What a fabulous bike John, I've never ridden a Daytona (can't help thinking I'm missing a trick there) but as you know I'm a massive fan of the Street Triple so completely agree with you on the character of the engine - Triumph do know how to do triples too don't they....just a shame they didn't take the opportunity to maybe tweak that fairing style to make it a little bit different from the old Daytona shape, which let's face it, has been around for a long time....nice video as ever matey! Stay safe!!
This was fun to watch! Especially since it's the only riding I get to do in this COVID-19 world we live in at the moment. So I am living vicariously through you, Mr. Chop! LOL! I loved your enthusiasm as the ride went on. And I love this bike. I have always thought that the Gixxer 750 and now this bike are perfect street bikes. Strong, light and yet manageable. And in the case of the Daytona, that triple sound - pretty hard to beat. I love the triple. I ride a Trophy SE and that engine is wonderful. Simon, you are a lucky man! Great video, man.
Nice guys! My bike just arrived here in San Francisco... #10 of 765. But I'm hesitant to pull the trigger given everything going on here in CA with the corona virus. Anyway, the dealership is holding my bike for me in the meantime. Enjoy in good health!
Great video chopsy, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I really liked the Yellow XSR. I think a little chat with Simon on bike related things would be a great watch, keep it going and stay safe.🇬🇧🇬🇧.
Hi Mr Chops Enjoyed vid - it’s fair to say you liked the bike! Just been trying to break lock on shed door (senior moment must remember to take keys out before shutting door...) and vid was good distraction thank you! Look forward to next vid.
They are in United States, Ghost Ninja just got one, I watched his video this morning. He has the 007/765 number plate which is an awesome number to get!! Man, why did I not know about this bike earlier? This bike is gorgeous! A bit pricey but Triumph really gives you a shit ton for your money, especially compared to other bikes in this price range 👍🔥🔥
@@mrmuncheez374 oh that's great news, I guess hasn't reach in my state yet, I'm in contact with a couple of big triumph dealers, so waiting for that phonecall. Price is steep but a piece of history isn't cheap, for me it's either this or the V2.
@@mrmuncheez374 yeah man, theyre nice bikes no doubt, but this all carbon everything Triumph limited edition moto2 is just pure sex on two wheels. In the flesh the Triumph wins for sure, in my humble opinion.
I don’t think I’ve seen you that effusive for a long time 007. You lucky man getting to ride such a special bike. Was that Simon on his XSR900? He certainly is a triple fanatic! Stay safe big man and hope your mum is well.
Great review, been waiting for one on this puppy. I had one on order but cancelled it as I thought it was too close to my d675r 2015.... And for 10k more, the carbon bodywork, TFT screen, auto blipper and 20% more torque didn't cut it for me. As nice as it is, I am glad that I bought the s1000rr m sport...
cat stephenson your right really if I had a 15R I wouldn’t have bought it this thing is exceptionally brilliant but the fact that later 675R would have stopped me buying it! Says it all keep safe Si
Awesome to make the best version of this model that they can and it works as a tribute since they wont produce more, but personally i feel its lacking in looks for a 2020 bike...
Jealous! We can’t even go out unless you need to go to the store 😩 Those SuperCorsa tyres are really amazing, I’m changing my Roadtec1 tyres for the SCs as soon as possible 😁
They should have given it the Moto 2 bodywork if they are gonna call it the Moto 2 version. It’s an ok bike, just ok. Same price you can have a better bike in the panigale v2. It looks dated, sounds limp, and has a catalytic converter. Dash is nice, I’m not crazy about it at that price. You gotta be a triumph fan to get all excited about it I think
Is it only me or every bike Chops rides is an ULTIMATE bike!?! Just kidding hehe. The "problem" is that, in fact, he only drives dream machines ;) Keep it up.
So much fun that is! I have a question, and forgive me if you answered it elsewhere: you keep saying that you're 6'2" and the bike is still comfortable, but what's your inseam? I'm 6'2" as well with an inseam of 36", and I have steep requirements for seat height and knee angle for comfort: it limits me to adventure bikes pretty much which is fine by me, but sometimes I feel like riding something else 😉
This bike has potential to be a future classic and will cost much more than the s1000rr, but that’s just me hypothesizing. This bike is completely pointless unless you love the Daytona and triumph (which hot damn I do)
Lamb Chop Rides ok pal.. love your content as always though big fan man keep it up! Iv recently sold the bikes due to debt so following people like yourself in the uk makes me feel little less bitter about it. First time in many years I’m bike less so yer 🤟🙂
Hi all Simon the triple fanatic here just wanted to reply to some of the comments yes the D765 was a bit expensive but honestly it’s a study in balanced perfection there is no stand out feature! you may think that’s a negative but it means there is no element lagging behind. As for the style it’s the last Daytona it should look like a daytona, if it was a new model then sure update it but this was a short run and was made in the Uk sadly they just won’t sell enough because everyone thinks they need a litre bike (they almost certainly don’t) The Xsr is simply the most bike for the least money the engine responds so instantly it’s like a 2 stroke that never leaves the power band and suspension is an easy fix thanks for all the comments and don’t forget keep to the left on the way in to a right and stay out to the right on the way into a left simples
Fred Winter you should it’s the best bike for the money out there quick as a fixer up to 130 instant throttle it’s like a 2stroke except your always in the power band
Always loved the Daytonas, my previous bike was a 2013 Daytona 675. Tad strange though that they didn't go the MV800 way and added 12HP for the larger capacity bike. My bike also had 128HP stock, less torque though but not buy a huge margin.
Sunedosa there’s nothing wrong with the D675 if I’d had one I wouldn’t have bought it but I had a 2007 D675 and promised myself I’d have another never had an RC30 and when I rode the St765 and they announced moto 2 support I put my money down 4years ago for a D765
@@simonworley7783 I know, mine was the best sportbike i've ever had. But this 765 version doesn't make much sense, it feels halfassed, lazy and the value for money isn't really there. If you have a 13+ R you already have the chassi, similar Ohlins suspension and an engine with the same 128HP top end albeit with a smaller capacity and less torque. 95% or more of the bodypanels are identical, there's already carbon faring/bodywork available. They even use the same awful halogen headlights that was unusable shite 7 years ago and disgraceful on a bike this expensive. It feels like a Moto 2 cashgrab to me with too damn little effort spent. The bike is good ofc but it was this good in 2013 too, they could have done something really cool here but elected not to.
Spec wise, I naturally coose the old d675 over the d765. I mean just milling down the heads on the stock d675 makes miracles for making more poooowaaaa! But the new frame of the st3 765 is actually a bit better(agile) than the old d675 and I guess this means better than the d765 as well. well you dont need a super agile bike for trackdays compared to super twisty b-roads or something akin to gokart tracks/supermotard/supermot tracks.
It's a nice bike, but for that high price at least carbon wheels should be inklusive. And the look over all, is a bit to normal old fashioned. But just my opinion, of course it will ride gorgeous! Thx for the edit :)
As much as I love triumph, I have to say that this bike does not have a comfortable seating position. I’m 5’9 and when I sit on this bike, I am pitched so far forward due to the low handle bars (which are lower than the seat), that I really have to strain the back of my neck to keep my head up and level. That angle also puts a great deal of weight and pressure on my wrists. I think most people will be better off with the street or speed triple R/RS and simply adding a wind screen.
“ You don’t need more power then this on the road “ says the man that brought a H2 😂 😂😂🤪
Yes Im aware of how hypocritical this sounds haha, but thats how you know its true!! :-)
