Regardless of your opinion on the creative choices of those that made the game and formed the narrative, there is no denying the incredible hard work that has been put into bringing this game to life. With that said let's appreciate the little things that often make Naughty Dog games that ever so slightly more impressive! P.S: I'm currently working on a Part 2... We're not done yet :)
I really like that Abby's and Ellie playstile feel so different from each other and even though it's still technically you who's controling them their personality comes through in the in moments like these like Abbs gasping when you get close to an edge. It's so cool.
It's one of my absolute favourite details and as someone who is afraid of heights as well I immediately picked up on it when Abby first walked across that ledge with owen
One thing that really caught my attention was this one encounter I had where I ran out of ammo in close range with a WLF soldier, and the guy heard the gun clicking and said “should’ve learned how to count”. It’s the little things.
When Ellie is trying to find Nora in the hospital you can hear distant gunshots and screams and growls from Abby fighting the super bloater in the basement.
Also when you fall into the lower floors with Nora, you can hear a soldier say "Why is the power on down here?" It's because Abby turned the power back on before Ellie got there.
Also I was amazed when I heard Ice Cube-It Was a Good Day in this game. Naughty Dog remembered this hit of 1992 and they made the right choice. People remember masterpieces of 90’s and this make me proud of today’s community
Hate to spoil the fun (especially 3 years after the comment) but it's actually a bit of an illusion. The CPUs aren't really strategizing with eachother, they are just audibly commenting on the actions the AI was gonna take anyway. Still pretty cool though
another impressive detail you may have known by now: when you play as Ellie, at the basement of the hospital when youre chasing Nora one of the Wolf said "why the f* is the power on?" and that is because when you play as Abby you have to get the power on to access doors
yeah, you notice a lot of things like this on your second play through. When you approach a group of enemies they're often having a conversation relevant to what's happening with the opposite/parallel story line.
These are the best kind of video games/movies for me. Ones with parallel storylines but from different perspectives/characters. Wish there were more of them
Oh shit :'( That poor boy we play fetch with, later in the game. I tried to throw his ball off the cage, and he was waiting for it in front of the fence, I felt so bad. But the ball was in the grass so I found it, and was angry that we couldn't grab it and throw it back to him.
I don't feel bad because bear would eat my ass alive..i try to avoid killing its impossible setup minetraps for bear or any dogs to choose there faith if they want to turn to a bucket of kfc chickens or leave me the hell alone. 🤷♂️
So many more I'm sure you'll find; Ellie putting her hood up in the cold and rain; squinting when facing into the wind; able to multi-task i.e. carry rope/cord and unlock a door with the offhand; the various animations for modding weapons at a workbench. Looking forward to your Part 2. Thank You!
7 years (once again) is so far away. I read that they are doing a TV-series from TLoU. Craig Mazin (involved in the Chernobyl-series) is producing and writing it. Neil Druckmann mentioned that he is not exatly sure what Part III will be about. Now, he and Craig Mazin are developing it (adding more content to it) and maybe someday an idea will pop up. I have to admit: I want to know how this story continues!!
I saw someone comment that with the new gen consoles games will be made easier and faster for devs, so like 4-5 years if we're lucky. Although idk if it's true at all.
Another detail: when abby was leaving for the aquarium as she was escorted out by manny you can turn around and see manny going the way back and not just disappearing
Yes! This killed me, because when I was Ellie, I shot Bear, and one of the WLF soldiers said, “Bear! No!” And I felt bad, then as Abby I saw and played with Bear and felt horrible!
Also fun fact: If you don’t kill Bear at the Hospital he’ll show up again later when you’re with Jessie on Road to the Aquarium. I literally have a Grounded strategy that revolves around keeping Bear alive at all costs
I remember killing bear as Ellie and one of the WLF soldiers said “oh my god they killed bear!” And I was like oh that’s cool they name the dogs. Then when I played later as Abby and saw Bear I was like oh no...
i had the opposite reaction. I was like Me: You fucking deserve it. i'm glad I iced yo bitch ass! you was gonna hurt my Ellie? NO ONE HURTS MY ELLIE!( as i played ball with the dog as Abby) Bear: *Wags tail and barks happily. I hated everything that was a threat to Ellie's' well being. For me as the player I personally still felt like Joel even after he died.
What about alice? When you kill her you just think its a random dog... i loved the aquarium part because of the way you view things from different perspectives... that was awesome..
An incredible detail I found was, that when you shoot in someone's throat, you can hear how the person is trying to breath while blood flows into the lungs. It's a really disgusting sound.
The sound design is what really sealed the deal for me too. Like when you blast someone with a lead pipe with spikes on the end, that is one of the goriest sounds I've heard.
Yall remember when dina stitched up ellie’s wound on her left arm, when ur at the farmhouse u can see the scar on her left arm. Just think its pretty cool how this game is very detailed
When Ellie gets a scratch or cut you see her bleeding even in cutscenes, when ellie opens dinosaur book, the edges of the books weighs down and sag because of gravity, when dina showing details of the map layed on the floor, she kicks it, drop pictures on it and touches it with her finger and it all bends and move to the amount of pressure she applies to it. BLOOD DILUTES IN PUDDLES! AND ON THE GROUND WHEN IT RAINS!
When you go to joel's house and try to look at a picture that is at the left of the stairs, Ellie doesn't look at it and will move her head in order to avoid seen it. Not a really hide detail but emoutionally strong.
Another impressive detail: When a bullet from a rifle or a pistol hits the wall - dust from it twists in the direction of rotation of the bullet. According to it there is no such twisting when firing from a shotgun
Both Abby and Ellie progressive get worn down. If you compare Ellie to the start of her campaign to the end, she's muddied, bloody, and torn up. Same with Abby. They wear the scars from the story beats.
It's actually Troy and Ashley's wish. Troy wanted to be a musician and Ashley an astronaut. Neil wrote it into the characters to reflect the actual actors' dreams
Another detail: When Abby is going in the lower levels of the hospital when Nora says: "May your survival be long", Abby replies with: "And may MY death be swift" instead of WLF tradition of "May your death be swift"... As a result, Ellie Kills Nora in a not so swift fashion
I love it because when I played the first game with my friend I'd try to make him laugh by pretending the enemies were calling out each others goofy names I made up as I killed people, but half of them were called Bjork. The deer Ellie hunted was also called Bjork.
Every dad with a daughter knows that one day they’ll lose their child to her adolescence. For Joel, he lived every moment making sure Ellie was happy. Even declaring that he wouldn’t change his actions for saving her if he were given another chance. Even though his actions affected others . This game evokes emotions you can’t get from any other medium. That’s Interactive entertainment.
I just asked my bf out of curiosity if he is a father, would he be willing to sacrifice the life of his child for humanity's survival (he haven't played LoU yet, but i watched the playthrough). He said dmn no. His reason? Same with what the game portrayed. The same reason why Joel did that. I was amazed how the game claimed that emotion
Betäubtes Faultier it’s a person’s perspective of the events of the game, the game that the video is showing. Do you have a problem with someone expressing their opinion of the exact game the video pertains to? If you do, I suggest finding another video.
i honestly thought if you struck someone when it said strike and they were down and she said “holy shit ellie” i thought that would affect the relationship between them
It will certainly be talked about. It just depends on what view that person holds of it. I do personally believe that it will likely be known as a divisive game as everyone praised the gameplay but couldn't agree on how good the story was.
regardless of the questionable decisions about this game s story it s still a good game in my opinion, think about all the people who worked countless hours to add all this details only to see how the game is shitted on
Hey we can’t forget that when it was raining, Ellie would put her hoodie on, and then take it off when she was safe under a roof... and so forth. When I saw that I was like wow, the dedication
It’s pretty inconsistent. Companion AI still is sorta immune from being seen but they can be spotted and then you gotta go bail them out lol. Cool thing is that enemy AI won’t know your position until they see you.
@@ussocomfreak in my playthrough Dina got spotted once too and she said something similar to "shit" or "fuck". Then enemy opened fire on her. I was playing on Hard difficulty.
@@ussocomfreak im playing on survivor now, and jesse got spotted. i did not respond immediately because i was wondering if i was also automatically spotted, but no. enemies did not spot me until i react. i usually attack immediatly so maybe if i would try stealth more, it would happen with dina too.
I remember when playing near the end of the game shooting someone in the head, they stumbled back and has they fell they hit a white van and slide down and left a blood smear. The amount of detail was crazy.
Another Detail: all throughout Ellie’s journal she is writing lyrics based on her journey through the game. This is an actual song made for the game called “The Guardian” by Shawn James!!
Yeah, that played a bigger part than I thought at first, I remember going to the hospital and the dogs name being 'bear', later on as abby you can play fetch with bear at the stadium, (11:42) that little detail blew my mind tbh
@@lickmygooch1013 Yeah she's a great character, people just hate her because of how she killed Joel, literally the only reason lol. They be acting like he's a real life person 😆
There’s one extra detail to Abby’s vertigo reaction to heights. When Lev talks to Abby about focusing on the good parts on the way up the tall building, she stops shivering as much.
Ellie takes some of Joel’s stuff In Joel’s house you will find a wooden carving of a man on a horse in the art room In the Farm house you will see the same carving on Ellie’s table
This must be common knowledge by now but you can pick every safe by ear, either with headphones or speakers turned up high. The correct number gives an audible click.
I’m glad I finally found a video about the last of us 2 where everyone isn’t completely bashing the game in the comments or in the video. This was such a cool video and it included a lot of extras that I didn’t even pay attention to! Awesome👍👍
Honestly, it's so sad that people that haven't even played the game get on this hate train because they can't get over the fact that Joel was killed in a non-heroic kinda way. I mean, it's sad and unsatisfactory but sometimes people die like this and that's a fucking fact. That makes them so blind to Abby's reasons. I love Joel with all my heart but he was far from being a good person, and I got to understand Abby's need for vengeance. It's refreshing to see people praising this kind of details, they're outstanding.
well said! those are the kind of persons that think live is perfect... they have to learn that! between black and white there's a thousand shades of gray! and that's the beauty of this story! it's bittersweet, but close to reality!
Judith i played the game and honestly I hate the way they killed joel they could’ve just changed the story instead of Abby killing him maybe getting bitten by the infected wouldn’t been better.
I feel the same, I actually enjoyed the game. I was disappointed because I was really looking forward to playing more with Joel but alas. The writing wasnt bad, ne introduced character were well written and the level design was really fun. I feel like people just wanted more of the first game and because they didnt get that fan service are now completely dismissing the game
I really love the detail of giving the enemies names and having their friends react to their deaths. It makes them human and not just some generic mindless goons. Also the fact that the NPC checks to see if his dog is ok before hunting you is another great detail because that is what would anyone would do first if they were ever in that situation.
@@joaquinsantillan4130 It was the same for me with Joel in the first game as well. I was like 'damn Joel you look like you're gonna die. It's ok we can just walk here old man' 😁 Glad the energy is going strong with Ellie as well
The dog reacting to its owners death hit me hard. A lot of us know what it’s like to lose a dog but can you imagine what it’s like for a dog to lose you...
The detail that I love the most is when Abby's blonde hair gets wet, it's a darker colour! That's how realistically blonde hair acts and I didn't think they'd put in that detail
When you kill someone in this game, it actually feels like you've taken I life. Not just killing an enemy with the same personality as everyone else, but like a real person that you've taken the life of and I actually felt bad when they die.
I don’t exactly feel bad when they die I can appreciate the coding and voice lines they put into the A.I but to become attached to enemy’s especially enemies made of pixels is impossible for me personally
Another impressive detail : when an enemy gets killed by water, his blood will mix with it nicely* and smoothely*, it dilutes* with it (* sorry for the grammar mistakes if done)
I feel very lucky that I made it alive till this day to play this yet another masterpiece from Naughty Dog. Hats off to everybody who worked on The Last of Us Part II!
When blow up someone's brains onto the ceiling, it realistically splatters down bit by bit and drips off lights. The attention to detail is absolutely incredible.
@@The_Primary_Axiom I'll have to try that next time I'm playing! I suspect I'll be having MANY playthroughs on this game lol. When I complete it again I'll wait until the grounded update releases and hopefully there will be a film grain slider too like in photo mode!
Thanks dude. For once, someone shows the talent of Naughty Dog's creators while too many others youtubers look for notoriety by looking for bugs. All games have some (often too much), but here none of the few interfere with the pleasure of playing. The immersion that this game provides is purely exceptional, we can really feels living as with the characters. And I pray for a part III.
@@pinkyogurt8440 it's the story, ok but there is 50% of people who doesn't agree with you. Can we just respect each other opions, or at least say "for me"?
3:31 OH DUDE!!! if you notice... her face is not as wet as her clothes, but when she wipes her face, the clothes touches Ellie's face and leaving traces of more water from the clothes.
A drip even falls off her lip as she removes her hand. That's it, I'm convinced Naughty Dog don't make games, they make software that opens a rendering window into alternate dimensions that they conjure from dark magic to portray their stories and wring our imperfect souls for tears.
@@Destructor111 LMAO tbh even though the game got a lot of controversy etc. I still don't want them to stop making games just because of how they go with their game details. It's fully immersing
9:46 I was impressed with how Dina reacted when Ellie killed the last enemy with the knife instead of using the gun. It's like she couldn't believe Ellie was enjoying it
It's funny how I played the first game and thought "wow these graphics are amazing" then as soon as I finished I played the second game and thought the same thing. But now the first game looks eh
That’s how it is with any photorealistic graphics. Just look at uncharted. Even older but I’m sure it was too tier at the time. Any new photorealistic game is (to a certain extent) gonna look better than its predecessor. Even though at the time you think “wow this is peak graphics, how can it possible get any better”
I missed so many details because my mind was not present after that stupid poor written scene. I was angry and sad, a mix of emotions. I couldn't enjoy the game because of that. though I noticed many but also missed many others. watching these videos now makes me feel bad, how could they write such stupid story for this amazingly designed game.
ColdStorms just because you didn’t like it doesn’t make it stupid or bad. It was well done and it was supposed to make you upset because you were supposed to be on board Ellie’s quest for revenge. And I’d say it fucking worked. And even more surprisingly as angry as I was towards Abby initially I had forgiven her and was against Ellie killing her at the very very end. And that’s a testament to brilliant storytelling.
Wait. What drawing of a coffee cup? You mean the 3D model of Joel’s cup you find inside his house when you go in? It has tears on the sides? I’m confused.
No matter how we feel about the story, one thing none of us can take away from this game is that it's beautiful. The last game that made me have to say "wow" at its graphics was Red Dead 2.
@@OM-fe6bo Yeah dude they're just saying that regardless of anyone's opinion on the game itself, nobody can deny that it's great looking. Don't be so defensive, damn.
Another detail guys, try looking into any mirror in the game and zoom with L2. As soon as you zoom in Ellie will close her eyes and will avoid seeing herself. That's just heartbreaking ...
This game is the most polished game I have ever played period. It truly felt like a next-gen title. No other game I have played before or since then has even come close to the level of detail that they put in. I think they set a new standard for linear games. Everyone's opinion is valid of course, but I do feel sad that a lot of people only focus on the story and with that disregard the whole game. Now all these amazing details and all of the hard work doesn't get talked about a lot which would have happened if the story was great. I feel bad for all of the people at Naughty Dog who didn't have anything to do with the story and worked their asses off only to not get recognition. It was certainly not the story I wanted or expected from Naughty dog and there where a lot of plot holes and messy justifications, but if it wasn't for the story I would rate TLOU2 a masterpiece.
I agree with you guys. RDR2 is amazingly detailed as well. I find it difficult to compare open-world and linear games because they are so differently made, but RDR2 is definitely at the top of my list for open-world games. I absolutely love that game!
The story is great. It makes sense, its the fact that Joel died and how he died. But its the fact that you switch play as Abby witch then makes you feel empathy for Abby but makes you Feel empathy for Ellie so your stuck on each side. The whole revenge story is sad and dark and not what the fans want but all in all it makes a great storyline. Some parts where a hit or miss but you can not lie this game is straight copy and pasted from real life. And we will see a part 3 to this game and it wont be pretty the story will keep getting darker.
The story is amazing and very well constructed. Some people just cant accept the way things happened. Its not a fairy tail and Joel wasn’t a super hero.
Another one: The fingers of Ellie that were bitten at the end of the second part were the ones that she was grabbing at the last scene with Joel at part one.
ShaZan1011 First detail I noticed was I looked into a mirror and zoomed with L1. She squints her eyes to focus. So every time you hold L1 she actually freaking squints !
I'm currently still playing part 2, I'm playing as Abby in "Seattle Day 1." I saw the negative reviews, but so far I've enjoyed the game and regardless of how you feel about it, you can't deny the hard work and detail Naughty Dog put into this game. Graphically, it's another masterpiece!
You'll appreciate how playing as Abby is necessary for the meaning of the game by the end of it. If they didn't include this bit, the game would have been rubbish... even though I didn't like playing with her half as much as with Ellie.
It's all about revenge, since when the revenge of one is justified and not another? Their redemption too, it's impeccable when you realize the entire story of them
@@cerisier2341 Entire thing's about how the cycle of revenge gets you nothing and takes everything from you. Joel started it by killing the surgeon. In revenge, Abby killed Joel which took away Ellie's surrogate father and her mental health. Ellie got revenge by taking away all of Abby's friends. Abby got revenge which took away Jesse and crippled Tommy. Ellie went after Abby again, which caused her to lose Dina and JJ. And what do they get in the end? All Abby gets is the realisation that killing Joel didn't fix her problems, and Ellie gets traumatised and loses her last connection to Joel (The ability to play guitar).
The negative reviews are biased and selfish. I feel like the people that didn’t like this game were simply unwilling to embrace the reality that Joel and Ellie have always been enemies in someone else’s story. It’s so depressing and upsetting because it’s REALISTIC. You’re supposed to feel upset, confused, and detached on purpose.
@@ThousanWhite honestly I think the people who didn’t like the narrative aren’t quite In touch with their emotions. Because as someone who is, and as someone who went through similar things like Abby/Ellie, I think the narrative was absolutely perfect. Just incredible how they wrote it. 10/10.
@@guillesuperior the story is great though ... I know you guys just hate it because Joel died but if you finish the game and the story you'll realize that it's amazing... Joel is not a saint he is a murderer as well
@@Rhetzelle What? No I don’t hate the game because Joel died, I hate the game because the writing is just plain awful, the way Joel died is a simple mistake compared to the other instances where bad writing ruins the game
There’s a part in the game with a safe inside a garage that’s been infested with runners, and I remember setting all of them on fire and having one of the corpses land on the safe. When I started to input the code into the safe, rather than my hand just no clipping into the corpse, the corpse actually moved. When I opened the safe, the runner’s body actually went off it as I opened it.
Another detail: the album on the guitar case at the ending farmhouse scene is “Little Sadie” by Crooked Still - the song played at the beginning of the dance scene
Insane detail : the cordyceps in the brain of Ellie gives her super hearing so she can hear enemies at 300 yards like if the were just next to her. But like a clicker she has bad eyesight and often don't see lootables even when they're under her nose.
this is bullshit. a lot of characters in TLOU universe have listening mode. Joel, Ellie, Abby, even Tommy and David I think. Ellie's eyesight works perfect fine as she has no issues with seeing or reading things up close or far away
Fun fact: at the part where you get ambushed at the workbench in the apartment, if you left any infected alive before that, they can wander up and help you take out the WLF deserters if you leave the front door open. I found this on my first playthrough by accident. I was playing way conservative, moving around slowly on Survivor, and lost track of the one Clickers I left alive while exploring. I found the bench but didn’t use it initially b/c I wanted to sweep the area first, which apparently allowed enough time for it to wander up. When I finally hopped on the bench the dude grabbed me, I threw a bottle and grabbed him, the other 3 WLF burst out of the door, then the Clicker showed up! it was fucking pandemonium 😂
The chords are accurate, and your strumming on the touchpad is consistently accurate so people are using it to play actual songs on the guitar. There's a vid of someone playing Nothing Else Matters accurately all the way trough
They actually made a 2 special tie-in guitars for the game. The one you see joel/ellie play, and a TLOU themed guitar. The one in game will set you back $2,400
Derpygamer At one point in the game, in a WLF apartment, I laid down a couple of mines (second play through, so I knew it was a trap). 4 to 5 of them blown to giblets, and bits slowly dropping from the ceiling. Gruesome, but phenomenal.
@@RussDnB sounds very cool tbh, didn't notice that either, but i guess most ppl didn't in their first playthrough as everyone was more focused on the main objective or the story.
Another impressive detail: When it rains and if to stand under the water pouring on the edge o the roof - there will be an animation of the character when water pouring by the scruff of the neck. Quite fun! :)
I've never played a game so emotional like The Last Of Us. It one of the best game I ever played and it gonna be a story I will tell my grandkids about it.
There is a scene in the first game where ellie in the barn with joel said "everyone around me who i cared about is either left me or dead, but not you joel". Now i realize how crusial and sad it is knowing that joel is dead and everyone around her left her IN TLOU2. #TLOU #TLOU2
Also other details: Ellie's facial movements and reactions during gameplay while talking with Joel in flashbacks or with Jessie trýing to kill ennemies. Also Ellie close her eyes while stabing an ennemy so the blood dont go in her eyes.
This game is a materpiece on so many levels. I really really don’t get how people can hate it so much. The story is genious and bold. I don’t think I have been so gripped by any movie before nor felt so many things during any video game.
The negative reviews are biased and selfish. I feel like the people that didn’t like this game were simply unwilling to embrace the reality that Joel and Ellie have always been enemies in someone else’s story. They’re survivors like everyone else but they’ve had to do terrible things to make it. It’s so depressing and upsetting because it’s REALISTIC. Sins of the father is classic storytelling.
@@ThousanWhite exactly my take on it. At some point playing part 1, it hit me. This is the focal point, of one big story. Pick any other group, and Ellie/Joel Tess, look like the bad guys. GoT type survival. Another thing is that humans grow, and can change ideals, and minds. Like Abby for example. All she wanted was revenge for her father. Which she got. But it didn't bring him back. At some point she realized, everybody is a survivor, and all the killing is a stupid, vicious circle, of territorial gang world killing.( Which, honestly, it is.. just like gang/mob warfare in the cities) you experience enough, and you start seeing common sense, rather than your emotional sense of being "right", and letting those needs go. Glad I played this game myself, and I have to say, It's a dark, deep, worthy successor to TLoU. I don't like that Ellie is lesbian, but it didn't detract, and it was nice to know that Abby wasn't really a transgender... She's a straight girl, with a more masculine frame, so she buffed it out ( survivorship, reasons and all.) I actually like Abby. Just a messed up situation between her, and Ellie, the stories they got thrown into. Great game! It was rough on my emotions :D Think it was a perfect "nobody won" exercise.
@Sean Except it isn't (in my opinion). In my world it is extremely weird to label this as bad writing. I can come up with a lot of examples of bad writing, but this most definitely wasn't one. :)
@@ThousanWhite maybe you just can't accept that the story has more plotholes than swiss chesse, characters make dumb decision and the revenge plot is one of the worst out there
Regardless of your opinion on the creative choices of those that made the game and formed the narrative, there is no denying the incredible hard work that has been put into bringing this game to life.

Oh shit :'(
That poor boy we play fetch with, later in the game. I tried to throw his ball off the cage, and he was waiting for it in front of the fence, I felt so bad. But the ball was in the grass so I found it, and was angry that we couldn't grab it and throw it back to him.
I thought she just had her animals confused

GTA 4 and the last of us part II are probably the most realistic games of all time
So many more I'm sure you'll find; Ellie putting her hood up in the cold and rain; squinting when facing into the wind; able to multi-task i.e. carry rope/cord and unlock a door with the offhand; the various animations for modding weapons at a workbench.
Looking forward to your Part 2. Thank You!
Also, look at Dina's tongue on the trailer when she kissed Ellie, it happened before the flashback.
0:19 why he petted Neil Druckman ?
Decent gamer Wow your so funny putting the same joke in every reply.
I'd wait another 7 years for part III. I'd grow old with it.
Me too ♥️
7 years (once again) is so far away.
" you would wait it all over again"
I would also wait 10 years for another last of us game. Would definitely be worth it.
Another detail: when abby was leaving for the aquarium as she was escorted out by manny you can turn around and see manny going the way back and not just disappearing
Yep, I watched him climbing and going back.
Yeah, I actually turned around and saw him.
Saw that too

Another Detail: Bear is actually one of the dogs you can kill while playing as Ellie :(
Yes! This killed me, because when I was Ellie, I shot Bear, and one of the WLF soldiers said, “Bear! No!” And I felt bad, then as Abby I saw and played with Bear and felt horrible!
Idc
You don't have to kill Bear, RadBrad avoided it by staying too high up for Bear to get him
Same with Alice! :(
Also fun fact: If you don’t kill Bear at the Hospital he’ll show up again later when you’re with Jessie on Road to the Aquarium.
I was like
Me: You fucking deserve it. i'm glad I iced yo bitch ass! you was gonna hurt my Ellie? NO ONE HURTS MY ELLIE!( as i played ball with the dog as Abby)
Bear: *Wags tail and barks happily.
I hated everything that was a threat to Ellie's' well being.
For me as the player I personally still felt like Joel even after he died.
Bear was such an incredible yet horrible detail at the same time. Got to love all the effort NaughtyDog put into this game.
Was that with Jesse in the street because I remember a dog named bear and later was mortified but thought it could just be another dog
@@JO3yr2004 Yeah, its when Jessie tags along with Ellie to go reach the aquarium

An incredible detail I found was, that when you shoot in someone's throat, you can hear how the person is trying to breath while blood flows into the lungs. It's a really disgusting sound.
Yea noticed that 😖
The sound design is what really sealed the deal for me too.
We can also see a scar near Dina's shoulder from Lev's arrow :(
When Ellie gets a scratch or cut you see her bleeding even in cutscenes, when ellie opens dinosaur book, the edges of the books weighs down and sag because of gravity, when dina showing details of the map layed on the floor, she kicks it, drop pictures on it and touches it with her finger and it all bends and move to the amount of pressure she applies to it.

Yes I noticed that in the game while playing, and around her wrist
the mark on her neck stayed throughout the whole 3 days. and subtly became less visible.
Both Abby and Ellie progressive get worn down. If you compare Ellie to the start of her campaign to the end, she's muddied, bloody, and torn up. Same with Abby. They wear the scars from the story beats.

Another detail:
When Abby is going in the lower levels of the hospital when Nora says: "May your survival be long", Abby replies with: "And may MY death be swift" instead of WLF tradition of "May your death be swift"... As a result, Ellie Kills Nora in a not so swift fashion

I started thinking of my dad from what you said.

Hey we can’t forget that when it was raining, Ellie would put her hoodie on, and then take it off when she was safe under a roof... and so forth. When I saw that I was like wow, the dedication
Dina apologised to Ellie when I was trying to be stealthy and she shot her gun.
How did you get that to happen? I've had Dina and other companions run right in front of enemies and not get spotted.

I really love the detail of giving the enemies names and having their friends react to their deaths. It makes them human and not just some generic mindless goons. ColdStorms just because you didn’t like it doesn’t make it stupid or bad. It was well done and it was supposed to make you upset because you were supposed to be on board Ellie’s quest for revenge. I feel bad for all of the people at Naughty Dog who didn't have anything to do with the story and worked their asses off only to not get recognition.

RDR2 has more attention to detail to be honest

So she's symbolically forgiving him for lying to her?
Ggasspp*** damn TLOU is more than just a game
I thought you were joking, omg
I noticed that too! was watching the ending of the first game and had that sudden realization.
Im just waiting on the torrent of commenters who believe things like symbolism only exist in high school English.
First detail I noticed that immediately made me think of this channel was seeing blood melt away the snow after you kill an enemy
@@passyourielts Makes sense, I think I can see why.
I think it was genious to play as the main villain.
And people say this game didn’t deserve Game of the Year
It 100 percent did
The negative reviews are biased and selfish.
The details and gameplay do jack shit If the story is horrible
@@guillesuperior the story is great though ... I know you guys just hate it because Joel died but if you finish the game and the story you'll realize that it's amazing... Joel is not a saint he is a murderer as well
@@Rhetzelle What? No I don’t hate the game because Joel died, I hate the game because the writing is just plain awful, the way Joel died is a simple mistake compared to the other instances where bad writing ruins the game
I had NO idea about the enemies being Clicker bait!?!
Me neither also
Holy $*** .. that new to me .. I love game with details that can be used mechanically in combat
Now I wanna kill wlfs that way
Yep it's a lot of fun doing that then just slipping through. Just throw a brick to get the attention of the infected in the right direction.
I wish there was a push button now.
Uncharted 4: I am the most realistic naughty dog game ever.
Last Of Us Part 2: Hold my guitar.
Whyyyy
lol
Did anybody else find it weird that they made the last of us 2 a golfing simulator??
@Mariobetterthanyou Fan I played the game and I enjoyed it.
@@davidinass you're playing a risky game by saying your honest opinion on the Internet. (I agree with it btw)
Another detail: the album on the guitar case at the ending farmhouse scene is “Little Sadie” by Crooked Still - the song played at the beginning of the dance scene
It's also the real album art and and when you play the record in the farmhouse it will play the whole b side if you listen long enough!
Insane detail : the cordyceps in the brain of Ellie gives her super hearing so she can hear enemies at 300 yards like if the were just next to her. But like a clicker she has bad eyesight and often don't see lootables even when they're under her nose.
Is that different with abby?
Ellie doing some Matt Murdock shit right there
the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell
Is this confirmed
this is bullshit. a lot of characters in TLOU universe have listening mode. Joel, Ellie, Abby, even Tommy and David I think. Ellie's eyesight works perfect fine as she has no issues with seeing or reading things up close or far away
See: Satire.
Guy's making a joke about having listen mode but it sometimes being a struggle to get characters to pick up lootables.
As Ellie gaining more equipment her sprinting speed decreases.
What?!?!!!!!!!!!?
@@eanarchygle ditto. What?!?!
Yeah. Noticed in new game plus
I’ve noticed that. I’d easily outrun infected at the start of the game and towards the end they always caught up
True. When you are back at the teatre and walk with your backpack without all your weapons you fell she is way more fast.
17:45 Who ended up thinking that the scene was meant for ellie's birthday present since she always wanted to be an astronaut?
Also her room in Jackson had an astronaut toy and poster
absolutely
“Glass will be embedded in skin and teeth may fly out after decking someone with a melee weapon”
That thought hurts me
That's the way it is
joel ):
As a guitar player, the guitar chords were accurate and seeing a Taylor guitar in-game made me soooo jealous.
The chords are accurate, and your strumming on the touchpad is consistently accurate so people are using it to play actual songs on the guitar. There's a vid of someone playing Nothing Else Matters accurately all the way trough
TaylorSwifts guitar
But is it a Martin?
They actually made a 2 special tie-in guitars for the game. The one you see joel/ellie play, and a TLOU themed guitar. The one in game will set you back $2,400
Whyaskmenoely25 Same
This game has so much more in it than you"ll think. I was so schoked when i found out bits of brain would drip down the wall from a headshot :0
drips from the ceiling too!
Blood dilutes in puddles and rain, thats insane
Yes, I noticed the blood splatter but not the other part 🤭.
When you stand there, Ellie keeps checking her back pocket to see if she has her mother’s knife
... and she lost it in the water.
When?
@@mariaxr.7281 that’s true. She worries about it for a second. I forgot about that
Another impressive detail: When it rains and if to stand under the water pouring on the edge o the roof - there will be an animation of the character when water
pouring by the scruff of the neck. Quite fun! :)
I do this in every game since gears one, very few games ( well mostly nd ones tbf) have animation or even that the water drips on their head
wow
I don't quite understand fully. Do you mean water pours by the neck's scruff?
@@randomrom747 I think they mean water running down the Characters neck/back makes them do something
like the first one
Another cool one is when Ellie’s hair is in her face she will move it out of her face
Dina: Can you hurry up?, we don’t have all day!
Ellie:
*haha cord goes skkhr*
I've never played a game so emotional like The Last Of Us. It one of the best game I ever played and it gonna be a story I will tell my grandkids about it.
Abby: has fear of hights
Me: climbs to the highest point in the game as Abby and looks down
Hes dead....
@@robertmichael8302 I wish. Oh, and IT'S MA'AM

Me: Runs to the edge of a skyscraper to grab some weapon parts
Abby: What am I doing?!
@@seandamonii5713 Gamers are the most unoriginal people on the planet.
There is a scene in the first game where ellie in the barn with joel said "everyone around me who i cared about is either left me or dead, but not you joel". Now i realize how crusial and sad it is knowing that joel is dead and everyone around her left her IN TLOU2. #TLOU #TLOU2
and she even told sam her fear was being left alone, in the end, she had no choice but to be alone.
@@saur.ivysaur She did have a choice, but she decided to go to Santa Barbara anyways. I hope we get part 3 and we get to see her doing better.
DR MR JACH it’s all because of her own actions that she ends up alone.
Alan Gonzalez Martinez can’t she go back to jackson?
She was basicaly saying "hEy jOeL, hOPe yOu DoN't diE oR SoMetHinG!"
@@animationcycles7109 Agreed
@@ThousanWhite maybe you just can't accept that the story has more plotholes than swiss chesse, characters make dumb decision and the revenge plot is one of the worst out there
