      I personally havnt put the key into my cars engine since owning one they are so fun and get me to destinations quicker during traffic periods even though a 30kmh max speed I've done over 250miles and the fun factor hasn't faded. I would recommend to anyone who wants a vehicle rather than a toy. The only fear I have with this scooter is scratches as it's definitely something you take pride in.

    • @petar-boshnakov
      @petar-boshnakov 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Wandering Wombat I don’t think you realize how two wheeled vehicles work. These things are highly unstable with very steep rake angle - so anything above the set limit is quite dangerous - even reviewers say it all the time. If I want to go fast I will just get the right two wheeled tool for the job. 20-60 or even 100 km/h is not fast at all. The key point for these is portability and they excel in it.

    • @redwolfexr
      @redwolfexr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      speed of these is based on legal requirements. Almost all of them are going to max at 20mph. Faster and many states require you to have a license.

    • @redwolfexr
      @redwolfexr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Wandering Wombat they don't GAF.. until they DO.
      Which sucks if you were the one riding it. Then you sue the manufacturer for selling you a bike that was illegal.
      So they didn't sell you one that was.

    • @redwolfexr
      @redwolfexr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Wandering Wombat You need to step back, bro. The point was that it goes "moped speed" for a damn good reason. All you have to do is show that its speed is less than 20 on spec. Its legal in most states as is with no license.
      The OTHER CASE is that if they did NOT limit the speed and it went 50? Then when you get a ticket after they sold it to you as a "ride anywhere." You sue Ninebot and win.
      If you modify it or buy another brand that goes fast and get a ticket.. THEN you can take it to court. Good luck. Judge does not have to PROVE sh**... YOU DO. The cop is gonna stand there and say he clocked or lidared you at 40 or whatever. They do this for cars all day long.
      Cop and laser always win.

    Great review. Basically a refined Xaomi M365 Pro, with major manufacturing build quality and technology from Segway/Ninebot. The thing is a tank that is still relatively snappy. You feel like you are riding more of a vehicle than kids toy, but it is still fun to ride. Drive mode at 25 km/h max speed is perfect for urban areas. Sport mode is useful for hills and when you need to get in-front of bikes, sharing scooters, etc.

    I’ve had this scooter for about 6 months now and I agree, it is worth the money. The scooter is very well made and comfortable to ride. I’ve put almost 1000 miles on it and have had zero problems. I even accidentally sent it through an automatic car wash (in the bed of my truck) and the water had no adverse affect on the scooter. I dare anyone to try that with a less expensive competitor.

    My 2 cents......If Segway wants to take command of the scooter market. Add a manufacturing step that allows the owner to clip or bolt-on an optional lightweight outrigger assembly with # 2 free-wheeling 10-inch pneumatic wheels, seat /mount, and positionable/lockable handlebar stem. You then have a portable lightweight mobility scooter, golf caddy, etc This would allow you to change back to the scooter in a few minutes or less depending on the design and engineering of the mounting, etc. A simple suspension [outrigger 2 wheels ] would make it perform better than most stand-alone single-use mobility scooters that are too bulky, too heavy, and difficult to transport to the beach, park, golf club, etc.

      Buy it, especially G30P with its ~21mph max speed. This scooter is a tank. You can ride it in the city and avoid all the traffic jams and ride it basically for free. I live in Moscow, Russia, and everyone is using Xiaomi/Ninebot M365 scooters to get around the city. And Ninebot Max can definitely be used by people who want to use the scooter to get to work every day, because Moscow is huge and there are always traffic jams in the city during rush hours. Plus, for many people, taking a subway is simply not an option because some of the lines are too crowded in rush hours.
      Lots of range, practically zero maintenance required, and all components are of high quality, compared to many other scooters. It's a super reliable tool. The Moscow Transport have launched a scooter rental service recently, and the newer batch of scooters consists entirely of Ninebot Max scooters. It's worth every penny. And you don't need to have more than 30km/h of max speed in the city.

      XxKazxX XxxX it’s the perfect scooter. I get 21-16 miles out of full charge when in sport or drive mode. I weigh 240lbs so range is less than 40. Also the 40 mi range advertised is for riding in eco mode
      That’s no problem because even 21 miles is too far for comfort on a scooter. Most my trips are only 6 mi round trip.
      I still reach max speed of 18-19mph, it’s a sturdy scooter, no flats so far, no frame cracks, or any other failures. I have 300mikes on it as of September.
      I like the build and performance enough that I bought a Ninebot ES4 for my wife so we can ride together. It also has quality build with same attn to detail. Good luck to you in making the smartest scooter purchase.

      G. Casey how do you like the max compared to the es4

    • @GCasey
      @GCasey 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Calamity Max is better for me. I got the ES4 for my wife who weighs significantly less. She likes the light weight and portability of her ES4 but prefers my Max for comfort and stability, more of a cruiser feeling.
      I notice the difference too so it depends what you are looking for. If you’re looking for transportation on campus or a crowded market place an ES4 would be easier to collapse and carry at a subway, or carry upstairs.
      I can fit both ES4 and Max inside my SUV and our sedan. I’d rather carry ES4 upstairs as compared to the Max. I don’t live upstairs so the Max is perfect.
      Both are solid, feel tight and sturdy. If you are heavier, though, the Max would be more comfortable. The foot platform is wider and longer than ES4 so better for longer rides. For 2-3 miles one way trip this wouldn’t be an issue, but I’m only a size 11 foot

    People get this mainly for battery/range & slopes because laziness & it saves transport money. So the speed isn't the main issue if it goes pretty good already. You can get faster ones but that's when the range is a lot less, or it could be heavier unit & cannot move uphill that good (which is why people get it in the first place. So they don't have to ride bike or walk up hill. Down hill is always fine)
    I do have a friend that has e-scooter & non electric scooter but lucky for him, he lives on top of a hill area suburbs. So he just take either one scooter to go 70% of the way downhill to work. When he finish work, he'll catch a public transport back. So he saved travel money by half. e-scooter is good to go back up hill on the way home but the slopes make the e-scooter really slow. That's why we're looking for something like this

    The Ninebot Max is fun and probably the most modifiable scooter. They are tanks and just good as a primary scooter or as a second/backup scooter for when you get a dual motor scooter someday. If you own a Max or plan on buying one the following information is meant to point you in the right direction as you embark on your scooter journey if you plan on modding. It’s important to know who you are doing business with in the Ninebot Max “Mods” marketplace. We all work too hard for our money just to get ripped off by dishonest sellers. Scooters are a fun hobby so let’s not reward dishonest sellers who prey on enthusiastic new scooter owners. Do your research and only buy from credible retailers when it comes to critical components. Cheap accessories, lights, stickers, replacement tires, etc can be had for good prices from different retail sites. Below is my experience and I hope it steers you towards the best sellers when it comes to modifying your Ninebot Max.
    I bought my Max in Feb 2019, rode it for a while and was disappointed like many others about its poor performance in its stock form.
    I then hastily searched for mods and found a recommendation on an ESG video. They endorsed Carter Nordium of Nordbot Store which is now called Nordbot Shop. I ordered a front suspension and 36v range extender from him. At the time I didn’t know what I was getting into and he seemed legit at the time. His products were represented as high quality and unique to his company, boasting of using Sanyo or LG cells for his batteries. When I got the orders I quickly realized what had happened. He drop shilled both from China. I could tell this by the return address and very “Chinese-ey” packaging, lol. In his product description he wrote that it takes up to a month to receive batteries because it takes a while to make them. It was clear that it took that long only because it takes 30+ days to ship something from China.
    Anyway I started to search Alliexpress and found they sell the same exact products that I ordered from Nordbot for only 1/4 the price. When I asked about this on Nordbot’s fb page I was immediately blocked, lol. I figured him out and he did not want prospective customers to know. That would be bad for business.
    I since then discovered the only true Ninebot mods sellers/manufacturers, mymaxmods.com and Sharkset. If you are in the USA I know you have to order Sharkset products through mymaxmods (an authorized dealer).
    So I bought the whole shabang from mymaxmods and Sharkset which allowed me a 48v upgrade, better motor (fatmax), Sharkset suspension, new controller and a handlebar lift kit. You should get what you pay for and with mymaxmods and Sharkset you get just that as well as great customer support.
    I hope my experience saves the rest of you money, and also, be careful about believing endorsements from ESG as they are most likely paid endorsements. We all know how credible “paid” endorsements can be.
    It’s a fun hobby not just a “budget” so you will spend more money than is sometimes practical, but that’s how it goes with hobbies.
    Good luck guys/gals, be safe and watch out for predators trying to steal your hard earned money.

    You should try electric unicycle there so much fun. I would recommend Gotway MTen3 10 or the Gotway MCM5 14. The Gotway MCM5 14 is better offroad because the tire is bigger. Both are great

    I looked at getting scooter awhile back, but couldn’t justify that price. The range is cool, but the top speed and weight don’t do it for me. I can get a cheaper scooter, with almost the same range and lighter for a few hundred dollars less. If you have any plans in the future to review the levy scooters, I’m definitely interested in them. The levy plus is a bit cheaper, a bit slimmer. I wonder how it would compare.

    I love the handle bar height. It is tall enough to go by garbage cans and not get knocked over. My other scooter the urban drift s006 electric was alot lower and made it hard on sidewalks during trash day.
