    The brilliance of Shanmugam who was an accidental lawyer for he switched to law because there were less lessons. LKY once said he is paid more as a lawyer than as a minister. It is a big sacrifice for him. What a treat when he takes on a British subject who thought his queens English will do him a favors.

    If you delete an app, they're supposed to delete your data. But what about Cambridge Analytica? How many variations of the app did they use? Was it just a survey?
    A major breach of trust is an understatement. Facebook wanted it academic, Cambridge Analytica said it was using it for their purposes. According to the question, Facebook representatives believe their answers didn't have to be responsible and more full in answering. Zuckerman should have been there answering and taking the heat since one of his Board members gave Trump money.
    The Gentleman nailed him. He knows he's not dealing with a reasonable person. And what they know now is not what they knew. Media gave them the heads up.

    K Shanmugam single-handedly made FB look incompetent and pathetic, so many hindsights, ‘should have’s and ‘should not have’s for handling an issue so synonymous to big tech. It sounds stupid when you’re talking about a billion dollar top tier tech company. You’d think FB could at least afford top policy-makers that could make appropriate calls and judgements on major issues.

It was no minor issue, and students being informed on such a last minute basis (on release of results)made it impossible for them to retake the paper , despite given the opportunity, as application for University was so close to release of results. Just my two cents

  • @hawkenfox
    @hawkenfox 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In my mind, this is a strange scenario. Now no one forces the users of Facebook to sign up for their services. If you really want privacy don't use social media, and if you use it then only post information you are willing to lose. Now signing up for an account on the internet may require identifications, make sure that that identification - if important to yourself - is not given up. Yes, Facebook in all its capabilities should protect the user's rights and privacy, but are they obligated? Not really. You see in business it's a two-way relationship, on that note every relationship is two-way. If relationships are a one-way street then it would be like a dictatorship. Facebook did not force anyone to signup for their services by force with a gun in their face. Users of Facebook should and must also bear the consequences of using that service. What Facebook should not have done is to insist that it has a sole moral obligation to do that. Now after Snowden, we know that mass surveillance is a capability of national security agencies. How is that not a breach of privacy? I think it's unfortunate that in this political climate, nations are using Facebook as a scapegoat to cover their own mistakes, which is mass surveillance, and fail to recognize they are calling the kettle black.
    People naturally blame others when things go wrong, and fail to blame themselves for their own voluntary actions. When trust is breached it's the responsibility of both parties. If no one signs up for Facebook accounts how can there be a breach of trust? No trust would have been breached at all. So humanity has yet to learn how to own their own mistakes, pretty simple, isn't it? And this show is a political one, in all honestly not totally fair for a public company like Facebook. I don't use their service because I understand the danger of it.
