The Best Budget Scooter for Adults? Segway Ninebot F2 Scooter Unboxing & Review

  • Today I segue from cars to a new Segway kickscooter which I purchased a few weeks ago. I was in need of a device to commute locally (mainly to assist when I have to pick up or drop cars off at various places) and so I decided on a Segway Ninebot F2 kickscooter. It seemed like a good deal for the money, and was even built to handle the full weight of an adult rider - up to 120kg. Is it any good? Let's find out.#motoringbox

    Just a note regarding the steeper hill I encountered - I've found the F2 will actually hold a steady 15km/h and complete the hill successfully without kicking, which is worth mentioning.

      It's perfectly safe to leave on charge, it has high quality battery cells and a smart BMS. No different to leaving a phone on charge which also has a lithium battery.
      What you've seen in thermal runaway on cheap battery packs from China made with no-name cells and cheap BMS or bypassed BMS.

    Unfortunately, this would be illegal here in NSW, unless you're here in Kogarah, or in Lake Macquarie, Armidale and Wollongong where they're trialing e-scooter usage. And even in the trial area you can only use the supplied Beam shared scheme scooters & you can only ride on the road. They're even geofenced so you can't use them outside of the trial area. Here's hoping they change the laws when the trial ends in January.

    Btw having your dominant foot at the front and your left foot at the back is called 'goofy stance' but it's whatever feels comfortable for you. If you put your left foot forward and have the right foot at the back with a bit of bend in your knees you might feel more comfortable hitting those bumps in the path.

  • @aslkdfjhg
    @aslkdfjhg หลายเดือนก่อน

    I've been commuting with an escooter now for a year and saved probably $2.5k in fuel and parking in the city. You'll see cities in a different dimension to a car.
    For drawbacks, you can't safely do hand signals (or even scratch your nose), and after an hour you'll get sore legs. Only get the big scooters if you have access to an elevator.
    Other than that even if you get rid of it after a couple of years, you haven't lost financially. An ebike is better and more relaxed in a lot of ways, but it's more $ up front. Maybe that'll be my next purchase.

    • @user-bp5py6bh3g

    The F2 Pro is pretty much the best scooter for daily use in an urban environment. You get code unlock, app compatibility, a bag hook for your grocery runs, a fork in the frame that serves as attachment point for a u-lock, and also turn signals placed on the handlebar. Even luxury scooters don't have all these options.
