Had a weird chattering malfunction. commented on a singlecams video where their dewalt appeared to do the same. it was mentioned that the socket had jammed on the nut which was causing the same problem.
used the larger 899 with a 33mm socket to remove semi wheel nuts before but the mid torque needed a tighter fitting socket (1-5/16") to remove the nut as the looser tolerance 33mm stuck to the nut.
Not exactly sure why this happens but I think possibly the stuck socket effects the harmonics of the spring and hammer mechanism. the 899 has a larger mechanism so maybe not as vulnerable.
a similar thing can occur in a inertia semi auto shotgun if not held correctly causing failure to feed because the shotgun moves from recoil differently than designed and the internal parts do not move as they should.

Was actually suprised it took it off. That trailer has been sitting for prob 3 years and who knows how long before that the wheels were off

How much of the battery is left after that long drill ?

Actually it still had bars if i remember correctly. I used that impact to take off and put on nuts on two sets of duals with a 9ah battery and it wasn't depleted totally. Those ones had just been off a couple weeks before mind you

Your bending the sides of lug s over with the metric and the socket is teying to bend the aides flat the hammer is still hammering the lug is whats making gun sound like that nand show the importance of having standard and metric for a reason there not trying to ripp u off now they did when they started with meteic in America cars in the late 80s

They are very close to the same size but not close enough apparently. Have seen both sizes used with a 1" air impact for Tire work. Probably exacerbated by a smaller impact mechanism, thick surface rust and perhaps my 33mm is a bit worn.
