My husband and I have been on carnivore for a month now. After a week, we felt terrible. We were both extremely fatigued. Previously, I was very healthy, no arthritis. Now, for the first time, I had a swollen ear, massive diarrhea, skin sore, and I was out of breath - felt like a heart thing. Other carnivore channels just say diarrhea will go away. One thing I learned is that you need the vegetables and fruits more in the summer when we sweat more due to hot weather . Wild fruits like blackberries, grapes and apples etc were naturally available in the hot season here in the US and they’re available year round in the tropics . Yams and sweet potatoes peppers and tomatoes grow wild in the tropics year round . I don’t worry too much about eating what is provided by god . Most of the hybrids we eat today have been changed drastically from what they once were so that may be part of the problem.
I was VERY active when I got sick from oxalates. It was the oxalates that ruined my health in the first place. I was working outside, doing physical work, and inside doing very physical work, but I was eating high oxalate foods with every stinking meal. And of course, no doctor knew why I was feeling fatigued, why my joints stopped bending properly and why I had a positive ANA. They wanted me to take a bunch of drugs for the rest of my life. I had NO idea about oxalates. I tried every diet at the time that seemed "healthy" including (what a joke) juicing and doing juice fasts. I didn't even begin to feel like I was going the right direction until I found out about oxalates and stopped eating plants. Still lots of joint pain and joints that won't bend like they should, but I'm better now than I've been in years.
Lol you are not alone I used to make spinach smoothie with grape tomatoes peppers and other veggies. I couldn’t understand why I got sicker instead of better.
I've been suffering from the same symptoms and also recently had a positive ANA! Only recently discovered this information about oxalates. How soon did you begin to feel your symptoms dissipate?
This is great info, when I was vegan I was eating nearly 100% Very High Oxalate foods😮 and I couldn't understand why I was dealing with so much pain🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I was completely unaware of oxalates, until I passed a kidney stone! I used an online list of oxalate contents and made an oxalate diary, and it's REALLY easy to eat below 100 mg per day. Most days I was eating less than 25 mg per day. Avoid potatoes, almonds, rhubarb, beans, and spinach and you are most of the way there. Fruit is almost oxalate-free, except for avocados. Some vegetables are very high, some very low, so looking at a list is useful. Grains, nuts, and seeds tend to be a problem, which counters everything you thought you knew about a "healthy diet".
@@regina6838 "coffee has very low oxalates" I'm not really convinced that it is true. There are conflicting reports and there may be some issues with measuring oxalate levels. I would like to see a good study yet which would convince me in either way...

I will say that finding about oxalates at this junction in my life has been a miracle. So many things make sense now. My platelets were going high again. They started to be dangerously high in 1995. I moved in late 1998 and found a tick doctor (I was lab tested positive for 3 different tick diseases). During this antibiotic treatments, my platelets went back to normal. It was an absolute miracle. However, my doctor died last year. I guess I need to give a bit of background. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. About 8 months later while on a road trip, my doctor called and said my blood glucose was dangerously high. I just cut out most carbs but not too strict. My brain was still a bit mushed from the cancer treatment and surgery. I was doing good but then I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2019. It was caught extremely early. Genetic testing came out negative. It was here that I did more research and buckled down. I decided to eat a cancer starving way of eating. I felt fabulous. Then in the middle of 2022 I started eating more nuts. They were on my approved list so why not? I started making and eating chaffles made with almond flour. Then, slowly, my joints and back started hurting. It was very similar when I had untreated tick diseases. I was so scared it was coming back. Started cat’s claw and it helped with the joint pain but 2 months in, my joint pain seemed to be getting worse. Then my platelets started going up and up and up. I was scared witless. Went to a blood doctor. She tested for all the known JAK2 mutations, I was negative. She said I should go to an arthritis doctor. I knew enough that I knew this was not the way I needed to go. I was already doing a strict keto. Then all of a sudden I had oxalates videos coming over my TH-cam feed. At first I just scoffed because it was so difficult to believe that what vegetables I could eat was trying to kill my. I watched many different sites and it finally struck me that maybe, just maybe, there was something about this. It was so easy for me to just go carnivore with some cheeses, heavy whipping cream, and sour cream. Oh My Goodness! My joints no longer hurt. My back feels normal. I’m excited to get my blood tested because I know my platelets will be normal. FYI: I was told that the platelets are made in the bone marrow and that my platelets were increasing due to inflammation. Why don’t doctors know about oxalates? I wish I knew about oxalates in 1995. Sure, I had tick diseases but with a healthy immune system, our bodies should be able to fight them. I was literally killing myself with healthy foods. I now know better - knowledge is power. But what is more powerful is to have the knowledge and the willingness to make sacrifices that will change my body/mind health. I am no longer ADHD - bonus. I now love my mind. I never ever cheat!

This explains so much. I have autoimmune disease and refuse to take meds for it. My Dr suggested the plant paradox (focuses on lectin removal), which I went into 100%. I was 'cured' of so many problems! My inflammation went away, my skin cleared up, brain fog went away, I had massive amounts of energy, and I lost 50lbs. I've started to focus more on the meat, and I'm already feeling better. Turns out, all the vegetables I was eating that are lectin free, contain oxylates, so essentially I traded one toxin for another. I had a very high Oxalate diet for most of my life (64 yrs) until close to 90 days ago I went carnivore. I was so sick with numerous issues including horrible daily leg pain, chronic exhaustion, sleep issues, weight issues, fibromyalgia, high insulin, and so much more. Since carnivore my leg pain is completely gone in the first week, I now sleep like a baby, (first time in years), have slowly lost over 20lbs; yet I'm having terrible back/rib pains when I get up in the am! It will dissapate as the day wears on, but always returns when I get up in the am. I also developed a bladder infection for almost 2 weeks (haven't had one in decades) when started carni. Tho I've gone from chronic exhaustion to chronic fatigue, to fatigue to just tired over the last 3 months. I share this for those who start a healthy carni diet but wind up with other issues. Having Chickenpox or Shingles allows the body to dump oxalates. When we get chickenpox as a child, it is mother nature doing an initial oxalate purge and the more oxalates in the body, the more pustules you will see.
Thanks for the video. It is great to hear about what you eat! I also eat white potatoes and some rice and mainly animal protein. I don't follow a low oxalate diet, but eliminating vegetables has probably meant I am getting fewer oxalates. I appreciate the awareness around these issues. Thank you.
Finding Low Oxalate diets is tricky. Each listing varies re: Low-High Oxalates. One list may say a food is Low and on another list it will be Medium or even High. There's no one listing to rely upon. Some foods show up High consistently, so those are clearly avoidable. It would really help if you would compile a new list.
The lists that nephrologists have come up with are pretty good since they are the medical doctors that have cared about the oxalate problem. Coffee is known to help reduce oxalate kidney stones

Plant based diet + high oxalate literally had me crippled. I was on a "super food" wfpb vegetarian for 3 years, was eating yogurt and cottage cheese. Almost everything I was eating was high Oxalates in extreme amounts. Full bag spinach salads, omg I get chills thinking about it. By the end I literally became cripple, my body was breaking down so bad between the lack of meat and extreme amounts of plant. I was poisoning myself everyday. My back and joints were horrible I couldnt move both my arms at one point because my shoulders were so bad. I'm a mechanic so my injuries just never healed and joints just got worse. The weird thing is you seem to get addicted to some of the foods. One such as pepper, I used to put like 10 of those little packs on my pizza at school.. used a ton of pepper my whole life. I started having back and joint pains at 20. Could never figure out why I was feeling 80 at 20. Going off plants for the last 4 years has given me less pain in my back and joints than I've had since 18, I'm 44 today. I never had much dumping that I identified specifically. I started on raw Milk right away when I went "carnivore". That may have helped with dumping, I drank 2-3 gallons a week, did kefir with 1/3 of it most the time.
I'm glad you're open to the idea that plants increase their alarm molecules in relation to the assaults that they face in their environment such as oxalates and salicylates that then get transferred to us. What is wrong with the world is Short Memory. Both oxalates and salicylates are life chemicals that have been with us from the beginning but Poison Is In The Dose. So how is it that former civilizations consumed the same foods and thrived but all of a sudden the modern world is melting down after a salad? NO ONE is taking an integrated look at The Problem. Part of the problem is a psyop called Raw Food. We developed cooking for express reasons of destroying anti-digestion (protease inhibitors) enzymes and if you had HARD WATER instead of municipal softened and aluminized poison then cooking alone would make soap of the oxalates and other toxins that could be skimmed while cooking. EVEN PARROTS IN THE JUNGLE EAT CLAY BEFORE CONSUMING THEIR MAIN FOOD SOURCE THAT IS A POISONOUS NUT! Nature adapts, people are fools. Yes, spinach is off the charts in oxalates. I hated it and swiss chard and beet tops since I was a kid. BUT what no one tells you is that beef, wheat, dairy, spinach, and lettuce also contain either opioids or their analogs so in a world where nearly everyone has over a dozen herpes-family viruses the ADDICTION to the OPIOIDS is what drives food choices. It's like being a drug addict without ever knowing that you were using a drug or addicted to it. If you are referring to Black pepper then that is a unique chemical that inhibits certain cytochromes. Even the ancient yogis in India knew there were two kinds of people without the benefit of clinical science: those who could tolerate or benefitted from cytochrome inhibition and those who were made seriously ill from it. Pretty much I subscribe to the Three Stooges version of medicine: "Doctor! Doctor! It HURTS when I do this!" "Then don't DO that!" I think 'dumping' is part of a psyop to get people's attention off of the fact that Roundup has so modified the entire biosphere that they talk about a word that has NO CLINICAL DEFINITION instead of doing root-case analysis. Cheers.

Peter D'Adamo and his father, through many decades of work, developed the Blood Type Diet. Each of the four basic types has foods that are beneficial, foods that are neutral, and foods to avoid - all based on many tests to determine which lectins affect which types, and how certain foods also disrupt or support the microbiome. I've benefitted from even loosely following the diet, and many even today report their issues being cleared up. Worth a look. (And BTW, the Plant Paradox book cribs from D'Adamo's work, although he never brings up blood types at all, so... stick with D'Adamo. Lectin considerations only make sense vis-a-vis blood types, and not on their own.)

I consumed 5 grams a day for ten years. It didn't kill me but, man, did it ***ck me up. I'm on 50mg a day now and dumping oxalate constantly. It's absolutely brutal. The problem is that, if your body can't excrete or metabolize your intake (and no one can with that quantity), you will probably redirect it to outlying areas where it will accumulate. That means you can go for a long time before you hit the crisis point. By then your health will be extremely compromised, and doctors won't know what is happening to you.
Having GI issues (autoimmune / leaky gut, dysregulated immune function) does not mean whole plant foods with oxalates are the problem. Think gluten and Celiac disease Sensitive people need to remove oxilates temporarily until they fix there dysfunction. Don't demonize plants with oxilates when it's certain individuals that are having a reaction that need to FIX their health issues and avoid oxilates until they do.
@@lowella8600 Here is the most up-to-date data based upon current research: Daily urinary oxalate excretion in healthy individuals: 10mg to 40mg. Average person's total capacity to metabolise and excrete (fecal) oxalate: around 250mg, depending on microbiome. That's 300mg in total that your body can process. And yet an average portion of spinach contains 1000mg. A spinach smoothie can top 2500mg of oxalate if you empty in the bag with some nut butter. So, let's look at that. You can excrete and/or metabolise 300mg daily. And yet you consume 2500mg in a day ... Or more ... Serious question, Lowell: Where do you think the rest went? Many people's microbiomes contain no oxalate degrading bacteria at all. Antibiotics wipe them out completely. But even if, let's say, YOUR microbiome is so damn exceptional that it can torch through 1000mg oxalate a day. You would still have 1500mg left in the tank. What do you think happens to that ...? If you eat low-ox' for the next week, your body may dump out the residue. But what if you are having those spinach and nut smoothies every day ...? I was. Along with piles of other high-ox' "superfoods". I was consuming 5000mg oxalate a day. Loads of people are nowadays. We are adopting extreme diets that we didn't have access to, even 100 years ago. Sure, fruit and vegetables are healthy, I eat them too. But humans simply aren't adapted to process three/four/five thousand milligrams of oxalate in a single day. Let alone, day after day for years on end. We need to make more informed choices based upon science and research.
@@justincanejo2744 Thanks for asking. It's still pretty horrible and full-on, to be honest, after 2 years low ox'. But I was consuming so much of the stuff, and for such a long time, it was never going to be a quick fix. I've had every test and tried every diet and supplement, the only thing that really reduces the symptoms is increasing my oxalate intake. That seems counterproductive at best, but it does reinforce the idea that the problems are all caused by dumping. I've become quite stoic, though. Are you going through this process yourself?

He’s convinced me that oxalate crystals are a big problem and that they can easily accumulate and form when only slightly spiking in the blood. One thing to note is GI absorbtion can be massively higher with leaky gut. I think the only potentially high oxalate food I’ve been consuming lately is guava but I can’t find proper info on whether it really is high in it, so I think I’m as low on oxalates as you get on plant food. Interesting you say you have hemochromatosis, and consume a lot of red meat. Iron has been the one thing I avoid like the pest (in particular meat thanks to excessive farming feed iron supplementation) as its accumulation is the biggest factor in mitochondrial disfunction and thus most disease, I believe.
I also am eating mainly meat but have to have some starch, bread, white potato or rice in order to feel comfortable. I don't eat a lot, but like he said, a little of one is not going to do much damage. I also follow Dr. Chaffe & Dr. Saladino and of course, Sally K. Norton.
I just started my Carnivore diet on July 4th n about 7-10 days into it I went to the ER cuz I had difficulty breathing . They did a cat scan n found that my Left lung had deflated a little n found mucous n start of Pneumonia. I assumed that I was Detoxing or Oxalate dumping. I have been suffering from chest congestion for over 10 years n had been taking Mucinex for 10 years. When I left the hospital, I got Antibiotics which I took for 2 weeks. I’m still recovering.. almost there . When I first started carnivore, by the 3rd day I lost 2 pounds of water. I’ve always had water retention issues. My Lymph nodes on my neck right below the chin had been Swollen for over 25 years n at one point taking Steroids for 4 years n weend off N was on Tylenol around the clock shrank by 80%. OMG I was shocked!!!!! I have more energy, mental clarity, better Digestion, no more bloating n cramps. My fingers use to get numb while I was putting on my makeup but hardly ever now. My skin looks better, my pores shrank. But my skin started itching.. here nnthere n more on my extremities. I’m thinking that’s detoxing as well.my sleep is still not that great but we’ll see maybe by 3rd month I hope to see more amazing results. This video was the best one yet regarding Oxalates… !!!! Thank you!!!
Have you heard of NAC it's amazing with lung issues... helps thin and clear out mucus. It helps in the production of glutathione which is our own powerful antioxidant produced by the liver. It's a game changer it really is. All the best 😊
Soak beef liver in milk for one hour in fridge then empty milk in sink and blot the liver with paper towels a little and fry in lots of butter. Soaking the liver in milk this way gives it a nice mild sort of sweet taste and a creamy texture. Your liver is done when there's no more blood. Never eat bloody liver. Love the video and a lot of good info. Thank you.
I went vegan and the green smoothies gave me Fibromyalgia. When i started eating meat again many problems i had due to veganisem went away.. The pain in my joints didn't go away. It took me years of pain and CFS to find out my "super foods" were killing me.
Yeah, I bought into the "superfood" stuff too... I used to fix meals each Sunday for our big family dinners and plan carefully how to squeeze in more/different superfoods. My "best" meal ever included 23 different superfoods. Looking back, it was probably the least healthy meal I ever served my family. 😢

Antibiotic usage puts you at increased risk of oxalate problems. Oxalobacter is particularly susceptible to antibiotics, and once killed you never get it back, and it's not available as a probiotics. Other oxalate-digesting bacteria are also destroyed.
@@versewriter8123 To some extent, some species of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium can. But Oxalobacter is the gold standard. People with oxalate problems usually lack Oxalobacter.
I went carnivores to desperately try to fix a skin issue which ended up being an oxalate poisoning. I only realised this once I started dumping from my nipple, which my rash has been around my lymphatic system. Il
Dr. Gundry is one of the reasons I’m sick from high oxalate. He has a TH-cam about eating the top three healthiest foods and two of them are okra and chard which are very high in oxalate so I ate them almost every day for a year. He also recommends lots of olive oil, which is high and salicylates, so I have him to thank for my oxalate poisoning.
I agree, this is incredibly difficult to figure out! I went full carnivore and now 5 days in. I am suffering greatly from it. Extreme nausea and diarrhea.
I'm glad he spoke of the oxalate issue Remedy . I've seen many carnivore videos that do not tell of these side effects. Sally Norton speaks of this as well as a way to help release oxylates at a slower pace instead of going full on carnivore right away.
I get a broken glass type feeling in my left elbow every once in a while. It’s not consistently but every once in a while and I can’t seem to determine what it is causing it. Maybe oxalates?
Oxalate is very reactive to heat. When you cook or roast oxalate rich foods, oxalate will decompose to co2, co and water. There is 0.15 mg /100 gms of oxalate in raw almonds. However, if almond is roasted slowly for 15 mins, it will have only 0.02 mg. So heat does really gets out a lot of oxalate. However, soaking doesn’t remove much. Having lemon juice and herbs like phyllanthus Niruri eliminates some amount of oxalate.
This is a serious issue for some people and people in the carnivore community are recommending things that make it worse, like eliminate dairy products or go on the Lion diet. This is happening to me right now and I almost had to go to emerge a few nights ago. It's not fun. It's actually quite frightening. Thank you Elliot for the info and all your work on this issue.
I wasn’t totally in the dark about oxalates and I was eating 🍽️ things that were high in them. Almonds! And others! It was accumulating in my body and I was totally unaware of what damage was taking place. I had a kidney stone attack!! I thought 💭 it was appendicitis!! And the pain was insane! I am still in recovery ❤️🩹 and waiting to pass this stupid thing. This was definitely a serious wake up call, to change my dietary choices!
I had TWO frozen shoulders .... not because of a rotator cuff problem ...I was eating too many Oxalates (former thinking) while thinking I was healthy. There was a reason why Chia seeds were not allowed in our diets until the book burning was complete. You just don't tear your shoulder out of no where ... and the oldest profession in the book is getting paid for something you know is wrong!former thinking ...I am detoxing from parasites ....
This is common for diabetics. The glycated cartilage tissues become brittle and cause the pain. Eventually they will be renewed. You can help with daily, twice daily massages of the shoulder with arnica salve.

I had dumped through urine about 6 months ago, kidney pain, pain on urination, thought I had a kidney infection but didn't. On providing a sample the bottom was completely full with crystals. I googled it and it said oxalates but no warnings it could cause harm. My father has end stage kidney failure and presents with issues I've got like joint, bone problems, neuropathy. Allergies, hives, urticaria rashes, the list goes on. Drs are stumped they have zero idea of what's wrong. I guess I'll try and find my way through this myself and start with a lower oxalate diet and map my progress. I think this has finally lead me in the right direction...
Gut disbiosis will lead to oxalate poisoning. Healthy and specific gut flora will break down things like oxalates and lectins(limited) in a healthy way. The biggest problem is that antibiotics kill off beneficial gut flora and they are never replenished resulting in an unhealthy gut that can’t handle oxalate. Doing the work to improve populations of beneficial flora can take a lot of time vs carnivore adaptation. If adding vegetal foods back in, fermented foods will be necessary to replenish beneficial flora and overdoing it can have unpleasant effects. 🚽🧻👍😇
I'm not sure why she's smiling so much. I can tell you right now she didn't take you seriously. She went 100% carnivore for a while and bitched that it was making her feel worse and that the flaking on her scalp wasn't better. Umm could it be because she ate freaking sweet potatoes every day for a while? I used to follow her but I stopped when she did the 100% carnivore experiment and didn't attribute any of her symptoms to oxalate dumping, which was well after this interview. Don't get me wrong, I'm only about 95% carnivore but at least Im on a low oxalate diet since I'm aware of it's terrible effects.
I'm seriously tired of trying to figure out what to eat. My cardiologist says to eat very little meat, if any. So no grains, pasta, meat, veggies, sweets, dairy and the list goes on. Am I supposed to live off of air!

In the vast majority of kidney oxalate stone formations the causes are dehydration, low urine movement & inadequate vitamin C which only forms increased oxalates in “vitro” (urine in a petri dish) & not in vivo (in the body) of otherwise healthy kidney GFR presenters with moderate magnesium levels. By magnesium I mean a type that is bioavailable, which is usually not available on store shelves. Instead magnesium “oxide” is everywhere, which falls in the lowest 4%+- in bioavailable even in the presents of manganese, zinc, copper, etc. Apparently to few understand these EBM studied evaluations of the oxalate relationship and can give helpful insight that is sadly not being explained. It’s like people that think calcium & D3 are a panacea for optimum blood levels & proper site tissue delivery of calcium when other molecules must be present for that to happen, as well as the body having hundreds of vitamin D receptors. Otherwise what nutrients are you stating as having known reduced oxalate conditions?
Hello, I have developed symptoms of vitamin b6 intoxication (neuropathy). Researching on the internet I have seen that Dr.Lonsdale says that vytamine b6 intoxication is only documented in old clinical documentation and that he has used large doses of vitamin B, without any problems having occurred. Highly doubtful many people were stronger or fitter than I was. My Natural T was 1250 for example , I was strong and supposedly fit but daily high oxalate for decades ruined my kidney function, my digestion, my sleep (went on CPAP) etc. 2.5 years into carnivore and fixed a lot but still dumping huge doses and having crazy health stuff come up doctors always misdiagnose but which ends up to be dumping. (stroke, gout, all kinds skin stuff etc)
I was very fit and became extremely ill after 20 some years of vegetarianism. Pretty much every system went down the tubes. took me 8 years to figure it out. Doctors were useless....i know just what you mean.
Me too. I have been carnivore for 3.5 years. Still go thru some dumping cycles but am so much better than I was. I literally thought I was going to die.
For years I used to have gut and digestion issues. I used to eat all the so called "healthy" " super foods" he mentioned, high antioxidant plants, nuts and seeds. Vegetables high in plant toxins for years thinking i was eating so good! Then I started listening to my favorite carnivore health expert, Paul Saladino and switched over to a more carnivorish diet with less plant foods and toxins and I started dumping oxylates. I also stopped taking calcium a couple years before, thinking it caused plaque to form in the arteries. I'm pretty fit, age 49. I love lifting weights, working out and being active. But once I was eating more carnivore I felt so sore all the time so i stopped exercising as much daily and thought it would help but it didn't. i think it got worse actually. I've had so much unexplained pain in shouldered and strange issues like itchy rashes that will never go away. So I'd take tumeric, high in oxylates! is there an accurate list of foods high in oxylates?
@@justincanejo2744 I now have a pretty severe mast cell disorder so I do not take any supplements at all. When I feel the dumping I basically go on a raw milk diet until it lets up.
Some facts that people don’t consider when wondering why vegetables are causing them problems: Nothing we are eating existed for our ancestors. Virtually everything is a hybrid or gmo. Our ancestors used plants as a survival food when they couldn’t get meat, or maybe indulged in some seasonal fruit just a few months a year. That fruit was also a fraction of the sugar content. Many of us old enough can even notice the difference between now and when we were children. Compare a wild strawberry or apple to what you get in the produce department. 10x sweeter than wild. Second, early humans, with the exception of some very tropical areas, ate animal flesh and milk most of the year. We developed very strong gut bacteria, that could easily handle the oxalates, lectins etc that we had minimal exposure to. We didn’t eat every damn 30 mins either. We didn’t have numerous environmental toxins affecting our gut health. I have found extraordinary results from an animal based diet. Carnivore is a healing diet, individual genetics/damage will determine how many fruits and vegetables you can work in after you have healed. Grains are nothing more than slave food.
I was unknowingly eating healthy foods that happened to be extremely high in Oxalates . During this time i was feeling like a was being poisoned. Went carnivore and problems are gone.
This Oxalate poisoning thing is no joke. It was the missing piece that was killing me slowly. Seemingly unrelated health problems disappeared when i eliminated oxalates and nightshade plant family foods!
I have a lichen planus patch on my head that's been with me for 20 years. I would like more information on how to heal this. I wonder what the root cause is.
I am metabolically healthy, on 0 drugs, I believe I have a fast metabolism (but its not like I was ever tested for that), I have tons of energy (I just walked 11.64 miles today), my waist is 24 inches around, I am lean & muscular (especially my legs) and I cannot eat ANY oxalates! Eat a bit and I get pain in my body. I also have EDS, and a severe gluten sensitivity. I am mostly living on grass fed meat because I have problems with so many foods. I also have IgG reactions to many foods and I react to airborne cooking fumes & fumes from stuff like air freshener & perfume. Can't even eat 1 small kiwi fruit. Mainly eat lamb, beef plus a few carrots & prunes (organic of course). I also have problems with sulfur too. React to bananas which are low in sulfur but can't eat them. I do drink kombucha and that contains green tea and I do tolerate that. But I can't eat even a bit of the fruits or veggies that contain oxalates as I get joint pain pretty fast.
@@TheMiriam333 I get ringing in my ears even when upright (and when in bed if I roll over the ear ringing starts up right away very loud), it makes the Pots worse and then I am more likely to get that nausea feeling in certain positions, it gives me joint pain especially in my elbows, I get constipated, more gas & bloating. Plus my HRV just keeps dropping lower and lower too. I used to eat bananas all the time. Every day. And for years I had this awful lower back pain. It would come if I tried standing for a time in one spot or if I tried laying flat on my back. Also if I would start going for a walk my lower back would start killing me. Awful pain. Then I cut out bananas for a few months and tried eating them again. And boom! The pain was back! So these days I am almost carnivore. I do think my EDS gives me more gut issues & the MCAS than actual joint issues. But if I would be eating a normal diet of all that " healthy" produce my joints would be so bad I wouldn't be able to walk at all. I personally believe the high fat from the meat raises the LDL which helps heal the joints during deep sleep but that is just my opinion. I am not a doctor. My arms certainly failed a reflex test - the tendons are shot I guess. As soon as I try those produce items I get bad joint pain but my pcp can't understand why I won't eat the stuff. My baby finger sublaxes and I have had problems with my right shoulder for years since 2018 at least. And in the past I believe I had ribs sublax but at the time I was clueless what it was. The thing is I have autism, celiac (gluten sensitivity) and react to manmade smells too (mcas). My joints were definitely worse before I was eating all of this meat. Hope this helps. And its not just bananas. I actually got BAD ear ringing WHILE i was eating papaya. I guess that one was the worse in terms of the ear ringing causing foods. And watermelon makes my heartbeat skyrocket to 140+ while I am at a slow walk which is NOT normal at all.
@@TheMiriam333 the answer is to avoid those bad foods! Which unfortunately is most foods. I think I had leaky gut for many years which lead to countless food sensitivities plus one doctor I saw thinks its the MCAS. MCAS is often comorbid with hEDS. And the EDS I have is most likely hEDS. I certainly have the skin writing and everything that Dr Afrin mentions in his book "Never Bet Against Occam". And many people on the spectrum have problems with sulfur foods too. Its like they can't process it or something. For the moment I am just avoiding countless foods. The good news is that on this crazy diet I don't catch colds or flu! Haven't been sick since 2018 (and that was from someone who had convinced me to eat a small fruit pie - bad decision!!) ... But even during this pandemic had 0 symptoms of the C-19. I only get these dumb food reactions if I try a food. And I get burning eyes, brain fog, face swelling from stuff like air freshener (which would be the MCAS). But I do believe all of these conditions work together to make each other worse. I recall one time eating some bread from a bakery before I knew I was gluten sensitive and boy did it ever do a number on my knees! You would have sworn I had advanced arthritis!! I could barely get up onto the bus or even walk a block. And to get up off the toilet I had to hang onto the doorknob and pull myself up with great difficulty!! So these foods really affect the EDS. And it took a long time for the knees to heal! I was just diagnosed with EDS in Dec 2021. I am 50 now. But my whole life I had thought my joints were normal...never realized other people didn't have elbows that bended backwards or that they didn't have toes that go up 90 degrees in the air!
ao.....when you look up anti inflammatory foods, turmeric with black pepper to make it more bio available, is always recommended.....but if you have inflammation from oxalates you would be exasperating the problem! I have been giving this remedy to my elderly dad for years for his arthritic knees....he eats turmeric with black pepper daily!
I am going off Oxalate, I am going slow and having only minor dumping problems, such as, I am exhausted, my joints are painful. My only real problem is no one agrees on what foods are high and low. One list says Kale is fine another says it's not. I am a gardener and have been tossing high oxalate veggies. I am leaning toward carnivore dieting; I am very adaptive and do not mind the change since it is for my health. This is very hard when I am not told what to eat. Where can we find a comprehensive list? Thank you.
i believe i have oxalate overloading. I have been physically active doing exercise on a regular basis. My high metabolic buffering was not able to prevent the oxalate effects. I believe that my lifestyle may have merely helped to move the effects of oxalate poisoning down the line for it to be later expressed in my late fifties.

One of the main issues with fruit and vegetables is they’re all available throughout the year, so we’re eating food that is naturally out of season.
It's one problem yes, absolutely.
Most of those foods would never even be "in season" outside of a supermarket anyway.
you, not me.

I have constant kidney stones, I'm hoping this is the key
@@seekthtruth i am shocked at how every day I feel healthier and healthier eating a carnivore with dairy (heavy whipping cream, butter, cheese, full fat sourcream). My mind is clear, my body feels amazing, i no longer have any joint pain. I’ve never had stones which I am so grateful for. But, if you can do this, you will see the changes in your total health. I will say that my cholesterol went up but my good cholesterol also went way up. I’m personally not concerned, I think everything Will work it’s way to my new normal. I just can’t believe how good I feel! I do not ever cheat.

Then almost as suddenly, my symptoms started coming back no matter how 'clean' I was eating. I found my body unable to consume vegetables - any of them at this time make me sick. I've started to focus more on the meat, and I'm already feeling better. Turns out, all the vegetables I was eating that are lectin free, contain oxylates, so essentially I traded one toxin for another.

Most East Indian dishes are loaded with oxalates. I don 't think that they suffer from high oxalate symptoms. I wonder why.
Doctor! It HURTS when I do this!" "Then don't DO that!"
I think 'dumping' is part of a psyop to get people's attention off of the fact that Roundup has so modified the entire biosphere that they talk about a word that has NO CLINICAL DEFINITION instead of doing root-case analysis.

I've done his diet I'm a boos type O myself ,and he does mention blood type O do better on carnivore diets because we don't do well with carbs,I followed his recommendations it worked but was having flare ups its oxylates so I decided to go full carnivore instead and see more improvement, but yes his book is awesome is just that years of eating oxylates ruin your health over time and I have celiac which makes oxylates work much worse as he stated in another video and now I understand my problem
@@admar6934 I've always wondered why different blood types exist in the first place. There must be a reason. Bart Kay (whose work I love) says that blood type has no bearing on what you eat. I believe he says that if you're a human, you're designed to be on a carnivore diet.
The blood type has worked for me I am a blood type O and according to Peter adamo Os are more of a carnivore less carbs at least 1 or 2x a week because our bodies don't do well in carbs and he mentions lectins and other things, he's Bern around for years so it gets me that he's this accurate and alit of people do carnivore but don't succeed they might in the beginning but then problems will come in the long run, everyone's body is different, but do remember God as our creator loves variety and he always mentions that life us in the blood because is where our DNA is found therefore he encourages us to respect ,and I don't know if you've seen recent articles where scientists are now speaking more on your blood type and the roles of different diseases so this is good news is coming out to light

@heymate how are you doing these days with the dumping?
@@justincanejo2744 Thanks for asking. It's still pretty horrible and full-on, to be honest, after 2 years low ox'. I've had every test and tried every diet and supplement, the only thing that really reduces the symptoms is increasing my oxalate intake. That seems counterproductive at best, but it does reinforce the idea that the problems are all caused by dumping.
I've become quite stoic, though.

If I’m not eating lots of citrus, I have serious problems with Oxalate. But, if I’m taking in citrus, I don’t have any issues!!

Antibiotic usage puts you at increased risk of oxalate problems. Oxalobacter is particularly susceptible to antibiotics, and once killed you never get it back, and it's not available as a probiotics. Other oxalate-digesting bacteria are also destroyed.
OMG ..
Which are the other oxalate degrading bacteria?
@@versewriter8123 To some extent, some species of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium can. But Oxalobacter is the gold standard. People with oxalate problems usually lack Oxalobacter.

She went 100% carnivore for a while and bitched that it was making her feel worse and that the flaking on her scalp wasn't better.
Apparently to few understand these EBM studied evaluations of
the oxalate relationship and can give helpful insight that is sadly not being explained.
It’s like people that think calcium & D3 are a panacea for optimum blood levels & proper site tissue delivery of calcium when other molecules must be present for that to happen, as well as the body having hundreds of vitamin D receptors.

Some facts that people don’t consider when wondering why vegetables are causing them problems:
Nothing we are eating existed for our ancestors.

EDS, too. What happens to you when you eat a banana?
@@sarahb.6475 I hope you find your answer! Elliott is doing so much to get good info out there.
@@sarahb.6475 Thank you for sharing your story! What is EDS though?
I think high oxalate can cause high blood pressure.
ao.....when you look up anti inflammatory foods, turmeric with black pepper to make it more bio available, is always recommended.....but if you have inflammation from oxalates you would be exasperating the problem!
I am leaning toward carnivore dieting; I am very adaptive and do not mind the change since it is for my health. This is very hard when I am not told what to eat. Where can we find a comprehensive list? Thank you.
