I live my Bonafide. It’s not that same one, but it has the same seat and similar boat design. The seat is the most comfortable seat on a kayak I’ve ever used. No backache or sore knees after a long day on the water.
Thanks! For sure. It is the right boat for the right situation! I think that is the cool thing about where we are with kayak fishing. So many options to fit different needs. In the old days, can’t believe I am saying that, we just put rod holders on whatever kayak and called it a fishing kayak. Now you can really be picky and dial in what fits you best!
Can’t wait for the roller bearing pedal steering to come out. Great thorough video. My pwr129 gets here on the 15th. Can’t wait. Got mine on sale for 15% off.
They are different for sure. I like how open the pursuit is and how the Nucanoe motor mount works better, but on the other hand if you plan to run more electronics the PWR is better with the rigging plates etc. my only draw back to the pursuit is that the water will creep in the tank well if you have it loaded with a motor and a crate full of tackle. I think the PWR is designed to handle more weight especially in the stern. I really wish I could change like three things on the pursuit and it would be my favorite kayak. I wish there was more volume in the stern, i wish the tank well slopped more toward the seat, and I wish it had some flare on the bow to deflect water in rough conditions. Don’t get me wrong, it is still awesome and I love how open it is.
Those are all solid options. If you plan to motorize, it would for sure be the PWR. I like how open the floor is without the drive. The Bite is awesome as well but would be more difficult to add the motor. If you were just going to keep it a pedal drive it would probably be the better option. I like the new belt drive and the way the lower unit kicks up without taking up more room in the deck. This is key when you’re shallow and wanting to stand and fish. Hopefully that helps. One more thing. I like to site fish, so I like motoring to my spots and then standing to fish which is why I personally like the PWR. Another great option to consider for motorization is the Nucanoe Pursuit.
I’ve never run wire or rigged a kayak. I’ll have to look at your past videos to see if you show a novice. I am curious how this kayak will perform in rough water.
I am posting a rigging video where I do a little rigging on this boat soon! I think it will do good in rough water, but have not had the opportunity to try it. I know several of the Bonafide team folks took it to Panama and took it offshore!
I am typically a catch and release angler, however when I do keep fish I go with a cooler bag on the bow! Easy and it comes off quick when I get to the truck!
Rubber seal breaking down before the kayak is even used!! Not a great way to the start of a video. If I’m spending $1999 plus accessories for a plastic mold. the quality has to be better in my opinion, even though it may be inexpensive to replace; why can’t they just fix the issue? What else have they “cheaped” out on?
I can say that I have had and used it for a while now and that is the only thing that has been an issue. I have still got no water in the boat and the only thing that happened was the glue reactivated when it was hot and became loose. This is common on even the most expensive 3m seals. I have some on my truck camper and have to replace them constantly because the glue just gets hot in the sun. Don’t know what they could do to improve this being they are the makers of the glue that doesn’t hold up.
That's not a kayak, that's just marketing BS! Once you hang a motor off it and you are using that as your primary means of propulsion what you are really in is an undersized thermoplastic mini boat being marketed as a kayak. That's reality and there is nothing wrong with that, but you are kidding yourself if you think this is kayak fishing because some marketer sold you on that silly notion. You bought a tiny thermoplastic mini boat, definitely NOT a kayak! LOL
Well technically, by definition, no sit on top “kayak” is a kayak. So I guess that really leaves it open to interpretation, but not sure how it being a kayak or a small boat would make it sell better one way or the other as far as marketing goes.
You're good at describing. Watched your whole video. Covered every aspect.
Thank you! I know it was a long video but there was a ton to cover!

They crushed it with the seat!
Great review
Gotta be committed and have the right water for that boat. What a tank.

I am interested in that steering as well! Thanks for watching. I think you will like the boat!
@@roadtripangler I’m excited. Got lucky found an xi3 salt for 1500 shipped brand new. It’s just sitting waiting on the PWR lol.
That was a deal! The salt is the way to go!
@@roadtripangler man. So update. No pwr129 yet because of the hurricane. Supposed to be here next week.
@@TexasPapa13waiting on mine as well ordered back in August
Nice review Jameson
Thanks!!
Nice one Jameson!
Thank you sir!
Since you just did a review of the Nucanoe Pursuit, how do you feel the Pursuit stacks up against the PWR 129?

Jameson what kayak would you recommend for fishing in the marsh? I’m looking at the PWR, Jackson Bite FD, and the Old Town Sportsman PDL 120.

One issue you did not mention--where do you put your catch??

Looks like a Kayak to me
