The bike for everyone? Kawasaki Z900RS review
Hi, can I ask where you got your rear view mirrors from please Cheers
How many kms did you put on the 890?
Are you sure those are catalytic converters on the pipes or are they only expansion chambers? Increased displacement begs for pipes fatter than normal 650 upgrade exhaust.
Why would anyone take advice from you, you're not satisfied with your choices, and you waste loads of money on unnecessary bolt-on parts? How many kms did you do on the 890?
I'm not giving advice to anyone? I'm just sharing my reason why i've parted with my 890. And said what I would do. btw who says I waste money on bolt on parts?
@@droommotor I say you waste money on bolt-on parts, after listening to what you've said. You don't need them and you loose money on them. You did moan about the depreciation.
@@RedRupert64 I don't spend a lot on my bolt on part fortunately :)
@@droommotor That'll be because you were either given them, or get a discount, which is sponsorship (or bribery), which means there's little point in us believing what you have to say about them. The lack of positive thumbs for your videos proves my point. What you say is just rubbish, and for cats. How many kms did you do on the 890?
@@RedRupert64 I can smell some jealousy in the air 🤣
I rode a 1300 GS Adventure. It looks amazing, like a powerful, modern, unique machine.
and now there's a special edition coming out, with blingy paint job. Limited edition. I might actually prefer the V85TT. It's more 'off-roady' though don't know why. Not much lighter. Same wheel sizes. Maybe it's just the high front fender, lol. Suspension travel is the same. I think.
Really like the new colour scheme. I do think the V85TT is a little bit more rugged.
Nice footage😎
Thanks ✌
There is a gap between outer covers of the bike. In heavy rain probably water is going to enter to the air intake. You would test this with water hose and open the filter to look for water?
I have a friend who has the same setup, rides offroad and in the rain a lot. Absolutely no issues.
Question: Do you like the embedded subtitles? Or leave it out next time?
Who cares...click bait crap
If you don't care, why bother to comment? It is not really clickbait right? because it's why I sold my KTM
I’ve been riding bikes since 1977 and not once have I ever thought ‘hmmm I need strobe lights’😂😂😂😂
''Need'' is a big word in this case. But it definitely helps in this traffic!
Handy when riding into London. Pricks don't use there mirrors when changing lanes
One of the most expensive bikes on the market. And you "need" to add gigantic, mega expensive lights on it. Amazing.
Dont “need” but its a Nice upgrade to do
Great review. Thanks. How is the headlight at night?
Absolutely fine! But have to say the roads are very well lit in the Netherlands.
Well £20000 + and lights have to be added! This is why motorcycles don’t sell in great numbers!
''Have'' It is a good upgrade! But you can do without!
Hi, What brand of engine bars have you fitted to your bike please?
Motea! But Will be installing Lone Rider soon
@ thank you, they look really good in black, hope the Lone Rider ones are black also.
They do fit quite well on the Mega R1300GS Tank vehicle. Not sure if they would fit as nice on my MSX125 compared to your bike. 🤔
That will be a little overkill
Do you use a chest mount or helmet chin mount?
Helmet mount from Gomoto Mounts. You can check them out. I also have a discount code Droommotor
It's kind of funny.I've already bought the motorcycle but I will only pick it up on January 3rd. Never ride it, I have no clue about the motorcycle. The reason I bought it was because when the original Z1 came out in 73 I rode it and I loved it. The bike loked huge, the colours where amazing, the shape of the tank it was different from most bikes. Thru these years I had many bikes, specialy sport bikes but now I'm done with sport bikes and the Z900rs SE felt special to me because of very old memories. BTW I was 14 in 1973 :)
Thanks for your wonderful comment! Safe rides!
Love this bike! Maybe next year? 🤔🤞 Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🎁
Happy New year!
Hello, I have a question. For greater safety, would you protect both brakes or just one?
One is more than enough!
Two months ago I installed a Roadlock on my R1250gsa. I have mixed feelings about the Lock. Sure it is handy that you just have a single pin in your pocket. On the other hand you have to move the bike a bit after putting the locking pin in. Also sometimes it is very hard to get the pin out (yes i used the right spacers), you have to pull very very hard.
Never got that issue! Only with a lot of sand and dirt. Maybe good to contact roadloK!
Terrible decision. The financial issue only means dealerships will have less to sell and therfore will mark them up in the years to come, Yamaha makes instruments, Kawasaki makes trains, Honda makes everything... KTM only makes bikes, period..and bikes just aren't selling across the entire industry... KTM makes an incredible product, and when they become harder to purchase as a direct correlation to their financial woes, that will solve the "depreciation" issue
I have not Sold it based on the financial issues they have. Thanks for your comment!
Chef, waar is die video van die aux verlichting gebleven? Had hem vanochtend in m’n playlist gezet. Zit nu op de plee, en heel die video is spoorloos…🙃
@@2wheels1guy25 goede!! Ik gooi hem volgende week weer online! Had een foutje gevonden die me zwaar irriteerde….

Buy Japanese ❤❤❤
Always good but a little bit boring most of the times
@droommotor boring it's to have the fancy bike on the shop floor all the time !
@@NoTengoIlusiones Had no issues with my KTM :)
@@droommotor glad for you. Many miles ?
@@NoTengoIlusiones Not at all! Around 2k in one year of ownership. But know a lot of people with no issues at all.
Dam doommotor is the right name for you fella , and you’ve bought another ktm
Hahaha
No camshaft problems after 2021, KTM is not going anywhere and all companies have faced financial problems
It's not true, there are several which I know off who has excessive wear, but I do agree regarding the financial problems.
Not going anywhere could simply mean they failed, collapsed financially and someone else bought the company. If you mean they will pull themselves out of the mess, that remains to be seen. Regarding issues after 2021, is not true I heard of issues with newer bikes. Logical conclusion is their current practices have not changed significantly enough that caused problems prior to 2021.
@@terrarecon they are going to be an Indian or chinese sticker. K(aput) T M as we know it. Go Japanese 😍
@@NoTengoIlusiones Totally on board with Japanese. No arguments.
Not many camshafts have failed from 2021 because those bikes haven't covered enough kms yet. My 2021 has over 40k Kms on it. The cams work alright and don't make unusual noise, but their surfaces look bad.
Bro, you still haven't parted ways with the KTM 890.
I did actually
What bar end mirror you have installed?
Those were from PUIG.
Bought a 1290 sas 2023 , never going to buy KTM ever again, abs pump issue causing panic brake randomly, started to have coolant lost 250ml in 4 days and counting , paint peeling everywhere on the clutch bracket and reservoir , battery drain issue , between 50-80km the steering will wobble uncontrollably , if you let go and will also go right instead of straight. There was also a chemical / electrical smell when starting in the garage , the wireless key even in the bike compartment kept being out of range . KTM dealer said everything was "normal" . The adaptive cruise control took them a month to fix . I traded it and never looking back , lost thousands but that was better then keeping it. Dangerous bike. Believe everything you see in forums about KTM , it’s not exaggerated. Extremely unreliable!
Sounds dangerous! My 890 was free of issues fortunately.
I bought a 1290 SAS in 2022, which now has >20‘000km. This year there was only 1 issue: at a red light in Cannes the engine turned off on a very hot day. So I turned it on again. That’s it. Nothing else. Thank God.
You did the right thing. Find someone else to take on the risk of owning a brand that trashes customers with known problems, a dealer network on life support, and a product thats reliable for months not years. Kevin Cameron, Technical Director of Cycle World and a doyen of motorcycling engineering, has a word for these brands of bikes. He calls them 50 mile bikes for good reason. There are only three companies that stand by their products and give you reliability, dealers and spares, anywhere in the world. They are Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki. End of story.
Thank you, but I got a 690 instead. And also own BMW and Harley Davidson.
If you a serious off road rider but you can afford one bike then ok 690 but if you can afford 2 : 500 & 890 Simple 👍 Also spend less on parts and get out & ride
I like the modding thing. I can afford more but choose to have a BMW R1300GS and a Harley Davidson next to the 690.
@ no offense but you are not an offroad person
@@mototrailzI don't aim to be an ''offroad'' person.
You should have done what I did and get a KTM 500, the 690 also has allot of known issues.
Could be, the issues are not a problem for me.
Did the opposite, traded my white 690 (701) for an 890. It was the right move for my needs. Love my 890. Please make a video about 690 vs 890 when you have some morecexperience with the 690.
I can imagine! I will try to make a comparison.
Langweilig.... Zeitverschwendung
Hopefully you got a good sleep out of it.
Don’t worry, you’re not the only one to be crazy buying and selling bikes all the time.... my average keeping bike time is roughly like you 😉
Haha thank you Christian!
Also sold my 890 adv. R, which I miss a lot, and switched to a 690 adv. R. There is still no other brand out there, IMO, which builds bikes that simply go like stink.
I agree!
Glad you stayed with the brand
"My KTM 890 Adventure does not have issues so there are no problems existing in the world with KTM at all" 🤡
Nicely explained dude
I just got mine, exact model, one month ago. My other bike is a Triumph tiger 1200. So I knew right away I was going to be downgraded from the technical and power stand point of view in exchange for a bike that brings something different to the table: personality, different riding experience and a story to tell to all the friendly clueless onlookers and enthusiasts who would approach me asking me what ithis motorcycle is. 1 1/2 thousand miles from this moment I can’t be happier for this is exactly how it’s going so far. I wanted to see how the Guzzi experience was and… I’m very excited to say i am a proud “Guzzista”. So, air-cooled engine, 80ish HP, and no electronic suspension are NOT the specs trendy motorcyclist nowadays look for nor what manufacturers advertise for the modern Adv market. This bike’s realm is in the low to mid range (RPM redline is at about 7.3 K I believe) and there you will find plenty of power to be a regular rider doing regular things. Don’t get me wrong there are few perks that are included such as a cruise control, fog lights, center stand, tall screen (not tall enough Ihad to buy an extension), ride by wire, good front brakes (normal in the back) no noise muffle, nice hard cases included. I suited it with the OEM heated grips which they don’t come with and with this I can travel very comfortable all day (already done 2 400-mile days) It is fully equipped with the “quirk” feature no other bike has, I’ll tell you that much. People will love it or will hate it, very polarizing as are the looks. This bike is not for everyone and I recommend to anyone that’s going to buy one to see it and try it first, specially if you live in the US. Guzzi is not a mainstream Brand and this market does not understand brand very well. (This makes the bike to be very accesible at the secondary market at very low mileage and incredible prices, if you are in the US just look for them a cycle trader) The bike is VERY EASY AND VERY steady. Suspension is very good (adjustable) and bike is very steady. The Dunlop tires it came with are very low pressure tolerant (this was very surprising to me) and tend to lose air so I bought the TPMS that connects to the phone which are perfect. The VTT Travel brings all of the perks already included, I’d go for that I you were looking to travel. I got this one because I love the Special edition narrative. If you love riding a bike that gives you a vintage trip to the past but in the present, and have a personality, this is you conduit for both. Thanks for the review Droommotor. I bought this bike for life (57 Y/O) and I am absolutely loving the experience. I will do 2 up with my wife very soon and I will update you.
And thank you for your wonderful comment! Could not agree more and can't wait to add a Guzzi to my collection again.
That’s actually pretty on course with Ducati Transparency here in the states. My blog is down but I went into detail on how it works. I’ve got a basic overview on TH-cam about it if you’re bored give it a search.
Good!
Klr650 is the tracter
Yeah I agree!
Great bike but not for pillion. Loved my MT but also my wife. Had an FJR for a while after, loved it too now getting GSXS1000GX. Good review.
Thank you Rodney!
I have the DX with frame protection and also a KTM 790 Rally and a 890 Rally. Guess which one I choose almost everytime: the DX. (I do mostly dirt. Obviously) Different strokes for different okes. The KTMs are great for slower more technical terrain, but a 690 would do even better there. The DX is more balanced. Also much better in deeper sand and mud. The DX just needs a better suspension which I find surprising that it wasn’t mentioned if you’re really doing rough and technical? I did a suspension upgrade (Tractive) anyway. My 2c
Hi Fred, I agree! I do talk about the suspension in this video, I have upgraded mine for really good suspension th-cam.com/video/99l6mLx3iLU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AOZuo0ncamIfLGay
Oil leakage “normal” for a Moto Guzzi ?! What age are you talking about mate. One minor observation: Please do use some more space on/of the road, so drive a little bit more (2/3j to the left of your lane.
thank you!
Riding and restored bikes for many, many years and the MT-01 has been on my list since it came out in 1999. Other bikes got into my possession until 2023 when I got my 2006 MT-01 and it did not disappoint. Though I would stay with the stock mufflers but I have a set of Dominator set coming in the mail for the 2025 season. Can’t wait.
It is an awesome machine indeed! Thank you.
Taking of the orange sticker is the first think to do.
I really liked the sticker!
She was angry. because you did speak English. and going for the cheese. how dare you !!! 😅😂🤣
Ps: Look up SWM Stormbreaker V1200. 9990€ new here in Germany 😀
hahaha
I was torn between the stelvio and mandello, went for the mandello in the end, but I do keep thinking about the stelvio
The Mandello is better looking, but I think the stelvio is a better ride!
