  • Chad Wesley Smith hits up a squat workout with Mark Bell and Silent Mike and goes over how he sets up for the squat, how he uses high bar squats and other variations, and brags about how gosh darned strong he is.

690lb for 9 reps on squats?!?!
Not even mad, that's just impressive.

***** I guess if you make TH-cam videos you are not allowed to have any other interests or comment on anything else.
Not trying to be bossy or condescending, but I think maybe we all should dial it a bit back. There isn't any reason to make things personal or go off topic here. I doubt Silent Mike appreciates his inbox getting cluttered with this stuff. He might talk about taints every five minutes, but if we actually want him to read and take replies seriously we might want to lay off. Besides, a video on Lego sounds pretty cool to me. Heck, Mike Matei spent about ten minutes talking about them with AlphaOmegaSin the other day.

Thank you Chad Wesley, been squatting for almost 2 years and never quite found my form, it changed every time. but i made one tiny change to my form (pulling elbows together from the top position) and it's made the fluidity of my heavier squats much better. Felt great!

I always heard you guys talk about getting tight when setting up for the squat. The way Chad explained it and demonstrated it on Silent Mike made something click in my brain.
I have since prioritized getting my back as tight as possible. As a result, my hands are much closer together and my bar position has moved up a bit higher on my back . My squat feels SOO much better. I feel much more solid under the bar now.
Thx so much guys for doing what you do.
