Nothing like a kitchen full of 2.0L blocks and heads .. wow interesting.. I haven’t thought about that oil HX since I started watching your channel.. and that same HX is where your favorite plastic union from the water pump connects.. excellent video of that heat exchanger... 👍🏻

@@NaptownTuner bro, I've been watching/commenting on your videos for a while. You got crazy potential, keep it up! 💯...the funny part of me watching your videos is that I don't even have my A4 anymore( because of the piston ring issue) but I love the education on the mechanics! I debating on trying to fix it myself but it was really out of my league.
      Keep rocking! I'll be watching!

LOL... there's always one guy in the comments, who finds it necessary to point out that the correct name for an oil cooler is a heat exchanger. Yes... heat is exchanged, yes... some manufacturers call them heat exchangers... but guess what!!?? VW & Audi call them "oil coolers"!!! Why? Uuuh... because it's main job is to cool the oil (once the engine is at operating temperature)l!!??

Hola hermano. ?

I honestly think this might be happening to me with the oil cooler. Ive had coolant mixing with oil. Its a very small amount mixing. I replaced the oil filter housing assembly thinking it was mixing there but im still getting it so im gonna try the oil cooler.

the VW/Audi oil coolang interphase is extremely redundant and prone to failure resulting in a coolant/oil mixture. I actually did a bypass whereby there was no longer oil/coolant interphase.

I dont have oil mixed with coolant inside the engine, at least the oil cap and dipstick shows that. But my exhaust drips a bit of water, I replaced the oil filter housing but it kept mixing those two things, the thing that I want to ask is if this type of failure (the oil cooler) can make the coolant find it ways to the exhaust.
So if that is impossible how is that I dont have the mix happening inside the engine too. Its a VW Passat 5 cyl 2.5l.

I have to add that we tried to flush the system after replacing the oil filter housing but it kept mixing the water

bro i love you.. so if i have a 2.5l with 148psi conpressoon all cyclinders, but what looks like the scum layer in my coolant ball and recemt;y have oil pressure issues.. should i be looking at the oil ffilter housing and oil cooler instead of oil pump, cause so far everything ive looked into has turned out b be fine no issue, pulled oil pan and no coolant everythinng looks fine. oil poump pick up looks good. no blockage. i was about to pull oil pump and was looking for info on it. when i saw this video. also the bottom of motor is dirty, oil covered. would you bee thinking oil pump or filter housing..? i tried testing for oil pressure at switch lkocation and nothing., didnt read at all.. i also noticed that theres is not one video on here about oil pump replacement.. which started me thinking that maybe there not problems if no one has made a video replacing it.. what do you think?

No need to mess with oil coolers on these cars unless you’re maybe running a big turbo in The desert or something. The oil actually needs to be hot enough to burn the water / condensation out and such. I’d have a oil temp gauge before messing with that. www.hotrod.com/articles/engine-oil-temperature/

Just had an idea. I recall you saying cam carriers/valve covers must go with their heads, but if you take a random valve cover and put it with a random head and have them machined together, would it be the equivelant or are they completely "married" to eachother?

Hi mate, I have the Audi rs38p and the coolant has oil in it and there is brown sludge overflowing from the coolant expansion tank the oil in the engine looks fine and the engine runs fine good compressor but the dsg gearbox is not endangering gears correctly there are couple of faults on the gearbox. Oil has been leaking not sure from were. Do you know how I could check how and what oil is leaking dsg or engine into coolant thanks for any help

Hey man im getting ready to reseal my 4.2fsi timing covers (leaking oil) and i cant find the part no. For the 2 orings you mentioned at the end of your video. The coolant crossover tubes. Id need 4 of them. Its been very frustrating figuring out part numbers for gaskets and orings etc on this Q7. Do you possibly know the name of these coolant tubes so i can find the correct orings? Or even the parts no. Themselves? Thanks
