@@randybeeman7823 the irony of the line "just say no", stems back to the reagan era when they rolled out the war on drugs but specifically targeted black communities during the crack epidemic. i'm a recovering addict so i understand the brutality of addiction. but the response to the opiod epidemic has been advocating for treatment centers and drug maintenance programs. the response to the crack epidemic was nancy saying "just say no", and rolling out long prison sentences for anything from drug trafficking to drug possession.
Funny thing is, even in those years people could have just as well point a finger at Weimar Republic, Imperial China, British Empire or Russian Empire. Drug crisis is a crisis and it HAD crumbled empires. But these people... nah, outside history doesn't exist. When Third Reich came to replace Weimar they retained the drug policy, but added a firm belief that "aryan man can't be addicted, only nonaryans can." As a result we got a drugged up nation hyped on by genocide and lead by addicts. _Coooool,_ right? Perhaps Dave should examine the "sleepy" people of Baltimore who consistently elect black, left-wing racists. His black bruthas and sistas have turned a once-great city into a huge dump. Last year there were 12 public high schools where there wasn't a single student proficient in math or English and another 10 that where the rate was below 20 percent. Fifty years of left-wing, racism. Bravo!
@emp5433 you are a typical white person that always try to changes the narrative or topic when shit is about white people. Dave doesn't need to talk about Baltimore or any other city. He chose his topic so listen to his joke then move on. Either you laugh or don't, but none of us can change the topic.
Heck yea. I was addicted to heroin 10 years (sober for 3 ❤). And dave can make a joke about the hardest things in life and make you end up laughing at that pain which, to me, is the ultimate in comedy. "Laughter is the best medicine". As for his current situation with the trans community, it's unfortunate. I thought The Closer was less (possibly, if you take yourself very seriously) "offensive" than Sticks and Stones but I guess I thought WRONG. I thought it was more of a joke on himself for being somewhat transphobic than on trans people. But hey, I'm not trans so I can't speak for their community. Just for what I felt the comedians intent was and I felt Dave has good will for the alphabet community under all his preconceived feelings about them before he met people like Daphne. Dave was funny to Daphne too...
@@Janellabelle the trans community needs to stop there gender appropriation and to stop trying to force bullshit lies on to other people. It's a bullsh-t excuse that "trans people can't take a joke because they've experienced so much hate." They don't want equal treatment (made fun of like everyone else,) they want special treatment. Every group on the planet has experienced hatred and violence. Equality means that everyone gets joked about in a comedian's set.
No, it's not if it's funny, it's if it's accurately informed. Your approach can be "non-PC" only if you have an intimate understanding of the content you're making a joke about. That's why Dave Chappelle is in a tier of his own

Nathaniel Baxter it’s just a comedy routine with vague truths in between punchlines. He isn’t giving a nuanced understanding just setting up jokes that play on stereotypes. The obvious reason the current crisis is treated with more urgency is because it’s the largest drug epidemic in American history. The reaction is proportional to the crisis. The reason the drug epidemic among blacks was treated with an emphasis on crime was because there was a huge concomitant rise in crime among blacks. There has been no such dramatic rise in crime among poor whites in the current crisis.
aj well if you ignore people steeling medications from family member. Then there’s no crime but if we account for the term; “Mind your meds” then I guess there has been a rise in crime. Just not counted because we don’t prosecute family! At least I didn’t! That’s the truth!

@chubbyurma A lot of his jokes are based on clever wording that makes you anticipate one ending, and then he gives you another. He also uses shock factor, but that doesn't negate the cleverness.
P.S.: if any time traveler want to become a hero and at the same time become rich, go and become a drug dealer in 1930 in Germany. Bonus points if you can get all nazi leaders to lethaly overdose or at least get them to vegetable state by 1937.

I guess the trans community has just faced so much hate that they cant take any joke...but I thought the only people society hates more than trans people would be addicts, especially "hard" drug addicts, and like I said this was funny to me.
