1000 Cybertrucks in a week vs. 1000 EV pickups in a quarter. I had to pause the video there and let one soak in, WOW! Time to stick a fork in GM and Ford, they're done.
Ford's Lightning is still far out-selling Cybertruck but they have a huge headstart. I'm sure Cyber will be winning by end of year.
The CTs are entirely sold out until later 2025.

Elon’s obsession with weight and cost optimization in every part of the car or rocket is legendary. This is how SpaceX can make a rocket at a fraction of the cost of other aerospace companies. The same principle is applied to making cars, and we have now best selling models 3 and Y.

As far as SpaceX goes, it’s reusability that makes the biggest difference cost wise.

The fact that they are able to use existing lines for the production might explain why they have been so hesitant building new factories
That could be a factor but I think it is more PTSD for Elon from "production hell," and concerns about the global economy. They just felt the need to be more conservative. That set them back, so this is a brilliant interim move to grow volume quickly and with low cap-ex, which they are focusing on adding compute.

I'm a long term investor, but think Elon may have gamed the system in announcing lower cost models sooner than expected. Analysts are thinking $25,000 car, but Elon may have been referencing the cheaper models of Cyber truck that WOULD utilize existing assembly lines and is also ramping up production volume. But I hope the $25k car is also coming sooner than end of 2025. Peace

Images of the ride hailing app contained an Easter Egg, preliminary information about Robotaxi/CyberCab design, showing seating capacity for 4, presumably adults.
It showed a Model Y, no?
TSLA $ took off like a rocket. Great, instead of being DOWN 45% I'm only down 40%
V12 is amazing. Yes it make a few small mistakes! I look at the things it does exceedingly well, there are far more great things it does than the few mistakes. I do agree almost there!

Wallstreet shouldn't be able to buy after hours. It not in line with a free market system
I hear you. You can get agents in stock markets in other parts of the world to buy on your behalf. Research that.
However there is no such thing as a "free" market. The rich insiders get special access to buy special offerings that no one else even gets access to. The rich pay for trading machines, short run data lines, and software that can automate trades in fractions of a second; beating out anyone else. Etc Etc.
It won't ever change and has always been that way from the commodity markets of Rome where only the rich could get in on a deal because the seller wanted to ingratiate themselves with them.
Your only ace is your research and smarts in identifying a long term deal and buying in early, then hold for years.

People with power like to stay in power and always rig the game for their benefit. Helps that they already usually own the trading company etc.

The Robotaxi needs to charge for the ride, not per person. For example, if my daughter and two or three of her friends want to go to the library, and the Robotaxi charges each passenger for the 6 mile ride instead of the "hailiing" and the 6 mile ride. That could cause slow uptake of Robotaxi.
The intermediate vehicles are a quick and dirty exercise to get a much needed, refresh of the lineup to spur sales, buying Tesla time and breathing room to work out the Unboxed Production Method processes.

I was expecting a great call! Look at my comments here and on x from previous days... The people quitting meant they were ready to ramp the next Gen vehicle... I knew battery cells have been low price so stationary would be doing great... Just listen to what Tesla and Elon says and take it as a whole, do not forget what happened a week or two ago... I just disregard the propaganda and take all the info into account from over time, it is easy to follow what Tesla are doing since they talk so much and are tracked by so many people... Just gotta disregard the BS thoroughly.
If you listen to the right sources, there was very little surprise in the call. For me the only one was introducing more cars before the unboxed process. The community even go the Cybertruck production numbers right.
Seems like Elon got a good nights sleep, ate his Wheaties, and was FINALLY prepared to deliver a decent earnings call despite the headwinds!

Like buying a inkjet printer, shortage EV skilled labor and parts cause insurance premiums skyrocketing.
Its been a difficult 2 years for us long term guys, but how long can the fud last now? People have to see which way the wind is blowing eventually

Great video. One thing I'm not clear about. How can Tesla license FSD software to EV manufacturers who are currently using LIDAR and radar. Wouldn't they have to completely change their hardware over to FSD compatible cameras at similar locations to the vehicles made by Tesla. That seems very expensive; not the cameras but the cabling and the PC board electronics along with the body redesign.
Still, it would make car cheaper as competing, inferior systems with lidar make car more expensive.
Buying "Lower Priced Cells" from outside suppliers, could allow a basic Price drop across the Lineup, like just happened!
Adding Sodium Ion Cells, might allow a Lower Cost Product "Underneath " the Lithium Iron Phosphate versions!
All these, plus "Some" of the "*Unboxed" approach, and lower Entry Prices, by 10% to 25%-30% before end of 2024!
Is anyone comparing "Cybertruck Ramp" to the 2012 "Model S Ramp?" Or any other Teska Models? That would be an interesting Chart! As would compared to Pickups from Ford, Rivian, GM, etc!
I think the reason they are building a separate semi truck production building might be due to security. Maybe they don't want Panasonic people in there?
I could be wrong but it might be that semi-production is done a lot differently than the cars. I suspect the semi fabrication will be much less automated than normal, for Tesla. The volumes will be lower and I don't believe semi making is as conducive to automation (e.g., the semi will have a ladder frame). But, Tesla being Tesla, automation might increase significantly.

All things "anounced" at the Tesla quarterly report were known before th call. The affordable car was never cancelled as it is a twin of the robotaxy (platform wise). Tesla in the past anounce their plans for the AI and the numbers for computing processing. As always WS never learned how to look at Tesla. Nothing has changed in the plants or the plans, but Tesla just followed the inversions asking for more information on plans and time lines.
You don't think the fabrication of lower cost vehicles, on existing lines, prior to the unboxed method being figured out, was a surprise?
Using the existing lines will help cash flow. The new lower cost vehicles (Model 2?) is exactly what the market needs. Personal savings are negative. That means cutting costs. Too many people are trapped in car loans that are under-water. That means they are out of the market until they can pay down debt (or default). The only solution is more value and ancillary revenue. In Tesla's case, FSD.
Anyone who doesn't have FSD is doomed as the video noted. Will they buy the *billions* in AI crunching computers? I'll be curious as to Teslas Q2 investment in AI. Now some had to be bought ahead of time, but Tesla is obviously going into a bit of cash conservation. That means only negotiate for Giga Mexico (too many issues for now) and Giga India, for now. I expect *after* the low cost model is reduced Tesla will have the cash flow to move forward with *one* of those plants.

I am surprised how difficult it seems for most people who are strategic investors to understand that Tesla will be the most innovative company in the next decade and with 2 great new products. Robotaxis and Optimus.
Unless you love the roller coaster day trading and shorting and what not Tesla is one of the best investment over the next five years.
You can criticize Tesla or SpaceX as much as you like, but where to put a part of your portfolio for the next 5 years if not in Tesla? Next to NVIDIA there is right now no other serious company not to talk about public company that has anywhere near such scalable innovation potential. 1 tn each for E-Cars , FSD and Optimus. It is the latter two which have 2x and 3x that potential.

Proactive is tesla ! When was the last time we heard vehicle OEM doing what needed to get back on track ? Oh ya I forgot (lol) run to (don't take a vehicles ya may not make destination) president/governing states ask for tax money keep their nose above water as we know won't last long.yes sad to see numbers coming down across the board are we not happy tesla taking action NOW good times will come again for this proactive road warrior.

Tesla is doing about as well as Boeing but without the advantage of selling weapons at ginourmous margins.
Once the free FSD trial period is over, what if Tesla "paid" FSD 12 users something like $1 to $10 per "disengagement" that was a result of an FSD error or potential error? If that was available then I would gladly pay $100/month to continue putting FSD thru various scenarios and report results. Over the past 3 weeks I have used FSD 12 about 100 times and had at least one forced a disengagement on 80% of those drives due to a "questionable" FSD behaviour. I know what a Tesla is doing with the data it receives including the verbal descriptions for each disengagement and I am very curious to see if some of my particular issues were addressed in the 12.3.5 release that I hope to get soon.

Oh and I still ownTesla stock for over a decade with an average share price of under $25.00. I’ll hold it as a long term stock in my portfolio, but Musk has to deliver on what he said in the earnings call, he’ll not get any more “passes” from the institutional investors.
The EV depreciation situation is so bad and not even Tesla escaping it. Only solution is much longer and better warranties. 10y/100.000miles. manufacturers used to give great warranties they suck now. Elon need to put money where mouth is and stop treating existing customers like dirt.

Tesla is a great engineering company, however its product planning is horrible. They started with the model S, when no one is buying large sedans, then came out with the model 3 when no one was buying midsize sedans… genius!!! Then came out with the model X, which could of been great, but is overly complicated and basically an answer to a question no one is asking. Then finally the model Y, which is a great vehicle in the sweet spot of the market, but let’s just keep the styling exactly the same for numerous years…really, you are that dump Tesla. Then the Cybertruck, a vehicle that looks like it came from a 1980’s science fiction movie. Again, great engineering, but extremely poor product planning.
If sales are down it’s a good time to revamp. Super smart!
I took Elons statement to mean that they will build the $25,000 car initially on existing lines using only part of the unboxed method and that later on they will build the same car using the fully unboxed method in the new factories
