      Hey bro i changed the water pump on my a4 b8 2.0t quattro and flushed everything, put new coolant in and i changed my cooling fan control module, now its all back together and my radiator stays cool even after running awhile, i got blazing hot heat inside the cab i just think its not circulating through the radiator? Is that make sense? I need some help and not the dealers, i used the oem radiator filll kit that uses the air compressor to create a vacuum to fill the system, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Still using these videos Naptown! My son and I changed his entire engine on his 2009 with your videos. I'm not a mecanic, I'm in software, but learned so much from you. Thank you once again for the tips and tricks.

    I changed the original water pump on my 2013 VW 2.0 TSI CC. I watched your videos. The VW was a little trickier than the Audi. The hardest thing was getting the charge pipe off of the throttle body and removing the throttle body bolts. There are two Copland lines that come from the passenger side of the engine remove those first, it gives more access to the throttle body bolts. I used the Graf aluminum water pump. Seems to have stopped the leak. Thanks for your videos they are very useful and entertaining.

      so question was your coolant temp sensor on the waterpump or was it in a different place. I have a 2011 audi a5 with some a4 parts installed and im thinking its my coolant temp sensor thats causing my radiator fans not to spin when the ac is on. its either that or the fan motors died out. I already replaced the 60a fuse in the centeral terminal checked the fuses in the panels and replace the fan control module and still nothing.

    This video was very helpful when I did the water pump 8 months ago but now I’m having issues with the coolant temp sensor not operating.. temp on gauge won’t read and fan always on. I replaced the temp sensor and everything was fine until the next day after a 90 mile drive it failed again and back to the same symptoms.. can it be that the temp sensor from o’reillys auto parts suck?

    I was actually hoping you would show the removal of the temperature sensor. I am having a fan problem that does not come on it starts to come on but does not actually come on it spins around a couple times and then stops if I apply current directly the fan runs fine. So I need to replace the temperature sensor preferably without pulling the whole pump out and the intake and pulling the engine out and so on and so forth that means I have to know exactly how it becomes disconnected and pops out

    Hi, I am currently working on a 2011 audi a5 that has overheating issue. I took apart the water pump to inspect and noticed the balance shaft that drives the belt for the pump is not moving. Basically the pump is fine, but that shaft does not turn when the engine turns over. Any idea what part I need to replace to fix this? Thanks.

    Exactly what I needed to see my 2.0 is setting a cooling performance code, so I figure I need to replace that whole module since the t-stat is in there. Do you have a opinion on the upgraded aluminum water pump modules? I am not so sure I could l do that with the intake still bolted up though. Maybe I will look into taking it off and doing some carbon cleaning.

    • @NaptownTuner
      @NaptownTuner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thomas Hoyt here is the intake video, th-cam.com/video/kR8zLHJVrNY/w-d-xo.html
      valve cleaning helps but I don’t typically do it unless there is an issue. Only needed to do it like 10 times in 9 years on this engine but I prefer to just do a rebuilt cylinder head on a car I plan to keep. No experience with the aluminum water pump someone had a cast-iron water pump and it didn’t fit right had to replace it. In this video when I show the other engine with the balance shafts look at that water pump.. there is a aluminum piece in the updated water pump and it looks like that.

    • @NaptownTuner
      @NaptownTuner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s why I save old wire harnesses, I don’t know for sure if it matters but I’d put it back the way it was. Sometimes you can take the plug apart and find enough evidence of the old wires to put it back together

    • @jefffitzpatrick9298

      The wires pulled right out of the plug so there was nothing to go by, I replaced the water pump and now a few seconds after starting the car both fans turn on full force. I went by your video and it was a great help, I dint replace the coolant temp sensor and tried wiring both ways and fans still run full speed. Nothing was wrong except for a leak prior to replacing. I appreciate what you do and your videos, best ones out there that I’ve found. Thank you, somehow I’ll figure it out on my own.
