sugar (I am talking about white and brown sugar) and white carbs like white bread, rice and pasta has made my body feel and look better. I have a sweet tooth, so I definitely opt for alternative sweeteners like stevia, maple syrup and honey. I looove ice cream and chocolate, so it's amazing that there are refined sugar free options for these. I am a huge chocolate chip cookie fan but I can't find any that fit my diet, so I have started making my own 🍪😋🥰
What a cute video! Oatmeal Little House on the Prairie style made me laugh because I used to love that show as a kid. 😆 I am going to make that smoothie to sneak in some greens for my kids!
We eat very similarly! Loved this video. I love adding 2 spoons of chia seeds in my morning porridge to boost proteins :) I don't like coffee so I have a glass of water with ginger and lemon and a greeen tea or matcha. As I supplement I love cod liver oil, it covers Vit D and A and I found it helped a lot my skin too. Other supplements that I love: magnesium, B complex and Vit C.
My Mom gave us kids Cod Liver Oil alllllll through our childhoods and I swear it’s why at 59 I have beautiful skin and a head full of healthy hair. We were never sick with colds like other kids got. She was ahead of her time on sunscreen and no alcohol/smoking. Never let me “tan” with my friends. I’m sure thanking her now! Thanks, Mom! 🙏🌹 I miss you Every Day.
I love you videos! Definitely don’t do dairy unfortunately it flares my acne every type I wish I could and I am low glycemic! I need to take calcium again since I don’t do dairy I eat lots of greens which have some good calcium but not enough. Thanks for the reminder! I would love to see a supplement video what you think is worth for the skin and what you think is not! Your page is amazing can’t wait to see more! 🥰
I've been plant based for 5 years but only in the last year I started incorporating lentils into my diet and it's a nice protein-rich change up. Was also wondering how come you dont take B12.
This video was fun! I struggle with combination skin and sever hormonal acne... I was finally desperate enough to limit/cut out dairy . So far I don't see a huge change, but fingers crossed if i stick with it, it'll improve.
Eliminating dairy can take up to two weeks to see a difference. Also look into your sleep quality. I started going to bed before midnight and even though I get the same hours of sleep, it feels different; better and my skin has cleared. Good luck!
our food choices are identical , how funny , besides you , I don't know anyone who eats like this,... The organic flaxseed meal from trader joes has a great recipe on the back . No bake energy bites, make it you'll love it , great for snaking . Thank you foe sharing your knowledge
I believe in this video, or another....you mentioned one of your prized possessions being your Dyson vacuum cleaner. Could you tell me which model you have? I'm looking for recommendations. Thanks!
I've heard coffee can disrupt hormones and cause breakouts, have you heard about this? i had to quit because it was breaking me out so badly and i switched back over to green tea.
Hello! Loved all the easy recipes, everything looked delicious, def getting some ideas. Can you please share the name of the container where you had your lettuce? English is not my first language so I can’t get to understand the name of it. Thanks
Hi, Love this format!!! 👏. My husband also cooks most of our meals and he is good at it too! The only thing is that it is harder to control what I eat - but who’s complaining… 😜. You look great by the way. /Anna
Haha I have the same "problem." I'm definitely not going to refuse a meal that I didn't have to prepare, but it totally means there are some eating days that aren't nearly as "healthy."
Hi I noticed you eat some things that are “rosacea” triggers. I am trying to figure out what makes me flush and it’s definitely not easy. Do you find that animal proteins make you flush? Also, any rosacea resources you have would be greatly appreciated. My dermatologist has prescribed me some topical medication but when it comes to skincare she’s not super in depth. I bought some prequel items and am excited to try them.
Hi Dr. Ellis! Love your video! I am a veggies lover too. Just eat chicken sometime, but honestly I can live without it. Also I prefer almond milk to lactose.

I just found your channel with this video and I really enjoyed it! You eat really similarly to me and have AMAZING skin, yet I tend to always break out. I really enjoyed that you mentioned that there are so many factors that go into skin health and it's difficult to study. That gave me a little reassurance that it isn't just me that can't figure things out! haha or when I think I do, something always changes and here I sit every so often going "Hmph...what did I change THIS time" lol
Do you drink a glass of water first in the morning ? Or was it with breakfast ? Liked your breakfast ,lunch ,smoothie , Dinner all good , looks delicious , 😋👍👍👍😋
