      With retinol it probably so, but other retinoids shouldn’t be applied to undereye because it’s toxic to the tearbags , that keep our eyes hydrated. Damaging this thing ain’t reversible. The second thing is our skin around eyes and mouth is very thin and sensitive, so most retinoids will be overkill here and will cause more harm than good. I remember I touched my eyelid, which already had some eye cream on it, with my finger I smashed my tret on skin; it gets so irritated and almost like burn, it took me 3-4 months to fully recover and stop itching

      You won't be wasting product since your beard will benefit from the skin moisturizer as well, apply your moisturizer right after you wash your face, make sure you are massaging the moisturizer through your beard, if you are acne prone use a beard conditioner after, if you have normal to dry skin beard oil will keep your beard looking healthy, smelling nice and also will help with the dry patches on your skin, oh and grooming at least once a week will give you a more luscious beard, trust and believe, I've done this for the past 10 years and have gotten many compliments from lots of barbers and random strangers! You may even go through a "purging" phase but don't give up on it! You'll see long term results, especially after the first year. Be consistent and patient and go low and slow, working up your tolerance to it.

      Sometimes applied over moisturizers.
      You will know (feel) when you're not tolerating it well, in which case take a day or two off or apply over moisturizers.
      6 months into it and results are incredible.

      hi! esthetician student here :) using retinol at your age isn’t a bad idea. it’s great for promoting cell turnover. i’ve used it while having acne and in my experience it’s helped with that a lot! it’s also just great to use as a preventative measure for aging. the sooner you use retinol the better. but be sure to start off using it once a week then slowly using it more as your skin gets used to it.

    • @LoveABun
      @LoveABun ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many dermatologists say it’s ok to mix tretinoin with a bit of gentle moisturizer. This would help it spread more easily. Or, it wouldn’t hurt to spread a thin layer of face moisturizer on your face before applying tretinoin. There haven’t been enough studies showing one routine is better than the other. That’s why dermatologists differ in their instructions. Do what works best for you.
