Webcames only need USB 2.0, the issue with length you were having can be solved with a "Active" USB extension cable. you can easilly go 30+ ft with an active cable in the mix. or a powered USB hub in between the PC and the Webcam to help trasfer more power / increase stability. I have my webcam about ~40 ft of cable from my pc, i do USB active cable to USB power hub in my basement, thats 25 ft of cable. then a usb extension that is 10ft + the webcam cable. works flawlessly.
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks man. Would love a video about your sim set up! My hitting mat sets on top of my turf so it’s not the best for putting. Looking to move more in your direction this spring.
Very impressed with your entire setup. I appreciate the detail that you have put in your videos. Slightly off-topic question. I notice you gave a lot of specs for other items, computer, sim, all things golf related....I'd love to duplicate your desk setup. Can you provide me with the manufacturer or where you may have purchased your desk and cabinet accessories? Thanks for your time!!
So does the webcam putting add accuracy into GSPro? I’ve never been successful putting on GSPro with my Mevo plus. It mis reads or will just random put on its own when setting up to out.
I love it and believe yes it does or can. You need to get it set up correctly which requires 2 things. 1. A contrasting floor/ball color 2. Consistent lighting illuminating the area that you take your putts. Ability to shut a shade if there's a window and control the light so that each time you play the light in the room is similar. (more important in a dark room than a bright room). This is important because color or hue the application tracks and detects as the ball can change if the lighting changes dramatically from one session to the next. Most everyone i've helped has gotten it to work so don't want to scare you on this :) Slight variation is ok and normal. It feels really real as you can adjust the stimp of your application to match the floor of your room. In effect you can calibrate it so that the right speeds get sent in to gspro. When set up correctly it is by far my favorite way to put. And if you check out my overhead floor projection video, putting with webcam floor projection is next level!

Just saw this video and it inspired me to get a webcam so I can putt on my garmin R10 through gspro. But I’m having some trouble getting the webcam to read putts once I start hitting them over 7-8’ in my sim room. Any suggestions or other videos that could help? Huge fan of your page. It has helped me a lot setting up my first golf sim. You mentioned you can mount the web cam to the wall... how exactly would that work since the camera has a side view and not above view? Would following the setup in your video work just as well?
Thank you for the comment, compliment, and question. Glad it has helped. If mount to wall you need to relocate over to the wall to putt.. that was what I didn’t love about it but it does work well. I mount overhead so I can put where I hit from.

Nice video again. I have my camera set up from my ceiling also and putt pretty much just to the side of my hitting area so I putt of smooth turf not worn out by my iron shots. Do you think the height of the webcam influences the accuracy of the putting app? I have been trying to keep it at around 8ft but if even higher isn't a problem that will solve some issues for me. Thanks
No vibration issues for me. I have it mounted to one of the arms on the ceiling mount. Lower height would in theory get better light but if you can still dial in tracking from higher it should function just as well. I like your idea of having smooth turf to put on! I may need to think up a way to integrate for myself!
I have t used it. But I’ve been told you can use springboks connector. Choose Mevo for launch monitor. And use webcam in conjunction with the Mevo. Checkout my springbok Bluetooth connector video and there is some discussion in the comments. The connector does support the Mevo +
@@trpl_bgy Appreciate the follow-up/response! I was able to get it working although it required access to the FS Golf PC app ($99 one-time purchase) to make it seamless via PC. Your channel is my spirit animal! I love everything you put out & you have been an incredible source of inspiration for my current garage build. A couple questions: Do you find that colored balls work better for webcam putting? Did you notice a tangible difference between the various webcam resolutions/fps or is it more along the lines of it either works / or it doesn't? Curious if it's worth the premium to get a 1080p/60fps or 4k/30fps vs 1080p/30fps (ie: more accurate, less misreads, better visual overlay, etc). Thanks!
@@glossolalian Thank you! So yes, colored balls are a MUST. I tested many and the linked ones in description are what I’ve had best luck with and ball has soft feel to it like premium ball feels. For the camera. It’s really about how well the camera picks up colors in low light. If your sim room is really dark you might need a better low light cam. But honestly I haven’t found one that doesn’t work. Higher frames can be better but also more frames = less light able to get to sensor because frame open less time. To simplify the answer.. I’m using my 30 fps one permanently because I wanted my 60 for content shots. I have no issues with my 30fps. None. So far, I’ve tried 4 differentl cams and I’ve been able to make them all work with orange colored ball and green floor turf.
GS Pro manual mentions putt mode in it. Do we need to check any box or slider in either the Rapsodo app or GS Pro after you get your webcam settngs and FPS dialed in and your ball is being recognized as it should? I ask because I am on the green and putting is not working for me. Probably just missing something simple.

How do find the springbok connector for accuracy on yhe MlmPro2. There seams to be some issues with it when set up for Mevo+. The offline deviation on the GS pro is way off what the FS Golf app reads
The connector sends the numbers exactly as they are sent in the Rapsodo software, so in that sense, the connector works perfectly. However, GSpro has its own flight algorithms and I tend believe they are more realistic. I do notice a little bit more curvature in GS pro but again, the data is the same in both places. I have GS pro on force realistic in settings.
My webcam doesn’t activate with any of the camera id’s 0-7, any tips on what else I might do? Webcam is c922 and works fine with the Logitech app. Thanks
Make sure you don’t have the camera open in any other apps. As in don’t have the logitech app open or the camera app on the PC because the WebCam can only be active in one place at one time.
This might be an oversimplified question but bear with me 😁. Are you opening putting with the connector on say an auto start? Do you get a “ball tracking” window on the screen with no device message? Or just no open at all? 2 things (pry not the case) 1. Make sure all files are still in original folder together. The icon to open the connector and all files must still be in same folder. 2. (Silly but must say) the app auto-hides putting until putter is selected as a club. Could it be simply hidden?
Yes, I’m opening with auto start and the putting says it’s running but I don’t get a window opening at all regardless of camera 0-7. I have gone into the app and tried to putt selecting putter but still nothing happens. I am executing the app from a copy that I moved to my desktop as I thought that you weren’t supposed to run it from the source files.
@@rlfloyd01 this could be the fix. Copy the unzipped folder to desktop and keep all files together. Then run the app. If you copied the app to the desktop it can not “find” the executable for the ball tracking to run nor can it save or execute any settings. Need all files in original folder to work. The folder can be moved to desktop but no files can be added or removed from the unzipped folder. If you want a desktop icon you can “create a shortcut” of the executable file and move ONLY the shortcut to the desktop. Give that a try. Also you have to select putter within GSPro to change it on the connector and pop up the putting window. To clarify and confirm, you do want to run the exe from the source files and from within the unzipped folder package.
Ah ok so its not live on your floor. I see they sell soemthing like that but its expensive. Would there be a way to project a putting line with a cheap projector maybe?🤔

The reason 30 fps works well for your setup is probably because how high your camera is. It will take a long time for the ball to leave the cameras field of view. The lower your camera, the more necessary a 60fps model.

What is your spot light.
Great question! Link in video description for the pin light
What was projecting the lines on your mat?
OBS. Software for streaming. Pretty fun effect to lay that camera down on the turf for content :)
Ah ok so its not live on your floor. I see they sell soemthing like that but its expensive. Would there be a way to project a putting line with a cheap projector maybe?🤔
You said this works for serval launch monitors but will it work for skytrack +?
I'll check and follow up. Uncertain at the moment. Will get back soon! Thank you for asking.
Where do i find the software for the camera to work with mlm

@@trpl_bgy i got everything set up but the api for mevo i used to have shows up stils how do i get the open api on gs
need to contact GSPro support to switch license to API version. Should be able to reach out and have it done quickly.
Does anyone know why my webcam settings (gamma, saturation, gain, contrast etc.) revert back to default everytime the ball tracking app starts?
Is that an actuall box and line on your mat, or is that just a video effect?
Unfortunately it’s video editing effect overlaying/blending the putting view on to the floor to demonstrate how it functions. Would be amazing to have projected!
The reason 30 fps works well for your setup is probably because how high your camera is. It will take a long time for the ball to leave the cameras field of view. The lower your camera, the more necessary a 60fps model.
@@MattyRedPants i believe this is spot on! I am currently in 60 fps again and utilized the zoom feature as it masks better when closer. But I agree. Thank you for the comment and for watching!
I keep getting the error “false exit after the ball”. Have you ever had this?
Usually means it could not follow the ball exclusively, picked up anomalies after the ball moved. Need to tweak the settings to isolate the ball
I cant get it to work. any idea why I keep getting the message replay cam not activated
Sorry to hear. Thanks for reaching out. What LM, which mobile device, and what connector? This is putting in to GSPro correct?
@@trpl_bgy yeah I'm using the web cam putting with a Mevo. I ended up reinstall it and got it to work. I can putt up to 40-45 ft. Do you get a better read on longer putts with a faster balls speed with a 60ffps camera ?
