    People complain about the noise the engine makes. It is NOT all that bad. At cruising speed it is fairly quiet.
    My wife and I rented an Adventure for 8 days last summer. The 8 speed gas engine.
    Yes it was a bit noisy when you accelerated. But once you hit cruising speed you could barely hear it.
    Plus with the JBL (or regular sound) system you could NOT hear it at all.
    For us the over 30 MPG we got overall on our 8 day trip was surprisingly impressive....AND worth it.

    The XLE trim is where its at if you at least dont want to have hub caps in your vehicle (which is embarrassing) and fog lights. The XLE Premium isnt worth the upgrade over Regular XLE because its a $2,705 MSRP difference for things like leather seats (just buy $600 leather seat covers instead), a moonroof (which is something that could potentially start to leak or break down the line), more vehicle speakers (the regular ones work just fine), the built in GPS (kinda useless since it comes with Android Auto + Apple CarPlay). I say save the $2,705 and just go with the XLE.

      I disagree. The Adventure trim and up are the only gas models with the better AWD. IF I'm buying a Rav4 I want the good All Wheel Drive. Not that old lame one.

    Recently bought a rav4 initially was set on getting a last gen but dealers were asking too much I payed 30k and got an xle premium. Excellent vehicle and easily the best value out of all the rav 4 and possibly the segment. Just look out for dealer discounts and rebates.

    We've had our 2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE for half a year now and we couldn't enjoy it more! Makes for a great family car and highway cruiser! I love all the safety features that come standard (Toyota Sensing 2.0) and its IIHS Top Safety Pick rating which is always reassuring. It has just the right amount of features to keep everyone happy such as the sunroof, dual zone climate control, rear A/C vents, etc. The only complaint that I have that many others have is that jerky 8-speed automatic transmission. I've noticed that when you come to a complete stop and then accelerate, the transmission jerks you really hard enough to slam your head on the headrest. It's very unrefined in that sense but other times it's fine. We don't drive it all that often to really notice anyway so it's a great overall SUV to have that you can't go wrong with.

    Why won't the windshield defogger button come on my 2020 rave4 LE after its set to come on when I start the engine to warm up and melt snow of the windshield the next day by using my remote key fob but it defaults to a slower fan speed instead of the full on defogger fan speed to melt ice an snow? All 2020 rav4s do this. Thanks. I'd very much appreciate your help. ✌

    Toyota had a reputation for making good vehicles but to maintain that reputation Toyota should address the issues or problems in their previous models before moving on to the following year, it is frustrating to know that Toyota knows of the issues and problems prior to the following year but because praises and money they chose to inconveniently overlooked the problems ☹😡👎

    The hybrids dont have a CVT in any way.. Toyota calls it a "eCVT" but, its one gear ratio, not a cvt, its direct drive directly to the wheels, Just like all most all hybrids.. its a dual electric motor direct drive to the wheels with a power split device (differential) on the gas engine.. For drive modes on the Hybrid rav4 , it has only 3-4 modes , normal, trail, and eco.. ev mode just allows it to run pure ev mode in any mode, at low speeds.. parking lots etc.. One notable change in the 2020 from the 2019 is the addition of android audio to the audio system.. The biggest awaited change for 2020 is the 2021 Rav4 Prime (avalable in summer of 2020) its a Hybrid PEHV with 300 hp.. second fastest vehicle in the Toyota line up, only beat by the supra.

    • @oldarkie3880
      @oldarkie3880 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The direct drive electric motor is only to the rear wheels. The front is CVT from the gas engine.

    • @Ebacherville
      @Ebacherville 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oldarkie3880 wrong .. the gas the car moves without the gas engine.. the gas engine is on a differential with the electrics and the car can drive with zero gas engine . And the front wheels drive the car in this mode. EV mode.

ALSo the power liftgate and power seats are nice you can also add heated seats and upgrade the media system to 8" in the LE fairly cheaply... LImited comes with all that stuff.. and memory drivers seat and a few fancy adds like the virtual camera rear view mirror etc. but IMHO XLE is where you get the best value if your looking for some nicer additions and hate leather/fake lether.

    Why do these “complete” reviews always fail to mention the manufacturing defect impacting these models? Virtually all of the 2019 and 2020 RAV4 hybrids have the dreaded fuel tank issue, in which no more than 10 or so gallons go in, or in extreme cases (like mine) the tank only takes THREE gallons. And the advertised 40 mpg can be as low as 26 mpg, which is what I got in my first 5k of driving. Toyota calls even extreme cases like mine “normal operating characteristics” so refuses to fix them. Thus, buyers may get a vehicle with less than a 100 mile range, which makes it not a useful vehicle as the review states. So buyer beware, especially since Toyota is fraudulently (depending on the state you’re in) failing to disclose these substantial ways in which the vehicle fails to conform to specifications.

      I can tell you why...at least in California. Demand is so high and supply is so low that dealerships are charging a “markup premium” of $3-5K above MSRP. Even with high CA gas prices, you will only save 100 gallons in a year (assuming you drive 12k miles a year). That equates to just $350 gas savings a year. It’ll take ~10 years to break-even. Not worth it.

    this review is stupid - for a start Toyota has stellar reliability but this new RAV has not proven itself yet - the new hybrid complexity along with the CVT will not be as reliable as conventional RAVs and based on past experience of problems with hybrids, this new model will have massive problems and will depreciate more in value - my recommendation is don't buy it until it has proven itself and certainly, do not listen to this bozo
