I cant stop coming back to this performance for another dose of Texas blues and for your reaction, even sick you were taking blows right and left from Stevies axe of a million riffs-! You sir are a trooper, nothing like seeing the youth of today laid back on their heels when they find some of Stevies most memorable performances, theres nothing like it today - im 60 and grew up in the mid sixties to early 80's when we had MUSIC-! No back track slack hack bass boosted crap, back then you had to PLAY and if it wasnt good it just didnt make it. That was the days of the legends and Stevie was one of the later and last ones, they played hard and left early & that, was a cryin shame.

As others have commented before me, you will definitely want to see him do Voodoo Chile live. SRV never played anything the same way twice, so everyone of these live performances are different: from the same show at El Mocambo; Austin City Limits 1983 or 1989; Nashville; Tokyo.
My favorite is Austin City Limits1989 but all are amazing nonetheless.

Those damn 13 gauge strings are harder than hell to play, but that sound is second to none.
SRV is my favorite. Duane Allman was great and only 25 when he died, check out The Allman Brothers doing Whipping Post or Don't Want You No More/Not My Cross To Bear. They also feature Dickey Betts, another great guitarist.
First of all: HOPE you are feeling better! This is my go to SRV to clear my head and the purpose of blues: express extreme emotions through music. He is letting that guitar have it😎

If you watch Stevie play the same song in different live shows, it will amaze you. The base or core of the song is the same. But the extra free style stuff is made up in the spot.

Also, I subscribe to the theory that Jimi is the GOAT but the reaction universe suffers from not having as man live videos that really demonstrate that. SRV is very much missed, he was such a intensed guitarist. My top two favorite is Jimmy Page and SRV.
