“Like pissing in your pants- it might warm you for a little while”, LOVE it Lars, awesome. Great job as always.
The NEW FSD is Mind Blowing! MULTIPLE NON INTERVENTION DRIVES - in South Florida!❤🙏🌎😊
When Tesla delivery results were announced, no one mentioned that Tesla had EIGHT shiploads in transit. That can be up to 80,000 cars on their way to delivery!!!! Three were making their way around Africa because of the red sea conflict. I'm looking forward to the Q2 deliveries.
My revivifier plans to drive a Model Y to England - from Nova Scotia 😂
@@FrunkensteinVonZipperneck --- By The "Direct Route" via Toronto, Saskatoon, Anchorage, Russia, Germany, France, and finally: England?
And Arson in Berlin stopped the Giga Factory plant for a week or two - no mention of this. And Shanghai shut down to retool for Highland (stated over six months ago) nothing about this either. Anyway, I have bought 30 more shares - happy days!!!
They missed their Q1 shipment goals because of lack of demand NOT because shortage of products. So fires and port issues have NOTHING to do with Telsa missing their quarterly shipments.
@@Jetter638 In the UK there are only 26 pre configured for delivery Model 3s available in the whole Country, with less than 100 Model Y. Clearly this isn't a demand issue. Bloomberg might lie but math doesn't. Any legacy auto would kill for those low inventory numbers. Just forcing dealer networks to buy your product whether they have a customer for it or not does not mean there is no demand issue. Cars on lots in America have just exceeded three million and will be four million before the end of the year. That's a demand issue.
Those Silverado’s still use pouch cells
GM has learned nothing
This is why Dealerships see no demand for EVs. GM has learned nothing, but consumers have. They know it is bad. GM builds dangerous bad EVs. Word is out. Everyone knows.
GM stopped using pouch cells with the new platform . After all those cars that got recalled a couple years ago and they changed the platform it uses cylinderical battery cells .
Αt least the Silverado EV has 460 miles of range....
@@Seventh7Art Vaporware has 460 miles if range. The truck is not mass produced. Prototypes are easy. Production is hard.
They learned well how to trash EVs. Waiting for another " don't park within 50 ft" announcement.
Leading only at crushing EVs
Heavy rain: I was driving in heavy rain on a freeway with a lot of spray and some fog. I was amazed at how well the cameras see through all the stuff that my eyes could not. I could barely make out any lane markers on the wet road surface but the cameras had no problem. Kind of like IFR flying.
Hunh. I drove in light mist, and had FSD sound warning alerts, put up "FSD limited due to poor visibility/poor weather" notifiers, and cut its maximum speed to 10MPH below the posted limit, which the human drivers zooming past me were still exceeding.
@@levenkay4468 - I would get those warnings too occasionally but the specific time I mentioned, I did not have FSD engaged and was just looking at the display.
One thing I do get quite often is that the door pillar cameras get blocked due to condensation between the lense and the pillar glass.
The cameras can see thru the rain cuz they can choose their depth of focus (based on FSD’s vision needs), while humans have difficulty seeing past a mid-distance obstruction like raindrops on the windshield. I lost my wipers once and realized that, with relaxation effort, I could see my wanted longer distance by “ignoring” the raindrops - with significant mental effort. Sure wouldn’t want to make a habit of it. 😮
who thinks Ford will be the first OEM to license FSD from Tesla?
It seems obvious to many since the two have been cozy and Ford was also first legacy oem to adopt NACS. Hat off to Mr. Farley.
Not me. Why give FSD to the second biggest polluter in the world?
How does that advance the mission? FSD should be EV only.
BYD would be sensible.
First OEM to go bust?
yeah, they will be. All others will be more like 'not invented here' while Ford management at least seems to be able to go where the smart money of their customers will go, so they follow..
"who thinks Ford will be the first OEM to license FSD from Tesla?"
It depends on whether Tesla solves FSD before Ford goes bankrupt. Ford could also surprise and change their game plane once again.
My 2019 model 3 replacement car came with FSD and each update is a noticeable improvement. It will be superhuman before the end of the year, and is right now better than most of the drivers I see on a daily basis.
“superhuman?” Meh. What’s so great about humans? Dolls rule!
No it isn't. I have FSD and I can't use it for more than a couple minutes before it does something really stupid.
I remember when I got my 2019 Model 3 and it was a very different car to the one it is now - all through OTA updates (which no one else has figured out) - the car has had constant revisions and updates. More power, smoother delivery, different interface.

Hybrids is like pissing your pants!! Love it.
Worst of both worlds
@@ellenroehl6022 I've always called hybrids the worst of both worlds my son in law drives a hybrid bmw 3 series and my son drives a dual motor long range Model 3.
I thought Ford sales were up because they cut prices, incurring even bigger losses. Hybrids are a siren song for legacy auto and Big Oil - they get to keep their manufacturing lines without major and costly retooling (same with their suppliers and supplier contracts), their dealer model especially service remains intact, and Big Oil gets to keep their supply chain.
The end is near
@@frederickfaller899- Ford is having their own "April 8th Eclipse" Moment!
... in the short run.
Farley's decision is the only one possible for Ford. If you have the UAW, dealerships, no software expertise, and inability to create innovative production that lowers cost, you can't produce quality EVs at competitive prices. So why should we expect them to do something that causes them to lose money on a grand scale?
In 5 years there will be no ICE car market, it will be like 5% of today
Next Gen is coming for Ford too, possibly profitable. It's not easy.
Tesla FSD is second to none in my book, but the World auto regulators are still old school. Tesla FSD will be 100% adopted by "GENERATION BETA". Ford and GM are capitalizing on the current and Generation Z.
A GENTLE push-back for James’ comment - with his points being entirely VALID. However, a 1-2 year delay will put them way, way behind in the race for survival, and that IS what we see here. Many knowledgable people do not favor PHEV’s due to two systems, each having extra complexity-in-marriage. Also, Ford IS NUMBER ONE! in RECALLS; these are not OTAs, and many are Work Trucks. No Truck, no money. Not sure they have done PHEVs before, either. New models of ICE often have teething problems. . .much less, “. . .and now - for something COMPLETELY NEW!” 👍🏿👍🏿❤️ Love this channel!
Suddenly, out of nowhere, I've seen 3 cybertrucks in my area (Houston TX).
uh... out of Austin? It's what... a 3 hour drive?
@@petersilva037 I don't think distance matters as far as order of deliveries, but, yes, maybe 2 1/2 hours.
What is the situation with buying cars directly from the OEM in Texas? Is it no longer illegal? How do people get around that?
@Hardwaregeekx you pick up the car in Texas, go to tax office and pay your own sales tax and registration fee and get your tags. Technically I purchased my Model Y In California because that's where the sale is processed but it's all transparent to the buyer.
@@ellenroehl6022 So what you are saying is that as long as you say you bought it in CA, you can actually buy it in Texas. So who do you pay taxes to? TX or CA?
An aside to consider is that with higher interests rates and stupid price tags on vehicles, a lot of people are delaying purchases of new cars and trucks either EV or ICE.
70k work trucks?! Nope 👎
1964 annual income 6k plus and a C10 long bed pickup fleetside was 2k. 1/3 of median income.
A truck at 50k plus means that the median annual income should be 150k while in 2024 income is closer to 50k. This is a big issue.
Fords move is Fords end as a car company.
Tesla FSD is second to none in my book, but the World auto regulators are still old school. Tesla FSD will be 100% adopted by "GENERATION BETA". Ford and GM are capitalizing on the current and Generation Z.
RIP Ford.
B forevth second bailout lately
99K Bravo!!!! So VERY Well deserved.
Great show! Yeah it is time to cull the herd, many manufacturers are being eliminated from the EV market. In order to survive, I predict that most of the major legacy auto manufacturers will license Telsa operating equipment (motors, batteries, control systems, mobile OS, FSD, etc.) and just put their own brand on it.
Tesla was down on deliveries 8.5% based on Wall Street estimates. They were actually down 12.5% on vehicles produced. Tesla tries to export vehicles produced during the early part of the month to minimize the effect of goods in transit. Vehicles in transit are not considered
as having been sold. Because of headwinds early in the month of March 2024 such as the shutdown in Germany due to an arson attack on the electricity supply infrastructure, the partial shutdown due to changes in the production of the new Model 3 upgrades and disruption and delays in supplies due to the pirate attacks in the Red Sea, Tesla did not deliver all vehicles that were produced.
Governments messing in markets has so distorted any common sense from companies they deliberately implode for taxpayer money as a business model, it is disgusting.
Yeah, but - Gov is only messing in markets ON REQUEST by the incumbents in that market to shield them from the competition, so they can maximize profits.

I would think the licensing of FSD in other OEM's cars would be predicated on those vehicles having the necessary cameras

I think Mary Barra is confused. I believe that what she meant to say is that 2024 is the year of excuses, not execution.
Haha very good

TESLA only company in WORLD with over +6million ROBOT cars on Roads.
The demand has collapsed had a link for context that showed all competitors inventories were larger and growing faster.
Not ready for Robotaxi yet but getting very very close.
Wait, Mary Barra knows how to drive a car? Wow!
Only GM cars if she ever drove a new Tesla her world would change
Has anyone considered or addressed the effects of FSD on the auto insurance industry? If FSD will dramatically lower the possibility of collisions between autos, and therefore the much-lower likelihood of injuries of drivers/passengers, should not the cost of auto insurance plummet? Not to mention the effect it will have on the blood-sucking personal injury attorney business.
Yeah I’m really looking forward into a deep dive on predictions about this. If is insurance IS FSD (because by not using it make you liable) auto insurance will be decimated
They won’t take that lying down
You are the bestin my opinion! Great presentation style.
Solar roof can go a long way with vampire drain. I guess the reason Tesla doesn't add it to their cars is because of people's unreasonable expectations of what 100-200W solar panel can do.
Joe T. thinks they are making about 150 cybertrucks per day/ 750 per week.
I bought the dip…💰
"This will be like pissing your pants" LOL
Thanks for keeping on top of things and letting us know what's going on in the world of Tesla thanks for the slap❤😂❤😂
Do not forget that Tesla own the hardware to run fsd as well. That is a huge advantage.
Hybrid car definition:
Combine the worst parts of ICE vehicles and the worst parts of electric vehicles, should a customer can enjoy the worst of both worlds.
On the other hand the manufacturer and dealers can still enjoy regular scheduled maintenance oil changes filters rebuilds and so on.

Solar Roofs…..Makes sense for Aptera, up to 40 miles/day. 700 watt system. High efficiency vehicle and solar makes sense :-)
My Fsd keeps degrading itself when it rains even lightly
Perhaps, by execution, Barra was actually indicating the uh, "loss of life" of the company,..😮

Tesla FSD is second to none in my book, but the World auto regulators are still old school. Tesla FSD will be 100% adopted by "GENERATION BETA". Ford and GM are capitalizing on the current and Generation Z.
Completely idiotic of Tesla FSD to drive on the curb. The correct action is to do a full stop. Then the responsibility is handed over to the other part.
Looking forward to when FSD goes off-roading 😊
Fisker is dead.
It always was a looser no progress
Brownlee (literally) threw shade on the Fisker solar roof. Aptera uses solar more aggressively. They do seem to make more sense than the way Fisker did it... I'd like to see an unbiased review of Aptera's solar system after a year or more on the road. I hope solar makes a difference in EV use, but it needs more data.
Tesla is pumping out Cybertrucks at a very decent pace. They're showing up in Washington state at a decent rate. Last weekend I was at a dining establishment. As I was parking I saw a couple leaving a Cybertruck. A guy that approached the driver didn't even know what the vehicle was. When I left they were in the parking lot doing an impromptu car show.
Tesla needs to lower the price of the S and X models and roll out the interior lighting refresh.
The research and development costs as well as the manufacturing equipment costs should have been written off by now.
Their costs a lower so they should lower the selling price. This will increase demand for the S and X.
Model s and X are great cars. Tesla needs to price them to sell. Many people are waiting to buy until the interior lighting refresh comes out.
Very good episode
The reason >> I
I was driving (limited access hwy) down a long perfectly straight slope at 62 mph when it began to _very lightly_ rain.
I was rapidly passed by a car. It lost control, tumbled, and plowed through the berm *_upside-down._*
That's what happens when you lightly tap on the brakes and the invisible oily road grime combines with a little moisture. Loss of traction, and total loss of steering control. (Ok, he obviously panicked and over-corrected.) Sapient drivers will slow down below the speed limit with _any_ amount of rain. Less traction is a Big Deal.
PS. After pulling over to provide him aid, we together watched another vehicle lose control, tumble, and fill up the cabin interior with loam as it plowed upside-down into the sloped berm right to the tree line.
Damn surreal watching two different cars spin like tops, skidding on the rear bumper, while headlight beam pairs rotated like spindles collecting the fog...
I saw a Chevy Blazer, and it was nice looking, but substantially more expensive than a Tesla, so I am not sure what they are thinking 🤔
What about the owners of cars built in 2017 that paid for FSD in 2020?
New technology comes with challenges
90 NEW E,V, models this year. Jaquar Mercedes BMW . Tesla offering 0% financing as of friday. Glad you do not care about stock price. That will help next 12 months
What OEM will go bankrupt first? Will it be an American OEM or a Japanese OEM?
Thanks!
Thank YOU 🫵🙏🙏🙏
The Silverado will be extremely heavy as it has that huge hummer battery pack in it. This means that while it can tow a lot, it won't be able to carry a lot of payload and still comply with federal regs on vehicle classification. My guess is that it will be rated only able to carry a load in the bed of 1500 pounds or even less (compared to a Cybertruck's 3500 pds). There will also be a restriction on the trailer tongue weight that it can take. Unfortunately this bit of information doesn't seem to be anywhere I've looked, especially on Chevy's website!
At least they solved the DC fast charging problem that Ford has with the Lightning. I also love the midgate bed extension.
Tesla stock 2,000 2027.
2900$ in year 2030. Warren Redlich
IMHO 12.3.3 already drives better than Humans if considering humans do not drive at their peak all the time 24/7. It would be interesting having a situation where only FSD enabled cars are allowed to drive in a certain town. Expect car accidents to drop to the point that human drivers will soon be banned from high traffic areas.
I saw a driver jam on the brakes - AFTER passing a police car stopped at the side of the road, all lights flashing. Cray. With a capital Zee!
A test zone is an interesting idea, but I suspect that the legal ramifications are complex.
I don’t know how I ended up here. I hate electric cars, will go as long as possible not owning one.
as I've said before Tesla advertising is a waste of money go figure
They are among the best already
Lars, you are the only man on Earth, certified to do the TeSLAP!

Thanks Tesla team
If the cybertruck put a battery the size of the silverado it would go over 500 miles easy. But they didnt . And if gm makes enough they will sell ever one of them . Even if it loses masive money in the begining. That range is going to sell trucks.
It's difficult to believe Tesla's explanation on deliveries when they manufactured more cars than they sold. Combine that with the significant price decreases and one needs to wonder if there isn't something more fundamental going on.
& ALL this with horrible information, bad communication & ABSOLUTELY NO MARKETING!!! & Add shitty customer service!!
OEM's don't seem to get it, all their vehicles are all obnoxiously expensive and too technical. I'd rather drive a model Ford "T" with manual transmission any day. It's just plain and simple to fix and maintain.
How is it that hummer out sold Silverado, isn’t it more expensive?
FSD: $12,000 for the privilege of babysitting your car while it drives as opposed to driving it. I really do not understand rich people.
It takes one to know one
Supervised FSD doesn’t work well. It doesn’t read road signs to slow to the lower speed limit. It doesn’t go to the correct lane when the road forks because it doesn’t read the road arrows. So I had to disengage constantly on each trip. It needs more work.
Youre not worried. OK. it's the Red Sea..
Ford’s pissing themselves **is a business strategy** 😂
Is Fisker worth buying if you’re Ford or gm? Their software is awful but it exists. Are those devs worth bringing in?
If so, would they stay to work at Ford or gm?
All the most talented software devs have 5-10 excellent companies competing for them. Detroits 3 are not even in the top 20 job placements of those people I’d imagine.
How do they solve that?
Should we start talking about legacy and others licensing Tesla’s OS for lack of a better phrase? I called it ‘whole car OS’ to make it sound like a smartphone’s which is a great analogy.
Hi Lars, greetings from the U.K. Thanks for another great video. Q1 2024 was not a great month for Tesla numbers, but as you point out, taken in the context of the whole car industry it was pretty good. What is interesting is that the previous trend continues; combustion car sales are falling and EV sales are rising. Here in the U.K. BEV sales were double the sale of diesel’s in Q1, this alone is great news!
The good thing about Tesla is their industrial advantage. Tesla has a massive lead in industry. They can make expensive cars very cheaply so they can lowe the prices even further and still make a good profits. That's ofc if Tesla feels the preasure and need to sell more cars. The only issue is while Tesla has the biggest and most productive factories in the world, they are very few factories. If VW closes 1 factory, it won't make much of a change. If Tesla does that, well we see the results. 1 factory was attacked and the other is bottlenecked by the conflict.
Sold Vs. Shipped! BAD #flawed playing with numbers. Very 1950's of them
Having a hybrid is like wetting your black pants - you get a warm feeling, but nobody notices !! 😮
What about the maintenance
167 comments and I am the only person upset about this ! Am I living in Cartoon World ? !
FSD is not "plug-and-play", because auto-update is not yet capable for other EV brands, except in China, and Tesla is already 'operational' in the Chinese network. The 'shortcut' is, of course, an 'app' on cellular phones for data-translation' to each brands hardware/software architecture. Almost like NACS with the plug, but eventually a 'chipset' that includes FSD compatibility($) PS - USB connectivity-mandate for security, right👍😎 USB EV-Connect w/Starlink 'personalizes' every car with every driver, and their 'profile'(...?)
Ross has lost it.
I love your program. Please understand my negative outlook on Tesla FSD. Tesla FSD is second to none in my book, but the World auto regulators are still old school. Tesla FSD will be 100% adopted by "GENERATION BETA". Ford and GM are capitalizing on the current and Generation Z.
Regulators can't really stop people from using it though, kind of like they're powerless to stop pewpew acquisition or recreational substance use.
What @maxflight777 said!! I think the aliens were from California!
In Tesla's case any sign of falling demand is a good sign, as the prices will follow suit. And we need the prices of EVs to go down :)
Buy the stock maby you’ll get the car for free?
@@frederickfaller899 I have one already, happy with it.
I don't know if the solar failure on the Fisker is evidence that solar in general doesn't make sense on cars. I mean, how efficient is the Fisker compared to, say, a Tesla? How efficient are the solar cells themselves? How efficient is the connection between the solar cells and the battery? How many miles _would_ you get from a better, more efficient car, with better solar cells and better solar integration?
why no Cybertruck numbers?
Hybrids make sense for a lot of people who are renters and can’t easily charge an EV, but this is only for the short run and in the long run these companies pushing hybrids now will probably be losers in the EV market of the future.
Wrong I live in a apartment and charge our Tesla 100% of the time at a supercharger to 80% and it’s not a problem and no loss of range after 2 years love our Tesla M3 dual motor AWD.
I'm not quite sure if we can count a tesla's navigation on this construction dirt road as intelligence. I think this intelligence is only as good as the circumstances we create for the AI to make rational decisions on pursuing a given route. In this example the construction workers made a clear path of cones on each end the AI cam use as waypoints. But I have also been on construction dirt roads where the first and last part are part of a transition from dirt ro asphalt at the beginning and end of the construction, with no cones inbetween or even in the middle lane. I wonder if Tedla AI can figure that one out based on oncoming traffic and transition from dirt to ditch ground as only orientation points. It might be edge case, but still onteresting this way to find out if we can call this artificial intelligence or smarter use of surrounding data in more dynamic algorhytms. I wonder what definition Tesla uses to define the term artificial intelligence. It is highly interesting to see this edge case of dealing with oncoming dominant traffic and more common road construction scenarios. Whichever the future of autonomous driving does seem to look brighter. I think this technology in my view has a lot of potential to be a great insurance policy to maintain normal mobility for the growing frail elderly that can not drive or keep their drivinglicense anymore but can use Tesla's autonomous driving technology to still get around to doing their shopping, activities and family visits. Happy times for the upcoming future and enjoying our pensions😊.
It looks like FSD drives better than humans. I wonder when most people will accept self driving cars.
Such a google tacit. Data is gold. The product cost is aluminum.

Lars i like your new base layer but I already have something with thousands of small holes - my wallet
Other manufacturers would gave to buy the underlying computer that runs the Tesla vehicles in addition to the FSD for it to do what Tesla vehicles can do. Otherwise, they will be limited to only FSD, but that's good enough for them anyway.
Lars the fashion model.
Says the Tesla stock holder....no bias here.
Elon should leave Tesla to a new generation of auto-tech leaders and concentrate fully on AI and his other start-ups ... this seems logical and necessary to me.
You also need to consider the real numbers. Ford loses $19,000 on each EV sold, GM loses around $16,000 as well. Tesla makes $9,000 on each EV. Also, consider regulatory credits. Car companies that still make ICE cars have to buy these credits from companies like Tesla that Only make EVs. This costs them hundreds of millions of dollars. They buy these credits to keep their business open and legal. This is why all car ads are for EVs these days. Not because they want to, because they have to. Ford stated EV sales were down, they were partially right. Their EV sales were down as World demand was up. Any car companies still making ICE cars are litterally hanging themselves as long as they continue making ICE cars.
Would prefer if Elon only integrated FSD into BEV and not hybrids or ICE.
Tesla doesn’t manufacture ice or hibreds only BEVs
The OEMs will wait for Tesla to lead the way and get regulatory approvals for FSD to completely automate driving with no human intervention needed.
Only then will they license FSD for their own customers to take advantage of. Some of their hesitance is due to having to redesign their cars to have the same camera locations as well as pay Tesla for the AI chipset that must be there. This is a proprietary chip that only Teslas have currently.
