- This was truly an incredible day of bass fishing a Virginia farm pond. Part 1 starts in the morning with an amazing topwater bite using the famous River2Sea Whopper Plopper 130. The bass fishing was amazing throughout the day, and with so much action, I decided to make multiple videos out of the footage. Nice day! I caught a good 6 ILBER last week on a Megastrike cavitron chartreuse gold blade buzzbait with a watermelon red pearl Stanley Ribbit frog trailer. Best catch I've had in years. Made me remember why I love Bass fishing.

Hey people, he said his fishing buddy has permission to fish this private farm pond in VA. He sure as heck isn't going to say where. because other people may know the area pretty well and might find out and trespass, that's why it's a PRIVATE farm pond. I also live in Virginia. and my biggest bass of 10 lbs, 8 oz, was caught in a private pond that's only 4 acres, and is not stocked! This past Saturday, fishing the same 4 acre pond, I caught a 6 lb bass on my 5th cast with my first Whopper Plopper!! Caught 6 more smaller fish in the next hour. Love the Whopper Plopper!

I've used a $20 rod and a $100 rod and would definitly rather pay for a $100 rod
I’m completely ignorant on topwater fishing so don’t laugh too hard. What are the best topwater lures? Do you only use the lure and no weight at all? Tried using something similar to what he has in the video but without the weight on the line I find it hard to cast any distance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Whopper plopper is my favorite lure. Haven't fished it once without catching at least a few fish. Even caught a giant black crappie on it. The 90 size bluegill color is my favorite.

After watching this, I went to go buy the same Whooper Plopper size and scheme. Dear god it worked, caught back to back monsters. A 5lb and 7lb. Then I bird nested my reel and ruined my day. Haha. Anyways, thanks for the lure tip. Caught my personal best twice.
Whopper plopper my go to lure and catches fish however.......fishing in a Farm Pond, that's closed to the general public, is not the same as fishing a regular lake. IMHO, you should be able to throw almost any lure in that pond and have the same great results

Only advice I have is to shorten your casts so your not scaring any possible bass thats between your lure from where it lands after casting and you

The big pole and heavy braid has its place and sure is convenient to yank em up out of heavy cover but i always like to also have about a 6'6 or 6 ft medium rod with a bit lighter line (10lb mono or 15-20 lb braid) just makes it funner when you get a 2-3 pounder it still feels like a good fight.
Awesome video haha nice bass buddy topwater blow ups are the best! Seems like that black whopper plopped of yours is notorious for catching big bass, you caught a giant on that with mike from 1rod1reel too I remember
