The Recon Grappler seems to be a Terra Grappler replacement. Let's face it one of the best things about the Ridge Grappler is that it's arguably the best looking off-road tire. Surely they wanted to retain the desirability that the Ridge Grappler has. I think I am going to give the Recon a try. It is interesting that you consider the Recon as more aggressive because it doesn't quite appear that way to me. I'd like to see the same sizes compared.

I agree with you, to be honest I think he may have just confused the 2 tires in the end. It wasn’t consistent with what he said throughout the video. I think the ridge grappler was the more off-road focused with on road manners and the recon was more on road focused with some off-road capability

Nitto's are some of the heaviest tires on the market so not good for mpg. Falkens as well. Unless you need a 3 ply sidewall for extra durability and stiffness there are better options.

At least where I live, the Ridge Grappler is the go to tire for every jacked up pick up truck that has never and will never see a trail in its life. Very interested in this new Recon grappler, glad to have more options. Toyo's Open Country ATIII is similar and also very good for overlanding.

Personally on my 2rd set of Ridge Grapplers after a 1st set of Terra Grapplers, all 35x12.5x18. Averaging about 55k miles on both the Terra and Ridge. All sets have been to the tip of Baja and back at least twice, using mostly dirt roads. Plenty of snow drift deep snow in the Eastern Sierras, and been all over the western United States including Moab and through many of Colorado's western dirt passes. I can say the Ridge Grappler might be the only set of tires I ever purchase for my trucks going forward. 120,000 miles on the F150 and about 30-35k of that off pavement, I have found my tire. My last truck ran only BFG. You don't know, till you know. The Recon might be great, but won't change my mind.

A 4x4 with an A/T tire shouldn’t have any problems in the snow. No need for people to get their panties in a bunch over a “snowflake” rating.

Bro ... I’m running M/T’s from Yokohama ... and let me agree with you first ... I have no issue in Idaho snow ... here’s the deal though ... kinda ignorant if you do any research, to say it isn’t a good thing to have snow rated tires. It is.
It’s a personal preference on how comfortable YOU are ... your / my 4x4 vehicle does nothing for you stopping ... and getting going is just as important in hilly terrain ... the more grip the better
Now I will say it another way ... I don’t buy my tires for the snow rating either ... but I’m not about to try and discredit the ones that are.
Just saying ... cause it’s mind blowing they would bring that out without it ... given the ridge is already in play without it
Watched litebright nation put the recons through some gnarly crap on a bronco raptor just recently ... and damn ... it’s gonna be recon or Baja boss for me ... I can’t decide

I'm here and I'm back again, to talk smack bout these new recon Grapplers. Although I do believe it's going to be a good tire, I see it as redundant. It looks like a hybrid! I'm sorry, maybe if it were at least 3peak moutain snowflake rated I wouldnt talk smack bout em.

My research says Ridge over Recon for the dirt, rock, and heat of Texas. Recon ends up having a softer compound that doesn’t make sense.

Why would anybody use a 20" wheel and tire offroad? Shitty flex,no air downed protection for the wheel and expensive as heck.

It's common to see A/T's on 22's. It's common to have that aggressive look. Naturally you'd want 18's with great tires, maybe 35-37's if you can manage. How many are going to Baja with their Raptor or TRX?
