I just subscribed to your channel. I like the S197 mustang fastback platform with the LS engine package. Makes for a great Drag n Drive car. One day I hope to get one for a daily driver.
I actually did a whole new fuel system with a fuel cell and a Holley pump but I would think for a mild cam LS the stock pump would at least get you up and running
Do you know the driveshaft length?I'm building one very similar to this. I'm hoping I can use a stock length driveshaft from .older stang or camaro. Thanks just subd
I have a video about the wiring that will hopefully clear that up, and the trans crossmember I had to make an adapter I think I’ll make a new video on that soon. All you need for the front is a low profile oil pan to clear
I ran a holley terminator x max, if you’re asking about they “key on” from the harness I ran that to a switch for a few reasons, I could make a vid about that this weekend explaining the wiring
What's all done to the engine? did you get it built?, I'm working on a 5.3ls build for my old s197 and not sure what I wanna do yet, did you get a rebuild?, and how much miles is the motor pushing?
I built it myself, engine is a LC9 aluminum block 5.3 that had around 190k miles on it I believe. Didn’t even open the bottom end other than dropping the pan to change the oil pump, Truck Norris cam, lifters of course, upgraded rockers, all from BTR. (Cam came as a kit with springs and pushrods)
@@NexusRacingChannel I’m getting a kit with basics not building a race car just need a project to work on so the price to performance seems sort of worth it
The Mustang crossmember and 6l80 mount were left alone but I added an adapter plate, since the 6l80 mount is a single bolt in the center, and the Mustang crossmember has a big hole in that area
Short answer, no. With the 6 speed Holley control it asks you a series of questions like tire size rear gear ratio and stuff and from that it gives you basic options like a stock or performance option and let’s you change shift points with the handheld scan tool it comes with but in the computer software it allows you to do in depth tuning
I got one made locally, the length isn’t too far off but the mustang driveshaft has the weird slip joint in the middle and I didn’t want to deal with that. Otherwise I’d have put the proper slip yoke on and tried it
Just subbed, i have a cammed 5.3 LS looing to throw in my 05 mustang. Also gonna run the 6L80 trans Could you pleaseeee give me Your driveshaft setup? I want to call a custom drive shaft shop and get one made so i can have my baby running by summer!
6l80 fits way better than a 4l60. I would recommend a company called Full Torque Driveshafts. They are priced very fair from my findings and they ship it ready to bolt up. I used the factory rear end flange with a 6l80 slip yoke. Once you get everything mounted just get the length and they make the order process easy. I swapped to a 4l60 though I had tuning issues with my 6l80
Yep, I had a 4l60 beside it and it looks like the “center line” of the 6l80 is higher up. The case also tapers down faster and smaller than the 4l60 just from the looks of it
doing the lords work🙏🏽
New fan thank you
🙏 gracias
@ thanks for the reply I’m doin the same job

I appreciate the Sub and I agree the s197 platform is a good daily and is set up great to make some decent power
This is awesome I’m putting a 5.3 in my s197 soon
That’s wassup man, I hope I can take some guess work out of it for you
What about the drive shaft did you change it or the stock one fit
So I’m thinking about swapping my LS out of my grand marquis into a 2011 Ford Mustang do you think it’s possible?
Hey so for the fuel pump did you upgrade or use the stock v6 fuel pump
I actually did a whole new fuel system with a fuel cell and a Holley pump but I would think for a mild cam LS the stock pump would at least get you up and running
did you keep the same 7.5 rear end or did you upgrade to the GT 8.8 ?
Currently it’s still the 7.5 but I have an 8.8 on deck now so I’m going just gonna send it
What wiring harness did you use?
It’s all from Holley, I made a video that went over it if you want to check it out
MY GOD WHERE HAVE YOU FREAKING BEEN!
Probably at work🥸

From the face of the rear end flange to the back of the output shaft was 4ft 5.5 inches. And thanks for the sub G🙏
Thanks brother appreciate you
what did you do about the wiring and the computer I like to do that to my 05 mustang also did you have to change your cross member

Where did you get the wiring harness ?? & PCM ?
Harness is all Holley, all the computer is also. Only Mustang stuff that’s left is for the body of the car, such as lights and signals and stuff
Did you run the holley?? and if you did or didn’t, how did you wire your ignition??
I ran a holley terminator x max, if you’re asking about they “key on” from the harness I ran that to a switch for a few reasons, I could make a vid about that this weekend explaining the wiring
@@NexusRacingChannel that would be hella helpful thanks!!
@@NexusRacingChannelI'd love to see a video about that!

How did you modify the transmission mount?
The Mustang crossmember and 6l80 mount were left alone but I added an adapter plate, since the 6l80 mount is a single bolt in the center, and the Mustang crossmember has a big hole in that area
any transmission tuning required for the 6l80?

Change out that ground
Terrible trans.junk, aluminum drums.
It’s no longer in the Mustang anyway but that’s interesting I didn’t actually know about the aluminum drums
Sounds awful.
I like this guy already, stick around when I start selling merch I want to send you the first package. On the house😎
Can't hear you
