- Here's Part 2 of my incredible day of pond bass fishing on a Virginia farm pond. Round two of my day started with little junk fishing to see what the bass wanted, but it didn't take long to figure out what I wanted to do! Once my buddy Chris and I made it into a back cove of the pond that looked like a bass fishing paradise; it didn't take long before the topwater frog was popping across the water. The rest is epic topwater frog bass (and pickerel) fishing history!!!

Hate the snakes...love the video. Great two parts. Can't wait to watch part 3. Come on up to NJ if you want more pickerel. They are rampant up here. That was the best frog bite I've seen. So true about the Pelican and yak maneuverability. I can get my 12 foot Frontier into little tiny, shallow spots no one else can get to. Cool stuff, Cornell.

Gotta love those farm ponds. That pretty much what I've been fishing exclusively. Only downside is you get really spoiled and impatient when fishing more common places. Great video, keep up the good work.

I just recently got the black looking whopper plopped because of you're older whopper plopped annihilation video but haven't been able to to use it because of lots of rain down here in Alabama but what's your advice on fishing high waters after rains? And another great video btw!
Thanks Richie! They'll still kill the Whopper Plopper in high water. Just throw it near cover up shallow and you'll get bit eventually...

I didn't realize you were in Virginia. I don't know how close you are to Lynchburg, but if you're interested, I could hook you up with some juicy spots. Not sure that they're as juicy as this, but I've got some really good spots.
Great video 👍 Those pickerel are very strong when they get big. My best is 6 lbs 4 ounces , 15½" girth, caught in Massachusetts.

what good looking pond. if I see that color water, vegetation and brush..... plus low pressure. game time. I got my hands on my first frog fish, a nice 2.5 lber that flopped off over the water as I took the hook out the day after the first video. but I woke them up with a shallow crank for a 45 minute flurry. and a few days later got my first frog fish in both hands and it was a nice 4 lber. time for flippin, punchin and froggin down here now. I'm excited.

The last time I fished a farm pond I used a Texas rig and every other cast was a 3-7 lbs fish. It was in Iowa and the only condition to fish it was you can not keep them and it was a family and special friends pond approved by the owner. Years of management went into it!

I went frog fishing today and had a lot of trouble setting hook right way, I was getting s fair amount of bites and even switched to a smaller frog but couldn't bring em in. but awesome video man!
Thanks! It's all about the pause. Just wait for the frog to go under the water like a bobber and then set the hook, or at least feel the fish before the hook set. Good luck!

What type of rod are you using for frogging?
Pickerel annoy me most of the time because they always slice through my line and take my lures when I'm going for bass. But they can be fun if I have a steel leader and a mepps spinner

One of my favorite vids of yours so far. I went out last night to squeeze in an hour of fishing and caught my new PB on a weightless plastic craw... 3.7lb. Not huge but had me sweating!
