i watched the egyptian serie Rayya & Sakina ( for non arabic speakers it's not dubbed in english unfortunately), it was a big success in arab countries. the actors were really convincing in their roles especially Abla Kamel ( who played Rayya) the gang were all wicked and heartless they killed women who were their friends and neighbours who had 100% trust in them, Rayya despised these women while she was acting like she was a dedicated true friend. with the gang Orabi killed his girlfriend Nazla abu Leil , Abdelrazek killed his girlfriend Anissa after she badmouted him for stealing from her, they weren't targeting the women in the Market they barely know as you said they needed women who knew them for years who had blind trust in them and those who were preferably with no family to ask after them , Rayya often sent her daughter Badiaa to bring the victim home with her, Badiaa died in hospital from tuberculosis aged 13/14 ( there were no fire in the orphanage, it was a rumor, a certain egyptian Mr Tarek Fathy ( he has a youtube channel) is dedicated to the case and showed her death certificate from the hospital ( to end the conspirancy about the fire in orpahanage and victim family revenge), she was stunted and suffering from her lungs since she was a small child because of poor alimentation/bad living conditions with her family. There is even a Book relating their true story ( the men of Rayya and Sakina) and a movie too made in the 50s ( altough the movie is not relating the true story) but the serie is based on the book

Because it wasn’t actually an entire house of theirs. There were two main crime scenes, both of which were merely rented rooms in a large house inhabited by other lessees. This makes bringing somebody in, quietly suffocating them, and burying under the ground much harder. In some of the incidents of Raya and Skina’s victims, Raya would actually sit in front of the door of her room (frying some potatoes and eggplants) to cover up the sounds of the axes and digging.

There are lots of picture of the victims found in those hole of the basement , really horrific one and sad , it seem they killed two women in one day , because they were in a hurry they buried them together in a shallow grave under their basement , when the bodies were found those to women were stocked together , so it was really hard to identify them. Yikes 😱

Everyone in the Arabic speaking world knows about the sister serial killers of Alexandria. There have been many books, plays, movies, tv series about them.
