FROM ALL THE IMPACT WRENCH VIDEOS I HAVE SEEN ,,,,,,,,,,,,, THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER SEEN AN IMPACT SOCKET SPLIT . THESE NEW IMPACT WRENCHES HAVE MORE POWER THAN ANYONE COULD HAVE EVER EXPECTED . GREAT JOB TO YOUR CHANNEL FOR BRINGING IT TO THE MASSES THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND EFFORT .
Glad to see one on the channel, wish this channel got the attention it deserves, I get it you don’t play the game, but as much as I love ttc, nothing beats real world tests, seeing the puff of rust colored mist tells me that it is similar to something I’d see in Indiana. Your channel really does bring a ton of value regarding impact wrenches and their performance, and it’s not going completely unnoticed. Would anyone disagree that there realistically arent any fasteners on a standard passenger vehicle this thing shouldn’t be able to rip off? even with a swivel or extension on it?
All most got the DCF961 back in OCTOBER but ACME was taking too long had it on ORDER for 4 plus weeks now will get it when it Becomes the 964 3/4 Drive
So there are two main reasons why you shouldn’t use chrome sockets with an impact. 1. Chrome sockets aren’t meant to take blows from an impact like the softer metal of an impact socket. As such, they are likely to crack or even shatter under a strong enough impact. 2. Since the metal on the chrome sockets is pretty hard, it will also damage the anvil.
Anyone looking to get that impact all I can say is get it. With the 5ah power stack it's got 2000lbs brake away. I use mine with my 12ah flex volt battery and I swear it's all of that. Easily the strongest impact in the heavy duty shop I work in. It scares everyone when it hit VTEC mode which is after like 4 seconds of it hasn't broken the bolt free it turns up the power in a very noticable way.
@Chachi2uSIR But nobody is gonna do that. So if you're having to pay for it on your own, like ALL of us in the real world, you buy what you can afford. That Hercules is a great impact & is a bargain for what it can do. I have the latest Milwaukee, but I wouldn't be against using the Hercules.
Couldn't get the bolt off of my j30A1 today, used a mid-torque and a friend's 3/4, however I don't think any of those tools compared to the might of the DCF961B.. going to order one this week and see if I can get the bolt off.
Suggestions to you, singlecams: Replace the Crankshaft Bolt. Replace that motor mount (3:00) & other too if defective. Replace all belts Well done. Shown what the real world by doing it when you don't have all the correct tools & without editing. Gotta love people complained for being so long. Try do it yourself if you didn't see any video
I would suggest not to tighten it with an impact, It happened to me that I had to rent a stronger/bigger impact wrench than what I normally use after I used it to tighten a crank bolt in a Toyota (even after I made sure just to put very few seconds of impacting); I learned this happens a lot in fine thread bolts, where the torque climbs rapidly when impacted; this can even damage the crank threads.
I’m working on changing the water pump and timing on my son 2005 civic right now but with the electric impact wrench that I got it just not enough torque so I definitely need a new one oh by the way I also using the special crank socket just to hold it still
I destroyed my chrome sockets thinking with an extension it would limit the torque enough......i was wrong. Now my extension has a twist in it and the socket is over there, over there, up here and under there.......my bad
Impacts are usually Cromoly. I can see that impact you have says chrome vanadium. chromoly impacts are meant to flex more and are used by Snap-on , Wright, Koken, Proto and Cornwell among others. Usually chrome vanadium does not hold up to impacts very well. There are some much more expensive alloys that bigger companies will use to produce chrome vanadium impacts. Hazet and Gedore have special alloy chrome vanadium. Usually if youre buying very cheap impacts from China its best to go with Chromoly as they probably arent using a more expensive chrome vanadium alloy.
My comment on the previous video serves me right lmao I have a dfc961b and they can easily break sockets aswell as bolts that are grade 8, m20 in size. Just a tip it will get more power and runtime with a 9 ah flex volt battery and remember to always use two hands this shit will break ur wrist if held with one hand hope u have a great rest of your day 🤣🤣🤘
To me my experience and comentari is Why is not 3/4 impact wrench, is why I jus bought the Hercules 3/4 more torque and more safe tool because when you use 3/4 socket never have broken any 😢, good power but not for a 1/2 sae sockets, nice video ❤
They actually make a specialised weight socket specially for that bolt, for that exact problem, the wall is 4 times thicker than a standard impact socket cuz it's weighted it transfer the energy from the impact better, do a search for Honda crank bolt socket😊
That socket was meant for lug nuts, and probably chinese, big mistake.Notice the thin wall? And the threads are inside not the head of the bolt.Talk about amateur hour lol.
Good showing of the impact, but try and condence your videos. No need for 7:55 to slacken a bolt with an impact wrench. It's not like a full review. Could have been done in a shorts. Just saying, no offense.

nothing beats real world tool testing, keep on making these vid

chrome sockets are NOT IMPACT RATED EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! people need to learn what tools are for what!
I use impacts at work daily for hours. I have split many many impact rated sockets with air guns.
@@masonkaye5Switch to a better brand than, I use a somewhat cheap brand here in Canada called Maximum, never broke one ever
That's why I don't use thin wall sockets unless I have to. Lol

Appreciate you always providing us with real-world testing 👍🏽

The mother of all impacts
So there are two main reasons why you shouldn’t use chrome sockets with an impact.

Took Honda crank bolt off yesterday with my new Hercules 2nd generation 1500 torch 1/2 inch in about 5 seconds...it's insane!!!!
If somebody gave you this one and the one that you have, which one would you take?
@Chachi2uSIR
But nobody is gonna do that. So if you're having to pay for it on your own, like ALL of us in the real world, you buy what you can afford. That Hercules is a great impact & is a bargain for what it can do. I have the latest Milwaukee, but I wouldn't be against using the Hercules.
best way to test tools great video .
I have this same impact it’s a beast I work on heavy equipment and it does the job
I have DeWalts DCF964 and it’s a freaking Monster!
Right tool right job. Needs an impact rated socket
Couldn't get the bolt off of my j30A1 today, used a mid-torque and a friend's 3/4, however I don't think any of those tools compared to the might of the DCF961B.. going to order one this week and see if I can get the bolt off.
If you look up the video of the mplus it pulled a j30 bolt. it pulled 2 but 1 on video. The title of vid is "most insane impact wrencg deal on amazon"
Suggestions to you, singlecams: Replace the Crankshaft Bolt. Replace that motor mount (3:00) & other too if defective.
Replace all belts
Well done. Shown what the real world by doing it when you don't have all the correct tools & without editing.
Gotta love people complained for being so long. Try do it yourself if you didn't see any video
Do you think the old DeWALT DCF899 would’ve even had a chance?
Yes but will take longer.
I have the 899, and it'll do it
Why is the belt still on the pulley?
I would suggest not to tighten it with an impact, It happened to me that I had to rent a stronger/bigger impact wrench than what I normally use after I used it to tighten a crank bolt in a Toyota (even after I made sure just to put very few seconds of impacting); I learned this happens a lot in fine thread bolts, where the torque climbs rapidly when impacted; this can even damage the crank threads.
I feel like this is how shit goes when I work with my car, rusted bolts are no joke
I’m working on changing the water pump and timing on my son 2005 civic right now but with the electric impact wrench that I got it just not enough torque so I definitely need a new one oh by the way I also using the special crank socket just to hold it still
Please make another video on the dcf961
Great vid, just purchased this 961
Out of curiosity, did you try your DCF900 on this bolt at all?
961 has way more jam.
Will it work on Honda Accord.?? Greating s from Guatemala...
I destroyed my chrome sockets thinking with an extension it would limit the torque enough......i was wrong. Now my extension has a twist in it and the socket is over there, over there, up here and under there.......my bad

I’m looking at getting 1 of these
Wait so on the first try it was just skipping all the time because of the cracked socket?
yes it was just spinning and destroying the head of the bolt.Because its a thin walled lug nut socket..
Well done!
Thats why you use impact sockets, not reg chrome ones
To me my experience and comentari is Why is not 3/4 impact wrench, is why I jus bought the Hercules 3/4 more torque and more safe tool because when you use 3/4 socket never have broken any 😢, good power but not for a 1/2 sae sockets, nice video ❤
Expect that dewalt has more power than the Hercules 3/4 😂
They actually make a specialised weight socket specially for that bolt, for that exact problem, the wall is 4 times thicker than a standard impact socket cuz it's weighted it transfer the energy from the impact better, do a search for Honda crank bolt socket😊
lisle crank bolt socket
True
I did my gm 5.3 crank bolt with my dewalt 891 mid torque 🙃
3:00 That Motor Mount is SHOT.
first time seeing it done without a weighted socket.
That socket was meant for lug nuts, and probably chinese, big mistake.Notice the thin wall? And the threads are inside not the head of the bolt.Talk about amateur hour lol.
That crank bolt was parked at the bow of the Titantic and has also somehow seen more heat cycles than the surface of the sun...😂
chrome sockets are NOT IMPACT RATED EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! people need to learn what tools are for what!
Shut up you tart
Correct, I have a black set, ad chrome set for two different reasons lol
The 900 would have gotten it as well but would have taken a lot longer and possibly ruined the second socket.
I guess there is a First time witnessing everything... Had only heard how difficult they were on Honda seeing that socket snapped brought it home
That socket was the wrong application especially with the 961.
Honestly, this impact needs a 3/4 anvil for the torque its putting out.
I need this gun asap
Why do you have 1000 different impacts?
Cause there awesome
Your turning the bolt counterclockwise. You just told us you have to turn it clockwise to lossen it!
omg so when using high torgue impact, need to buy quality nutes
Good showing of the impact, but try and condence your videos. No need for 7:55 to slacken a bolt with an impact wrench. It's not like a full review. Could have been done in a shorts. Just saying, no offense.
a coworker of mine at the stealership just got one of these and ended up tweaking his wrist. careful with the 961 people
Working on cars is crap better just to pay someone
Very good lady the first sockit his a weel sockit never mind you doing good love ❤❤😂😂😅
hello, this was a vidoe. anyway i was wondering when will you do a fart compilation
Socket must have been American made ! Better buy British ! 🇬🇧👍
American made sockets are the best wtf? Are talking about
Michael Jackson ahhh voice
He he
Wrong socket
Chrome mol
A female tutorial is not suggested to take seriously 😂😂
Learn to use the correct socket before you embarrass yourself
Put an F ing jackstand, cinder block, anything under that car. Pleeeease.
Rip pulley bolt
This is why women dont normally work on cars or use power tools
