I've finished putting in a motor, paint& body and custom interior in my 02 mc. I learned alot from you bro. I'll soon upload a video on it.
Ok...I'm tuned in
@@SprayWayCustoms how can I get in touch with you?
I'm definitely going to watch ⌚
I went to trade school about 1 year ago and honestly I didn’t learn much. Learned mostly out in a shop and watching TH-cam videos. But I think your channel has taught me more than anything since the videos are easy to understand yet very detailed. So just wanna thank you for the time you put into these videos keep up the good work man. Much respect for you 👊
Spot on. Even though it is definitely valuable, all you learn in school is the basics. Putting in that work is where you pick up those nuggets of knowledge. Dont give it up.
100% correct man. I appreciate you
You didn't learn anything??
@@warrenlewis3977 They just teach the basics. Which if you don’t know much it’s a good way to learn the foundation of auto body. Most of my experience and knowledge came from working in a shop as well as google. Not saying going to trade school is a waste it actually helps out. However if you have the chance to learn at a shop first instead of school I’d say go for it since they teach you more and you get experience as well since you’d be out in the field.
@@Hgomez101 I see your point Henry. 👍
Beautiful work, prep is the most important part of the painting process
Part of why I love watching you two work brother!
Pharraway you and sprayway the truth! Thanks for all the inspiration
Yes it is....that's one step you can't skip
Class is in session.. You do a great job of explaining the steps you take. The results speak for themselves.
Greatly appreciated
Keep the videos comin sprayway! I learned in trade school back in 97-98. Im just now gettin back in it. Your videos are awesome bro!💪😎
Appreciate the support
@@SprayWayCustoms no prob. This is my passion man. Im just finally to the point i can pick it back up! Watchin you got me in tha game!! Big love from (soon to be) Lakeside customs! Oklahoma baby!💪😎💙
You know exactly what you're doing. Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks JD
I can say glad you picked it back up and decided to share on this platform, sharing not just your knowledge but tips you learned from others... influence is spread in many forms and I truly appreciate you and a few other channels that share tips with us
Thanks for the support Bryan
You’re a hard worker. You’re even harder to get contact with. Keep up the good work
Lol 😂😂That's something I have to agree with. Thanks man
@@SprayWayCustoms I contacted you last year about my 87 Monte Carlo LS. You sent me your email address but I never got in touch
Mr Sprayway I have a lot of respect for you the way you take the time to show us the tips, I always look forward to watching your videos I always learn a bunch thanks again for sharing the awesome content much appreciated
Thanks for the support Dean M
I’m learning how to do body work on my Monte Carlo by watching this guy 💯
I never went to school. I had a friend help me/show me how to do it. The first car I painted was black. So I learned a bunch right away. The only way you learn is by putting hands on the car. There is always room for improvement. I think painting over all in a backyard shop is far harder than a guy in a booth.
You're correct. If you can do it in the back yard you'll act a fool in a real booth
My question is: Will 600 grit leave a rough enough surface for the base coat to adhere ? or is 400 grit the better choice ? Anyway another really informative DIY video and I thank you.
Read your tech data sheet, it will vary for the different manufacturers.
With Sherwin Williams/matrix 600 is good for Metallics, 400 for solid colors
600 grit is too fine
Thanks. Yes 600 will be fine for adhesion
thats is where everyone has a different opinion ..... I like to paint over 500 grit paper... fine enough scratch to give a good mechanical bite...
Man you do great work love your videos
Thanks Lonnie
Good information SprayWay. A great paint job always starts with the prep work.
Yes it does. Thanks
You are such a down to earth, chill guy! I feel like no matter what, anyone that mentions you follows it up by how nice and helpful you are. This world could use many more individuals as yourself! Also, your videos are great! Many props and thanks for sharing your knowledge
Thanks for the encouraging words Bolt Husky 🤝
Make sure the sand paper scales match. Cami (American) & P (European) Example: 600 cami is same as 1200p. They are close to the same until 220. They have a chart for reference.
Yes...you're correct Jeff
Man appreciate you for the content. You are exactly right. I get a lot of knowledge just from watching your videos. If I ever get my back together in this lifetime. I'm gonna try some of that on something in my side drive. 🎨🤣
Thanks for the support man
Sprayway you are a great person and Teacher, love how every video you show us step by step and talk to us about what you're doing and what to use and what not to use. I appreciate you for sharing your skills with us. You're a gentlemen and a scholar. Keep up the great work Sprayway, and God Bless you and your family. Until next time, I can't wait to see it getting painted .💪🏼💯👍👍🙏🙏

Sprayway is a straight Gee for posting all this content. YEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

Thanks family I'm so interested in learning this well explained ✊💙 I'm🔒 in
You got it. Thank you
Looking good! Do you do this full time or do you have a day job? If so, what do you do for a living?
Basically full time now. I did insulation for a living
@@SprayWayCustoms Nice. Good for you. You’re very talented.
You rock dude, your friend paul from
Canada 🇨🇦….. you are plain good ! …. Ps I liked your 22 minute “ journey “ moment lol
Thanks Paul
Ok ok so wow I think I am getting it , thanks this is great 👍 real deal here I am at this point on my build . I understand now, thanks sir.
Right on. Thanks
I went to trade school in 2014, but I learned from the school of sprayway too. There ain’t a video on your page I haven’t watched at least twice. Really appreciate you real talk.💪👍
Appreciate that support. I'm the same way
Even the primer looks good brother love it love your work
Appreciate you Eugene
I’m painting a 97 obs right now. I’ve learned a lot from your videos. Thank you.
Thanks Dave...that's great
The best way to learn is find a person you can work with side by side to learn. When I learn I went to go help an older guy for free for 3 months 35 years later still at it
That's correct man
Brotha I love how u show an tell your knowledge an u go over an beyond to explain been watching this whole ttop repair i own one how can i contact u i in mobile al.
ok then thanks. sprayway123@gmail
Man I've learn more from you on here sense I been watching keep up the good work
Thanks Nigel
No corners cut here! Awesome job sir! Keep
The videos coming 🔥🔥🔥
Sure will Juan
I went to trade school for 2 years for auto body and welding. I think I learned more from TH-cam. Keep in mind this was before TH-cam existed lol. There’s too many guys and they just give you tools and let you loose. It was very useful to have access to basically every tool ever made short of a water jet, but basically it’s the experienced students that wind up teaching the rest. Buy a junker and start making mistakes 😂
I agree totally JV
In here brother I know it's been a while. had a lot going on in my life but what hurt us makes us stronger 🤝
No doubt. I appreciate you fam
Yess suhh keep doing what you do OG!♟💪🏾
Sure will... appreciate you
God Bless you bro for dropping all this knowledge. Truly blessed with an amazing talent when it comes to what you’re physically doing as well as the delivery of your videos, editing, commentary, etc. Been rocking with you for a while and here to say every vid I’ve viewed has been entertaining and educational. 💯💯💯💪🏾💪🏾🙏🏾
I appreciate that....yes you been with me since the begining.
Bro I been watching you for a while ...!! .. this is your best narrated video ... I wish you'd do a full paint series explaining every step and products .. like I've never painted a car and don't know what sealer is for and when it's needed ..
I just painted my motorcycle following a TH-cam guys instruction and it came out absolutely incredible
Ok.. thanks John
I’ve learned a lot from you’re channel. You explain the process very well. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Much respect 👍
Thanks Darrell
Right here with you Spray 💯💯💯
Thank you Dan
Looking good SprayWay, its gonna be another beautiful masterpiece when your done.
Thanks Bo

Thanks a lot
I went to trade school in 1997, my pops Nem Ala Boyz in Cleveland, Oh.Always was spraying cars, detailing or beating on a house" In 2022 I would go TH-cam 100% and not have a student loan. But the curriculum is what it is"
Setting up Frame machines, length sidesway, height, compatible solvents, isocyanates, etc.
But I've learned a lot from you too" that's the main thing, keep picking up new stuff and keep picking up new tools💯💯
Thanks Patrick. The support is greatly appreciated
Hey Majik Marv... Your a very Inspiring Man and teacher. Can you show us how to hang a door back on the car? Alot of folks afraid to remove doors. It's like Taboo subject to DIY' s..
Thanks Mike...sure can
I learned myself picking little here and there and lots of mistakes. But thanks the man upstairs I got the hang of it. Now I’m a pro!!! Or just good enough 🤣Now I got my own painting booth and frame puller with 40x80 shop in back of my house. if you like the tray and you are a perfection you’ll get there!!! And always put God in your life you will get there. I love painting it a awesome job and giving people there dream car like they always wanted it to look like it a nice feeling. Hey my friend got blessings for and your family. Awesome job!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the support and your inspiring story
Always Great Content 💯💯💯💯💯💯🔥💪🏼 It’s SprayWay
Much appreciated KTK
Master Paint and Body man at work
Thanks Andrew
Nice work bro. I prefer wet sanding for sure. It's all about the feel of the surface.
Yes it is
Trade school in 1997 and started in 2014. That talent I'm painting a 1969 Chevy bus
Yes indeed
Great tutorial brotherman, and I seen you trying to bust a move with the music, being happy while you work, that's how we all should roll. Thanks.
Yes indeed Rick. That's what keep me going working alone
Just subbed I'm painting 🖌️ down here in at firehouse 4 🚒 salute from ❤️ Mexico 🌮🌮
Great..thank you
That MC is going to hurt some feelings this summer 4Sho. She’s coming along nicely Sprayway. 💯💪🏽🔥🔥
Thanks man
Thanks for making videos. I have learned a majority of my skills from watching your videos. I have a question. How long after you wet sand your primer do you have to get the paint on before you have to scuff up your primer again?
Once you sand it you can wait until whenever..If you let it sit to long just make sure you wash it off and wipe it down with wax and grease remover
Sprayway by far your videos have taught me so much, wish I could you what I’ve done just by watching your videos…bless you brotha and keep banging
Thanks Corey
Amen with that message didn't have no money to pay any one had to learn the hard way but in the end it all pays off !!! Looking good as always ;)
Keep smashing...
Yes indeed
Its like getting body work lessons from T.I ..lol
Man I loved watching this bro you're so detailed with explaining
😂😂much appreciated
Bruh shout out to you fam. I learn everything about body work and painting from your channel. Just did my first spray job on my crv and it came out great. Not perfect but damn near close lol
Thanks 🙏🏾 glad to hear that
Sprayway, what's your real name? Love all your videos. And your attention to detail is old school which will never be back after our generation is gone. Or we get too old to work. We'll only be able to talk about how hard we worked. And no one will have the attention span to hear about it! Ugh. :)
My names Marvin
I can’t wait to see that metal flake & candy paint! 🔥🔥
Stay tuned...I'm on it now
SpraywayCustoms great title, but your channel is the trade school!! Keep em coming Bro
Appreciate you
In real time, how long does a project like this take?
Are you referring to the entire job or just the wet sanding process
@@SprayWayCustoms I meant the whole thing with and without filming time and nonsense
Was good fam I need a some tips I got 86 SS MONTE CARLO NEW TO PAINTING NEED SOME TIPS 🤜🏾🤛🏾
Ok...what you need to know
Great job bro .bro can u keep yo eyes and ears open for a 72 cutlass hood an front bumper. I'm building a cutlass vert that's the only parts I'm missing thanks keep up the great work
Sure will. I'll keep an eye out for you
You should try using a longer block on a big hood like that.. Also acrylic instead of the duroblocks doesn't give and leaves a much flatter surface...
Thanks man
HEY WASSUP BRO, I'VE LEARNED A LOT FROM YOU, I KNOW YOU'RE BUSY ALL THE TIME BUT I NEED SOME TIPS ON MY 93 FORD BRONCO EDDIE BAUER, I'M REPLACING THE REAR QUARTER PANELS, INNER AND OUTER AND THEY ARE GIVING ME THE BLUES!!!
What you having problems with on the quarters?
Have a question I tried my first kandy job on my car but I got bunch of tiger strips and imperfections.. I sprayed silver base then red kandy I want to sand down to the base or should I sand down to primer and start all over ? What grit do you recommend
You can just sand it with 400 and re shoot
You are really nice wit this auto body and paint...I want to learn so I been studying how you do this.. appreciate the knowledge you put out... much respect..💯
Thank you Curtis 🤝
i've noticed that you always shake the guide coat spray can while you spray it. Is there a reason for that? It seems like that motion on the wrist is a little bi hard to do. Would it come out different if you shake the can really good before spraying and then just spray it without shaking it? THX
It's a habit to keep the can moving because sometimes spray cans will start spraying crazy and shoot more in one spot than the other
Wats up boss. I been trying to get in contact I been sending emails. I know you probably booked up. I just want to talk business. Thanks boss.
How can I help you?
Wow, the fun never stops. Stay on top brother!
Thanks man
That is the way I learned how to do the thing! Hands on and like you said if you don't have money and want nice things you just have to for yersif if you want nice things no else will! It's dog ,dog world! So thank you sir magic man!
You're correct Terry. Thanks
Thank you for sharing your skills as always! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✊🏾
Thanks for watching Kevin
Man Home Depot raising the price on that crappy spray paint pissed me off. I painted my monte with it before I started doing my frame off cuz somebody sanded it to bare metat and left it. Cost me like 20$ to paint the whole car
Yep, it was 99 cents Kyle
I have repaired some dents and other areas from rocks and other things on the front t area of my brother n laws 2003 Toyota Sequoyah. My question is if I’ve only done the hood and the front bumper should I wet sand to try and make it blend with the rest or what do I suggest
That would be the route I would go
The advice towards the was sharper than you paint job felt it to the bones. SprAy way 🔥🔥🔥🔥💪
Appreciate you Jay Jay
Nice video as usual, keep up the good work 👍🏾
Thanks man
Thanks for sharing some knowledge.. Great video like always.
Thanks Pete
Spray Way, I learned a lot from your video's thanks for sharing your amazing my freind👍
Thanks Lloyd
I don’t think people realize all the steps and painstaking labour it takes to produce beautiful results!
I know wet sanding primer isn’t that exciting to watch for most but I’ve learned a ton from your videos and can’t wait to tackle some paint & body projects of my own!
I love those old Montes!
Great content as always! Keep up the great work!
Thank you Paul
What tip do you use when spraying 2k primer?? And what gun is your preference for primer and paint and clear?
Primer SATAjet 1000 B RP 1.8 tip
Coming together nice. This about to be another Sprayway masterpiece.
Much appreciated Family
You always on point! How to get busy on this wet sand and because! Thanks Bruh!
Any time bro
Thanks for posting. Something I'll be doing pretty soon Spray
Ok, thanks
Thats a straight to the point video, very easy to understand. I appreciate the knowledge shown and simple tips.
Great….thank you
I went to trade school, but you are right you can learn more on you tube. Ive learned a ton by watching your videos. School only gives you a piece of paper which means nothing when you go to an actual shop. That SS is gonna be nice. Keep them videos coming my brother. I got 66 Lincoln with the suicide doors it has alot of real estate to cover but you the man that can bring it back to life.
That's correct. Thanks man
That "piece of paper" is CREDIBILITY. Our people struggle with that. Formal training and education is a beautiful thing. TH-cam is Kool but you can't learn how to weld from videos. Classroom theory to practical application is the way to go. You wouldn't want a doctor trained on TH-cam videos would you?
Man TH-cam is putting a lot of people out of business LOL the shit that I've learned is phenomenal.
Yes...that's where all the thumbs down come from
Done to a T! It’s really starting to come together now but!!!
Great vid!!
Thanks Rob
How do I get on your appointment schedule? I'm in Florida
sprayway123@gmail
You definitely know what your doing everything always comes out great
Thanks again Antonio
I’m show going to try and fiber glass my dash lol 😂 I can just see me doing a terrible job
You got it man 👌
And I’m impressed with your music genre. A bit of everything.
Yes...I like a lot of stuff as long as it's good music
I am mainly self taught. I went to vo tech for automatics. Started spray bombing trucks and bondo dents with my dad at 15 from stuff his older brother and family, friends taught him. I took it higher working at circuit city installing car audio, working in mechanic shops and 8 years in a body shop with o rellies paint both which sucks because have to buy their product to basically pay for it. Frame machine is a lot of work in collision work. Autobody shop is how I seen specialty tools, networking to people. Fixing plastic bumpers heat up stud melt it in till its strong then grind the studs off apply filler, prime, block. I love autobody work it keeps my anxiety low because it's a constantly busy process from start to finish. I love you videos because it's not bland autobody its more exotic like rondo interior work, kandy paint which I never done. I taught myself to paint because shop never would teach me but tractor paint did. Then went onto single stage Neeson. Schools teach basics not exotics or hacks. Like ford Laredo guys broke torque bits. I schooled them by spraying pb nut blaster tighten it a little to remove or square body 4 hours they tired bolt mirror on it just turned so hack pilot hole bigger bolt fixed. They done bodywork for years the dad, son. Poor boy DIY shade day tricks work. Like people say dont use pepper in pin hole of radiator if someone's poor gotta be at work well it stops it. I know what I wrote may sound nutty but love seeing your videos. The way it's going may be on a TV show. One man army better than the 20 man crews with millionaire dollar shops and tools
I agree totally man. Thanks for the great story.
We all have a story how we get to where we are going lol. Sometimes it's through storms and trials but devotion and ambition can move mountains.
I learned alot from you never went to school just picked up a gun and started spraying
Thanks T
Man you impress ne more and more brotha with your skills my friend keep up the awesome and stay dedicated to what you do and love friends for life my brotha
Thanks again Niko G
Put me up on game 🎯 patience is everything good quality in yo work homie
Thanks BCD
Looks like alot of work but someone's gotta do it. It's going to look good when it's painted.
Yes indeed. Thanks Ryan
Hey top of it . I got a 1984 Chevy EL CO an I’ll like to sand it down to the Metal what I need to do that plz
80 grit
Awesome the peep work makes the job i have a question how do you heat your spray area my place is similiar to yours but i have no heat and was wondering how you do it
I just have a small plug in style radiator heater
how do you get your mettalics to come out so uniform seems when i lay down metallics its always looks blotchy and mottled
You're gun settings plays a big part
Always a great way to end a day with a Sprayway video
Thanks Jeff
Video was super helpful thank you in the middle of diy project now and will use this
Great!
Idc how many pages I make I always subscribe to you "sprayway" u keep it up Og
