    The magnets were a great idea! Just put some on mine and it makes setup so much easier. Thanks!

    If you don't have a magnetic door, or if you are worried about using magnets I think a velcro patch could work great for something like this. I plan to try that out on my garage door as well. Thank you for the video man - this is great!

    • @trpl_bgy
      @trpl_bgy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Love the comment! I actually started with Velcro but alignment was different every time as the velcrow didn’t attach square or steady each time.
      I have tested signal with and without magnets and can confirm it has zero effect for me on performance.

      Also, another great solution is using a threaded camera wall mount. Someone told me the bottom of the MLM accepts a treaded connection. They use this so the position is solid and never changes due to not having a metal door!

      @@trpl_bgy interesting. That’s a great idea. I’ll check out the magnets. I just got my unit a couple days ago and have been fiddling with the connection. My WiFi kind of sucks in the garage and will be using a WiFi extender to try and increase the signal. I don’t have a PC in the garage as it’s set up as a hybrid space (gym, retractable net, storage etc.)

      Sure thing! I will keep you updated. Ive had no issues and am many months in at this point. I did think early on and thought I could insulate more between the magenta and the device by creatinf a magnetic mount of sorts or using a window mount for a phone or something. But this works really well at the moment and if stops I'll be 1st to report.

    Keep up the great content. It’s always so helpful.
    Quick question on the mlm2 alignment. I’m using your magnet idea (which is awesome). What part of the unit needs to be aligned with the hitting mat since you have taken it off the tripod? Can you just use the height that gives you the best “yellow box” on your hitting strip? Thanks!

    • @trpl_bgy
      @trpl_bgy  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Very kind. Ty. The tripod stand elevates it 5.75” above surface. My hitting surface is 2” above my floor (hitting mat 2.5” - .5” floor = 2”). I have .25 drop from where I hit to where it’s mounted due to my garage floor slope.
      So from the spot I mount it. I took 5.75” (tripod) + 2” (matt thickness above floor) + .25 (incline/elevation) = 8”
      I have the bottom of the MLM2 sitting at 8” above my floor measured at the spot it’s mounted which is 7.5’ from strike point.
      I also “shimmed” the door and made sure the MLM was “Plum” (not leaning forward or backward). I did this by adding a couple of layers of electrical tape on one magnet to get the top and bottom magnet on plum plane.
      It has an accelerometer so that’s not the most important thing. But the location of the yellow box depends on that camera angle.
      My hitting box is purely measured and not visual using the MLM. I measured 6.5’ to 8’ and made it 1’ wide.

    MLM2Pro beginner here. So, you plug your rhapsodo directly to your tablet and then mirror? I didn't know you could do that, so am I understanding you correctly? The magnet idea is brilliant. Keep posting please. Thanks

      Great Question:
      Rapsodo --> Plug to Power
      Rapsodo --> Direct Wifi connect to Tablet (only wifi connection in set up, between MLM and Tablet, no internet)
      Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite --> Plug to Computer (Screen Mirror USB) via Samsung Flow
      Samsung Flow (In my opinion) is best most stable screen mirror out there and native to the Samsung Tablet. Getting a samsung tablet for my set up changed everything. Eliminated need for internet and network connection which eleviated all the connection issues you hear people mention.

    can you do a video describing exactly how your android tablet is set up to communicate with your PC and running GSPRO? I have a decent gaming laptop already, but not a tablet. I am assuming if you are just using the tablet as a communication bridge that it doesn't need to be very powerful, since the PC running GSPRO is doing all the heavy lifting? It would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if you've covered this already.

      New video dropping this afternoon showing a new direct Bluetooth connection to the PC. I would recommend bypassing the now “older” tablet OCR bridge if able and going straight to Bluetooth. I also have a video on channel of an existing Bluetooth connection that works great and is already available to try.

    How high above ball position can the lm be located and still pick up the ball? I am considering retrofitting my theater into a theater/golf sim and I currently have stadium seating. The rear section is 12" tall and that is where the LM would be positioned.

    • @trpl_bgy
      @trpl_bgy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Need the LM to be positioned level height to the hitting area. Can not have it above or below. So hitting area elevation is a zero point and LM needs to be at that same elevation equal to. In my case my hitting matt is raised and the LM sits behind me so i have to raise the LM the same amount my hitting matt raises my strike area.
      In your case a GC3, Bushnell Launch Pro, Uneekor Eye Mini, or any overhead unit would work better.

    just found your channel its a great resource had my mlm2 since june..recently changed my internet and the wifi extender and around the same time started to have problems..my club speed is reading 20 mph fast on average and my smash factor has dropped below 1.0 to match for the distance which doesnt seem to be affected..im also getting lots of disconnects and it used to be very stable, i sent the bug data through to rapsodo and they got back to me saying that they think a magnetic field is interfereing with the radar function..so when i seen you using magnets on the back of your mlm2 i thought WTF..have you come across anyone with similar issues?

    • @trpl_bgy
      @trpl_bgy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I gotta say, i wondered if i might see issues come up someday but 5 months of it being mounted this way and I have nearly no mis-reads at this point. They are not large magnets or very powerfull but not sure..
      I have great home internet (fiber with google mesh 1 gig up and down) but when i connect through my home wireless mesh to the MLM i have issues. However, i found when i Direct connect i have nearly none. SO i have to believe my issues are related to how it communicates over the home network to the device. Routers, switches, firewalls, or something I believe does not like the way it passes data and my connection drops and blue lights stall out...

    So you don’t have your tablet to wifi, just do direct connect?
    When you play gspro, do you have your tablet connected to home wifi then? I guess you wouldn’t need it because the connector is just reading the data through screen share.
    So probably the only time you would HAVE to have it is to authenticate 3rd party like Awesome Golf.

    • @trpl_bgy
      @trpl_bgy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are spot on! I FORGET my home network so it can't. Intentionally create a air gap there so the only network it knows is the MLM. Stops it from uploading videos while I play and has zero chances of searching out for Internet. I found it stabilized my connection. You are also right for third-party apps. You would need to have Internet. I don’t have cellular on this tablet so Direct connect would not work, I would have to use network connection for those.

    Came here to say height plays no role in accuracy. That’s why the unit sits on a stand.

    • @trpl_bgy
      @trpl_bgy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment. It absolutely does in that it changes the hit area the camera is angled at and is the starting point for the shot. A unit below level surface with strike area will have a smaller hit box than a unit above. It will also be closer when unit is lower and further when unit is higher. It’s on a stand because if it sat on the ground the camera would need to point at a different angle amongst many other reasons.
