    The best feature of the RT-P is that they have a fan fitted to the oil cooler which really helps.

      Good addition! I forgot to add it to the video. Also factory crash bars!

    I just picked up a 2016 R1200RT Aussie Police bike. Our cops must be pampered because it comes with cruise, hillstart, lower gearing, second battery, 3 ride modes, dynamic pack, tyre monitoring, heat grips and seat. The bodywork is also pristine. No scratches or dents, almost like new...all this for $5900AU or 3752EURO

    • @droommotor
      @droommotor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that is quite the difference with the bikes here in Europe. Those are not outfitted with cruise control. They do have a second battery, lower gearing, TPMS and heated grips. Thanks for your comment!

      Unfortunately the second battery is wired to serve the emergency lights that are normally removed along with that battery when a department sells them.

      @@hawaiibikekahuna8204 Not here in Aus, they all come with the second battery. The radios, emergency lights and siren are removed, that is pretty much it.

    In Hawaii we have horrible traffic and some wide shoulders. I wear the police helmet, use the emergency lights in amber and ride right down the shoulder the same as the police do. I am a former motor officer and cars give you a wide berth. The difference? In a car it takes me an hour and twenty minutes in a car, 25 minutes on the bike.

    i'm riding with a 2016RT-P Love the bike and never had the feeling it's big or heavy.
    Love the Goverment version, because it's a work bike.

    • @droommotor
      @droommotor  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it handles its weight very well Unless you maneuver it in the garage. But while riding it's feels lighter than it is! I agree, there is something special about that version I think, still very happy with it!

    Don't forget to replace the Hall sensor, it's expensive at 300€, but if it fails you're stranded right away, no second change. no limb home mode. it's death right away.
    It's not the sensor itself that fails, but the cabling on that module.

    • @droommotor
      @droommotor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know! Thanks for the tip!!

    • @AnalogDude_

      @@droommotor ... and if it's an old one, you might wanna check the inside of the fuel tank as wel, there are several hoses (water drain from the filler cap, air vent) in there, some are custom made hoses and can't be replaced with anything else than original unless you have a pipe bender, pretty expensive too for their length. a dirty fuel filter will strain the fuel pump and that's more than 250€ to replace.
      You also might wanna clean the fuel injectors with carburetor cleaner, some video's on TH-cam on how to.

    • @AnalogDude_
      @AnalogDude_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@droommotor search for: oilhead_hall_sensors.pdf.
      a how to fix that sensor, more websites host this document, but some try to fool you and make you sign up, keep looking.
      it even seams if it's raining very hard, water can reach this (if it's "bad" state) and let you down, until it dries up.

      @@AnalogDude_ You are a life saver!

    • @AnalogDude_
      @AnalogDude_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@droommotor Well, i toughed since yours was used professionally, it would have a hose to fill up every second or third day or so. so i think it would be very wise to change the filter and while your at it to change the other hoses inside.
      You also need a new seal, a large rubber ring (4€)
      that whole assembly, fuel pump and fuel gauge / level indicator / mounting plate is VERY expensive. some 600€
      not sure if you have enough room in the tank to bend a "stainless" steel pipe in a u shape and use double hose clamps to safe on BMW's custom hose, it's very little and like 30€+
      As for the HAL sensor, you need to remove the front cover of the engine, remove the pulley and inspect the state of the wires.
      if you a bit handy in electronics, you can build your self a device with a transistor, resistor and a LED to set the timing correct if you need to replace it, follow the schematic in the document.
