Hayden Christiansen is a great actor. I feel bad for how he was treated. He did the best he could with the script he was given. Lucas even said that he gave a perfect performance. It was exactly how he envisioned it.
one thing i love about the prequels is how they pay attention to the lightsaber duels. the final battle between obi-wan and anakin is possibly my favorite star wars battle and i think it's an amazing way to close out this era. Would love to win the poster!
On the last Darth Vader (2017) issue that I‘ve read, whenever Vader meditates, he‘s depicted as a floating silhouette with both the dark and the light side. (Spoilers below) Towards the end of the comic, it shows that Anakin, as a child, was filled with the dark side of the force, but it was only when he got married to Padmé did the light side of the force started manifesting. It’s on issue 25 of the Darth Vader 2017 comics, which takes place immediately after Episode 3. It‘s worth a read especially if you guys want to see his climb up the ladder from sith apprentice to sith lord
Episode III is the best one in my opinion. There was a lot of emotion especially towards the end with that epic battle scene. And you can’t forget the younglings scene, I think about that scene all the time. And you can’t forget that epic first breath Darth Vader takes.
Recently rewatched the prequels last month for live audio commentaries and while they have some CGI being dated, some iffy writing and performances and some character development, i enjoy a lot of things about it. Definitely respect the high definition camera revolution with this trilogy
The Empire Strikes Back is not only but my favorite Star Wars, but it’s my favorite film ever. One of my local theatres reopened last summer during the pandemic last summer and I was able to see ESB. It was amazing to see it on the big screen and plus I took my girlfriend who had never seen it and she really enjoyed it! Keep up the great work boys!
I love how count dooku goes by that name when in the presents of the republic, but to his master and when he’s going on secret missions he keeps his sith name Darth Tyranus. It is so smart by him, and if you watch the clone wars to, then it will show just how long it took for the Jedi to figure out they were the same person.
1. Empire Strikes back- Great cinematography and story ark with one of films greatest twist of all time 2. Rouge one- gave those same vibes of when a new hope first hit theaters and with original characters and canon accurate information and finally 3. Revenge of the sith- speechless for its music scores and cinematography. Love this podcast! 🔥
It was actually 1,064.75829 lightsabers for Grevious. Jokes aside, one of his lightsabers was Sifo Diyas’s, the Jedi who ordered the clone army, if you recall AOTC.
One of the best scenes in the trilogy is the "opera scene" in Revenge of the Sith between Anakin and Palpatine. The level of manipulation in the scene from Palpatine, and Anakin's shame when he's called out being tasked to be a spy, all the while, the great cinematography, visuals, and music, great acting between Christensen and McDiarmid.
Love the podcast, been making my way though them all whilst revising this past week. Great to see how the studio has grown. Just ordered from manscaped too so yours ads clearly work!
Revenge of the Sith is on my top 10 all time favorite movie list, and I love the prequel trilogy. The concluding light saber duels in The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith were epic.
Palpatine’s Sith ugly face wasn’t caused in the Sith lightning deflected by mace windu in that scene in his office. In the revenge of the sith novelization by Matthew Stover, Palpatine looks into a mirror while Anakin is on his knees and in shock. Palpatine examines himself in the mirror and says, “and now the mask becomes the man,” or something like that, I don’t remember it completely. This shows that Palpatine was using the darkside to hide his real face. 👍👍👍
The song playing when Qui-Gon and Darth Maul are fighting is “Dual of Fates,” symbolizing that they are fighting for the fate of Anikan Skywalker. Darth Maul winning foreshadows the dark path that ultimately consumes Anikan and I love that about the prequels.
I love how we get to see the beginning of the entire franchises’ main villain and how we could also sympathize with one of the most notorious movie villains in history.
I'm not sure if you guys actually read these comments but i think it would be a cool idea to let your pateron supports ask questions about movies and yall make a video answering those questions on this channel i think that would be a lot of fun. also just fantastic job on this podcast its definitely my favorite podcast ever thanks for everything yall do
Dude love the vid, especially the intermission/trivia stuff, you guys should do that more often. Fav movie btw is empire strikes back. Ps. Y’all should do upgrade, it’s like a horror/sci-fi, hella good.
Palpatine has a force ability that allows him to suppress his force connection and it hides his physical alterations from extended use of the dark side. The lightning being reflected at him in Episode 3 just made him release this ability to show his true form. The dark side decays the appearance of the user, kinda the like the Ring from LOTR.
Love your channel guys and revenge of the sith is my favourite star wars film, it has a bit of everything for me, great action, an effective tragic story, fantastic musical score and solid acting even from hayden christensen
Favorite movie is Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. Super happy you guys did this episode! I love the podcast - listen to every episode and LOVE it! And I really love when you guys do starwars episode. The prequels are my favorite out of all three sets of trilogies and but I agree with you - it 100% has bad screen writing / some acting. Honestly, you clean up the lines and add some more visual plot points about Palpatine finessing the Jedi order and these movies are a low key masterpiece. The biggest issue is that all the "plot points" that Lucas was trying to show are really difficult to understand as the casual fan / just watching one of the individual movies. These things (i.e. Jedis being blind, Anakin needing love and support of a father figure, government being corrupt) are there but it wasn't illustrated well so it's hard to understand. For example: - The original trilogy was supposed to be a time piece about the Vietnam war with the Empire being the United States and the rest of the developing world (specifically Vietnam) being the "rebels". - When you look at the Phantom Menace especially - its a piece on American politics as well. George Lucas is making a point about how American politics is so corrupt and difficult that it's impossible to actually accomplish anything. And how with this, people all over the US and the world struggle. Disney+ has a round table (focused more on Mandalorian) where Dave Filoni talks about Starwars and you can see how Dave Filoni really is able to deliver the vision that George Lucas has. That's why most really big Starwars fan really like the Clone Wars, Rebels, and Mandalorian. Dave is able to take the vision that George has and execute it. What I hope for the Bad Batch (releasing tomorrow) and the Kenobi show, is that the vision is illustrated well. Much love to the podcast, I tune in every episode and love what you guys do!!!
I thought the storyline was fantastic… However, the dialogue throughout the prequels was rushed. You guys are amazing! Keep up the hard work, love the content 🤙🏼
Another amazing episode! As for my favorite prequel movie, I'm going to have to say the revenge of the sith, mainly because it has one of the best lightsaber fights in the entire cinematic universe.
Favorite Film: Blade Runner 2049. Interesting episode. I agree with you guys for the most part most of the time. I had a few things i disagreed with on this episode, but nothing big.
U guys have to try and do a review on tenet I just watched for the first time a couple days ago and I’ve been hooked on trying to figure this movie out I’m on my like 4or5 time watching it
In the novels, it’s said that Obi Wan wasn’t talented with the force. He almost wasn’t picked as a padiwan because of it. However, he worked harder than any other padiwan and grew his skill to a level that was almost unparalleled. He is said to be the greatest known master of Form 3, Soresu. The ultimate defensive form. Dooku’s form is the only form that has an advantage over Soresu.
The prequel trilogy will always be the Star Wars I grew up with. I personally adored the transformation from Anakin to Vader (especially in revenge of the sith). The prequels received far too much hate, and the cast and crew deserved much more than what the fan base at that time was throwing at them. Love the podcast, keep doing what you guys are doing!
when anakin slaughtered the tuskin village, it was such a powerful act in the dark side of the force that qui gon felt it from the nether side of the force, and yoda get it across the galaxy.
I've always felt that Anakin's story would have been better, more believable, and much more accepted by the fandom of the day, if he had been in his twenties (like Luke was) when it all began. ,...but oh well. At least they "looked" pretty.
This is one of my favorite trilogies. I wish Padme had more character development. But attack of the clones has one of my favorite battle scenes. Revenge of the sith is great to me.
Favorite Movie: Deadpool Love the intermission portion! Make them recurring and name the segments/contest. Y'all's banter and off the cuff moments make this podcast that much more enjoyable and endearing, keep up the good work fellas! #thiseffimgguy
Problem I have with Prequel is that characters' motivations are not convincing. Slave life for young Anakin didn't seem so bad. After all, he had lots of free time and friends to play with and even made pod racer. It would have been much better story, if Anakin was forced to pilot the pod racer by Watto, rather than did it voluntarily for fun, perhaps Watto makes false promise to Anakin that he will free his mom if he wins the race however many times, etc.
Luke was allowed to love. He was able to accept and process all of his emotions. He learned to accept fear as a basic emotion. Anakin was pulled away from the one person he loved and was told to stop loving her. She dies and now has a constant fear that people he loves will die. This is exacerbated in the Clone Wars series. By the time of episode 3, his suppression of his fear just comes to a head. He sees this suppression as a weakness of the Jedi and it caused their corruption.
would you guys consider reviewing Apocalypse Now which is Francis Ford Coppola’s masterpiece and would you guys review all of Michael Mann’s movies including Manhunter
I love how much they added to the universe of Star Wars. With the prequels shows like Clone Wars and Bad Batch would never be. Alot of the extended universe stems from the prequels.
Darth “who gives a fuck” actually has a book about him training young Palpatine and it’s the best SW book I’ve ever read. *Darth Plagueis He’s so incredibly cool. Darth Plagueis never indefinitely prevented death actually. Palpatine was lying. Palpatine and Plagueis preformed rituals that took years that created a vergence in the force. However, there is a confirmed unused part of the script where Palpatine tells Anakin that he is his father, and that he manipulated the midichlorians to create Anakin, when in fact, that is what the whills did. If this was true, that means that Reylo is incest, but thankfully it’s not true. 😬😅 In Charles Soule’s Darth Vader 2017 run, Vader goes into a portal under his castle where he receives a vision of Palpatine manipulating Shmi’s womb to create Anakin, but one of the guys from Marvel came out and said that it is only a vision. Unfortunately, many fans believe that Plagueis and Palpatine created anakin, but that is not true, even though it is a badass theory. And on behalf of all SW nerds, we are not mad that you do not care about Plagueis lmao. 😂
@@raidersofthelostpodcast_ Yeah ofc. The whills were an original plan of George lucas. They are celestial like beings that are the beings that were supposed to be telling the story of the Skywalker saga. The Skywalker saga is told from the journal of the whills. The prequel films are great and the best part about them for me is Obi-Wan Kenobi and the poster I would want is Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them
Something that has ALWAYS bugged me about the prequel trilogy is that. They had such a simple VFX problem. And it was that the Lightsabers don’t cast any light on anyone or anything EXCEPT for Yoda. And that’s it. I completely understand it with the originals because of the technology and everything. But in the prequels. Such a simple mistake and every time I watch one of those movies it just messes with me! Either way, it’s still amazing. Good luck on the giveaway everyone!

100%. He could only do so much with the at times "cringe worthy" dialogue between Anakin and Padme.
Dooku does take the Darth title. He's Darth Tyrannus but he keeps it a secret.
Honestly, I would have absolutely watched a hour long cut of the Battle of Coruscant. #ReleaseTheLucasCut
For real! What an opening to a movie
Revenge of the Sith is my FAVORITE Star Wars movie of all time. I remember seeing it in theaters with my dad & brothers.

Slave life for young Anakin didn't seem so bad. After all, he had lots of free time and friends to play with and even made pod racer.
It would have been much better story, if Anakin was forced to pilot the pod racer by Watto, rather than did it voluntarily for fun,
perhaps Watto makes false promise to Anakin that he will free his mom if he wins the race however many times, etc.
Best part of the palps fight is that he has Anakin’s lightsaber. And the Jedi trials are in the clone wars 2-D animation show(not considered canon)
Luke was allowed to love. He was able to accept and process all of his emotions. He learned to accept fear as a basic emotion.
