The proper way to test tire clearance is to compress the suspension at each side to bump stop compression. You also need to turn to full lock in both directions while compressed.

Too bad those grapplers aren’t offered on the TB stock 18” wheels. Guess it’s time to upsize my wheels to 20’s.
Looks clean just like that👍. Tires don't stick out too far too damage your paint but look alot better than stock.
Nitto has added a 34x11.50x20r for Recon Grappler. Might be slightly smaller but if you plan to wheel it might be the perfect tire. Its what I am putting on my 2018.

Nice. I'm not sure what I'll be doing. My TB should be delivered next week (after 3.5 months since ordering) and I spec'd the 18s mostly cuz I like the bubba look and softer ride with more sidewall but also leaving open the possibility of a complete wheel/tire package and lift in the future w/o spending the extra $500 on the 20s initially.
That's looks nice 👍 but I think if you're trying to hit them trails with that set up you'll be rubbing left and right with all the flexing.

I’m going 2-2 1/5 inch level in the front and Toyo Opencountry MT’s 35-12.50-18’s with 2inch spacer.
yup, def gonna rub if you are at full lock with any type of incline or decline, the price you pay to look good
Curious as to why you changed wheels. I loved the 22x12s. I just ordered a set for mine. Did you have problems??
The moment you trying backing up downhill or the first bump you hit while turning full lock left or right will rip your wheel liner out. I have the 34” tire on my 2011 Sierra with a 3.5” RC lift and -18 offset wheels…I had to get creative to get clearance. Still rub a bit when backing up.
If turning like that and the suspension compresses you’re going to rub.
Level ground , not moving tests are no good.

Yeah not to mention in reverse the front end dips down ever so slightly upon hitting the throttle.

Crazy I just put 295 65 20 on 2021 trail boss 2 inch wheel spacers along with level kit. Rubs big time. Tires measure 35.1 11.6 20

I put some high quality 2 inch wheel spacers on my trail Boss stock tires and I'm constantly having rubbing issues but it isn't the truck 🤤😉

Just get 295/65r20 it's pretty much the same size as 35/11.5r20 and you can find them in abundance.
A matte black sticker would probably give you a little more clearance.

Nitto’s website still doesn’t have the 35x11.5R20, just the 35x13.50. Have they told you when 11.5 will be available?

Nice man! I have 35x11.5s on my 2014 but with -25 chrome Arkon wheels and a lift. I live in Alabama as well, we should put my wheels on your truck if you ever lift it or put smaller tires back on. I honestly really just want to see the new body style with the Lincoln’s lol
did you have to trim your lug nuts with the 1/4" wheel spacers?
All good till you hit a bump in full lock and you will rub some I would just stick with the 34x11.50 to12ish
you mean a 295/60 x 20 which would equate out to a 34 by 11.5 tire.
I’m torn between buying wheels and tires or just putting big tires on my 20 in black Chevy wheels lol.

Honestly without the spacer you'd probably have a ton of room. Pretty crazy how much extra offset hurts tire size capability on these trucks.

I feell all full size trucks should be capable of running 35s and especially a trailboss. That's why I love jeeps wrangler, 35s fit and even 37, with some rub.

Where'd you find spacers that thin?? All I can find are 1"+
What is the offset of your wheels? Most people think lifts are required to run 35's and it is more dependent on wheel offset than anything. Too much negative offset brings the wheel turning radius out wider which guarantees more fender/wheel well rubbing.

What if you go off roading and the front suspension starts to articulate up and down, I guess that under those conditions those tires will definitely rub the side wall of the front fenders... I don't know, can you test that on your next video?
It'll definitely have some rubbing if you hit a speed bump or something while turning. I had around that much clearance between my tire and the fender liner while stationary, but it would rub if I hit a bump mid corner.

rst does not come with lift, you'll need 2" leveling kit or bigger to fit these properly

When the truck is moving and you have any weight or bumps in the road it will rub like crazy. Sure thing!! I suffered with that for so long. I can't take any more rubbing. You need at least a 6 inch lift.
4 inch lift would more than enough and it would give the TB a much better side profile in the process, but then you would probably want to run 35x12.5 Nitto tires.
I agree, 4 inch because the Trail Boss is already stock 2 inch. I'm gonna run 35 11.50 on 20.9 positive offset. I have 33 12.50 now with just a leveling kit. Good feed back guys.
Warning... Anything above 2 inches won't clear in most garages in major cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco Seattle etc... Even Universal Studies garage in Los Angeles won't clear.
