It perfectly explains that look on his face when his attempts to scare Donkey off _don't work_ and why he asks if Donkey "Really?" isn't afraid of him or bothered by him being an ogre.
*I’M NOT THE ONE WITH A PROBLEM!!!! OKAY?!?! IT’S THE WORLD THAT SEEMS TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME!!!!!! PEOPLE TAKE ONE LOOK AT ME AND GO “AHH!!!! HELP!!!!! A Big stupid ugly ogre.” They judge me before they even know me. That’s why I’m better off alone.
There is a reason so many movies ripped of Shrek and Donkey's dynamic. Perrito was kind of the Donkey of The Last Wish, but he still felt like a different character. Also, when it comes to the spin-off, Puss worked as a main character because he's an adventurer. Donkey is just comedic relief.
The campfire scene is even better in the broadway musical! The scene starts with Donkey asking Shrek who he’d choose to be if he had to choose something other than an Ogre. Shrek starts out reluctantly talking about being a Hero, but then he goes through verses about Vikings and Poets, getting more passionate about the fantasy each time. But then he pauses, and sings sadly “But not for me…” He reprises the lines his parents sang in the opening song about how Ogres live alone and unwanted, with no dreams coming true. So then he returns to Hero, singing about saving the day, rescuing the damsel and finding true love and getting a perfect happy ending. The song would be great if it was just that. But what really makes it stand out are Fiona and Donkey’s verses. Fiona appears in the background, letting the audience see her Ogre makeup for the first time. She also sings the lines about how Ogres are always alone, before reprising the chorus from the song that played when we first met her, about knowing her prince will save her and she’ll get a happily ever after. Meanwhile Shrek goes back to singing about being a hero at the same time. During all this, Donkey comes in and starts singing back up to them with the lines from the opening. Except now it’s “you’re all alone…” because he’s singing out of sympathy for them. A great musical adaptation of an already great scene.
Donkey is a static character so a Donkey spin-off movie would need to focus on a different character's adventure with Donkey tagging along Similar to how Ferris from Ferris Bueller's Day Off isn't the focus character despite being the protagonist with the film named after the character
I think that a Donkey movie could work if they give him some sort of flaw that he has to overcome by the end of the movie. Because the way Denkey, he's a full character. Maybe something with his Dragon wife and Hybrid kids?
Shrek's moment where he recounts being judged before being known is one of the strongest scenes in this film imo.
One of the strongest in the whole series.

"This would be so much easier if I wasn't color blind" 😂😂

I really didn't like Shrek the Musical but I won't deny that 'Who I'd be' is a pretty good song.
Dude is legitimately gifted. One day you'll be all over everyone recommendeds
I always loved Shrek and Donkey’s Dynamic. Literally the best aspect of the movies. ^_^
I can see a pretty good donkey movie with him and dragon tbh. Like an adventure with those two would be fun
I'd be open to something like that. Although I think it would maybe work better as like a 20 minute short film rather than a full movie.
I now know why Shrek was one of my childhood franchises.
Not the Overwatch clip 😭
I liked both Puss in Boots actually…intrigued by a 5th Shrek and then a Donkey movie though

That could work!
Shrek and Donkey for president.
She called me a "Noble Steed". :D
I am so very excited for the upcoming movie! I really hope they keep the same magic as the originals
First video I’ve seen from you. Enjoyed the video and great quality. I look forward to seeing more.
