Its a really nice system. I installed one on a tupalo LT for a friend she really loves it. However, on a light narrow kayak it actually doesn't go slow enough to just keep the kayak still in wind and current for photography. Wush there was a way to change the speed variable settings. It does eat narrow grass to the point it will stop and beep at you. Overall great product. Nice review Jameson!
Good vid, man! I have considered this motor for my Kuda 126, but I think the price point is fairly high, to be honest. I already have a Newport Vessels 55lbs thrust kayak trolling motor as well with a DIY 100ah lithium battery box that only weighs about 14lbs. The issue is that I can't find any trolling motor mount options for the Kuda. Are you aware of any? I prefer a stern mount over a side mount... and I already have a jointed swivel extended tiller handle.
Thanks. I don’t know of any, but I think if you glued a couple of Yakattack Switch Pad bases on the back you could get creative. That is how my buddy Jeff Little did his Torqeedo mount.
I have the k-1 angler pro mounted to a versa rudder. It’s super hard to lift the motor since the rope is so low. Has anyone built anything to make it higher? So you have more leverage?
I guess it doesnt have spotlock.. also doesnt have variable speed (just speed steps).. to be able to fish id rather have a tiller with variable speed. (to be able to counter the wind). Also the third negative is the battery.. lifepo4 has become dirt cheap in the last 5 years.. i can make a 120ah 12v lithium battery for about 170 bucks.. that would offset the cost of a motor.. (also 120amp on 12v is like 2 times the battery the bixpy comes with). Could also make a 120amp 25v battery for about 300 bucks.. that would be about 4 times the battery the bixpy has.. (but instead they chare 4 times more for a quarter of the performance.. thats abit much for me). (same capacity would be about 120-150 bucks to make urself). My 400 dollar trolling motor has about 700 watt usage.. also pushes my boat a bit faster then 4mph.. in a 1236 loaded with 3 people and a dog.. A little kayak would go faster offc.. my range is also more then double.. also cost less then half.. THis might be decent for people who are not fishing. Any fisherman would rather save the 800 bucks on the motor and put that towards a sonar screen.. then ur just short another 1500 for the ducer..

Thanks!! I was pleasantly surprised at what it was capable of!
I would love to see a river trip on the inflatable with the Bixpy
I hope to try it out like that very soon!!

Not that I know of but I could see that being an issue for sure.
@@roadtripangler yeah it’s hard to get leverage. I’ll figure it out lol.
I think they're on the right track, now they just need to offer something more robust.
It would be cool to see a larger version!
