Blocking videos just hurts the legacy of the artist, in this case, SRV. You reaction-ers are keeping his legacy alive and introducing him to new and younger ears who are loving him. I can't believe the stupidity of whom ever is in charge of his estate. Probably Jimmy, He's afraid a dollar is gonna slip past him is my guess. Good reaction. Worthy of Stevie. He deserves to be raised up for his phenomenal talent. ps. This is THEE greatest guitar player of all time. And there are some great ones. He's #1. Other artists have said his guitar is an extension of himself.
Stevie Ray was the Guitar. ❤ he was ridin' down the road on his bike at 10 year's old. Ridin' all over Dallas. I should know I'm his Little Sister Kiya Lynn Vaughan.
Few can make a guitar talk the way he could. He was certainly a master and one wonders how much more he could have achieved if he'd lived. I "discovered" him on the airwaves maybe a few years before his plane crashed, so when I heard the new I felt a deep loss. Really love his music.
Good ol' Texas 🇨🇱 "stank face" blues.💯🤗 I saw Stevie Ray dozens of times in Austin in the mid '70s-early '80s before he was famous. The last time I saw him was '85 on this tour. RIP Stevie Ray🙏, we still miss you.😢❤✌
Hi Tom, your so lucky! I lived in the north east and was only able to see him about once a year when he toured through the area. Lucky enough to see him six times. I’ve often said I wish I would have lived in Texas, I would’ve been him every night! Simply amazing…
The legendary, The GOAT , SRV in are time. J Hendricks. Muddy Waters. Chuck Berry. Buddy Holly. Thank you for reacting to SRV it got my day off to a great start.
I was blessed to see Stevie play many times. I saw his brother Jimmie play before I even heard of Stevie. There is a Hendrix connection: Jimmie Vaughan’s early band The Chessmen opened for Hendrix a couple of times in Texas, and Jimmie bought a pedal from Hendrix and gave it to Stevie, who used it, legend has it, on the cover of Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child” on his second album. I saw Stevie play with BB King twice at blues festivals in Dallas. The second time, 6 weeks before he died, he was set to play last, and a few traditionalists were upset that this local hotshot thought he could play after the great BB King. Stevie immediately called BB out to play, and BB took the mic and said “Stevie wanted me to play last, and I told him this is my show. I make the decisions here, and I decided that I don’t want to play after Stevie, who would? and I decided that Stevie would please close the show. Show him love, everybody.” The holdouts became instant fans, and it was a glorious show.
Yes!!! There are so many! Check out “Tin Pan Alley” with Stevie Ray featuring Johnny Copeland. Deep Blues! “Mary Had a Little Lamb,” from Austin 1989. “Life Without You” from. Capital Theater, and Couldn’t Stand the Weather” from Austin 1989, or from the Capital Theater. Can’t wait to hear your reactions!!
Yikes Stan! I finally get a new laptop and what greets me? This amazing SRV video! The El Mocambo is an old haunt of mine way back in the 70's.....yup, I'm that old....lol! It was/is a tavern/venue in Toronto that somehow managed to get incredible acts just before they really hit the big time - Meatloaf, The Cars, U2, Muddy Waters, Blondie, Cheap Trick, of course Stevie Ray.....so many to name. I think the big surprise to the El Mo's audience was in 1977 when a band advertised as The Cockroaches played a few sets there. They were actually the Rolling Stones who were in Toronto at the time, surprising the %#@* out of the crowd. Looks like I have some catching up to do with your videos! Cheers! Oh....try to react to SRV and Jeff Healey (a Toronto boy) "Look at Little Sister"
Of course. We all knew what you were going to put up on the 'Mt. Rushmore" of guitarists. Anyone who knows listens or has watched guitarists knows . What is it ? There is Jimi, there is Stevie..and then there are 'the others' And the 'others' are pretty damn good. They just aren't Jimi and SRV. That is a whole other ball game. With that said ...there are a lot of very fine guitarist and song writers over the years that have utterly amaze me. The list is nearly endless but yes those two, were in a world of their own. 100% Americana. ( A couple of others as well, across the pond as they say were pretty fine git players. ) :)
Well, if you love Jeff Healey and Stevie Ray Vaughan , then you MUST react to them doing "Look At Little Sister ". It'll make your day and you'll be genuinely happy that you got to see it. Just try it,👌💯
You nailed it… The only two I am certain of are Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan…So much feeling and passion in the music. He sings through his guitar!!
Great that you kept at it! This one deserves to stay put! This is THE guitar performance above them all. The humble magic man - he isn't on the guitar Mt. Rushmore- he is the Geronimo mountain sculpture 50 miles South in the Black Hills....check out "Crossfire" live from Austin! Loved the reaction - thank you sir!
Here is some more to react tooStevie Ray Vaughan life without you live at the Capital Theater, Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland, and his guitar sound check where he is wearing a leopard coat and look at little sister live in Austin. Now here is a few more artists to check out and their songs Lynyrd Skynyrd Freebird live at Oakland , Allman Brothers songs Whipping post , Soulshine, one way out any of the ones on the list I promise you will enjoy them
Stan, I collected every CD that Stevie and his brother, Jimmy put out. Stevie is the G.O.A.T. when it comes to blues guitarists. We do have a current blues guitarist whom was a child prodigy and is now world famous. His name his, Joe Bonamassa. Stevie is one of Joe’s greatest influences as was Gary Moore, (whom, himself is a legend). Joe is going to playing a concert near where I live. I was planning on attending it, but when I saw what the price of tickets are, (starting at $100.00 and up to $600.00) as much as I want to see Joe live, that’s just too much money. Gary started out playing blues and then switched to rock. Gary was the lead guitarist and vocalist of the 70’s rock band, Thin Lizzy. He eventually went back to his true love of playing blues music and that is what he played until his death.
I'm from Austin, Texas 🇨🇱 and loved Stevie Ray Vaughn.💯 The first time I heard "Still Got the Blues" 🔥 I was blown away!!💥🤯 Couldn't help comparing Gary Moore 🐐 to SRV 🐐 and wished they could have played together somewhere, sometime.🤗 Maybe they're playin' together now.🙏 RIP Gary and Stevie.😢❤✌
There really are so many greats that it's impossible to fit them all, but mine would be: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore, David Gilmour, Philip Sayce, Jimi Hendrix, and John Frusciante. There's also players like Jeff Healey, Albert King, Rory Gallagher, Eddie Van Halen, and a thousand others - they're all so good and have contributed in their own ways. But those are my 6 I'd put on that mountain, at least as of right now. Great reaction though my friend, this particular performance still gets me, even after watching it ~200 times. "Little Wing @ the El Mocambo" or "Life Without You @ Capitol Theatre" are even more mind-blowing than this in my opinion. He'll always be the guitarist that convinced me to go out and actually learn guitar, and it's become an integral part of my soul at this point.
Little known facts... one... yes he sounds like Jimmi Hendrix... that's cuase he's... 1. Using Jimis whawha pedal! They were Great friends! His family gave it to him! 2. Jimi played a right hand guitar lefthanded! Therefore his whammy bar was on top! Stevie put his on top too! 3. Sadly he joined the GOATS club by passing way too soon! Like him and jimi there's also Randy Rhoads!
Chuck Berry... Jimi Hendrix... Eddie Van Halen. This is the pantheon. It's the mount Rushmore of Guitar. The guys that revolutionized guitar in a way that turned the music world on its ear, and had them spending the next decade trying to catch up. Guys like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Paige are insanely skilled, but didn't really do anything revolutionary. They were simply masters of an already established craft.
NOBODY PLAY'S LIKE STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
STEVIE picked up where JIMI left OFF! 😍🎸🔥😍🎸🔥😍🎸🔥😍🎸🔥😍🎸🔥😍🔥
He's my favorite musician ever.
You've just seen the GOAT, brother!
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 THE goat of all goats
**Life Without You at Capitol Theater **
**Anything from Austin City Limits 1989**
