The real question is: What is the purpose of the machines? We know that they use humans as energy source or processing power, but what is the Machine`s purpose? Machine existentialism.
I think one of the things that makes the first matrix such a good movie is how it's a superhero origin story of sorts for neo, we see him slowly become more and more powerful as the movie progresses and by the end he's the become the one, the hero.
I just watched matrix 1 again not knowing y’all were going to make this podcast so soon. Lol 2 and 3 on the way seen them all twice but not for a few years.

I never thought much of the scene with mirror taking over neo but it's like he was start to feel his reality of being covered in goo and something down his throat (like someone is waking you up but in your dream it's something completely different)... Also the Oracle tells neo to watch out for the vase Before he breaks it and asks "if I didn't say anything wouldn't you still have broken it?"
