Always wanted a motor, but after hanging with you and Dustin and seeing them in action just made my decision easy! Now I’ve got the Torqeedo 1103 on my Bluesky Boatworks 360 Angler and couldn’t be happier! GREAT VIDEO Jameson! 👍👍
I’ve had a trolling motor on my kayak since 2014. I do lot of river fishing. I recently came to the conclusion that the motor setup is better for lakes and wider rivers without too many rapids and hair pin turns. For shallower, rocky rivers I bought a second kayak. Bare bones, lighter, shallower. No heavy motors, mounts, batteries. Just my own personal preference. Everyone has their own style.
For sure and every boat has a place! I have my inflatable kayak set up just that way for that reason. Light throw and go! Some of the bigger rivers I fish allow for the motor which helps me head up stream against the current…till I have to drag lol.
Hey! I actually am planning to do a review and comparison video of the Newport motor this spring. I will be honest and say I have not had a chance to spend a lot of time with one yet, but from a glance I am thinking the performance would be similar for speed. I like that the Torqeedo comes with the battery and it has built in accurate range and speed data.
It is pricy, but it has held up to everything I have thrown at it. I am planning to do some other motor reviews this year to really compare all the major offerings!
Heres a btr idea, just peddle and quit being a lazy butt. Kayaks dont need motors and all the added weight and expense is opposite of what a kayak does best
I get it. I still paddle a lot and have kayaks that I only paddle. That being said, many places I fish I have to go a long ways up river from where I can put in. With heavy current I would spend way less time fishing and way more time paddling. To be honest I didn’t get a kayak to kayak. I got one to fish so whatever I can do to get more cast in and maximize my fishing time, I am going to do it! Tight lines!

I preferred Marlboros when I smoked cigarettes.
Sick set up to bad that thing is 3000 cold hard American dollars

The 1103 is the Best Money I've spent Fishing related, PERIOD.

It was fishing good back in September but then got super low and clear.
