I made the decision to quit my profession when i just reached the peak of my profession(am 1st batch software postgraduate in engineering) at the age of 52. It has been 18 years since. The 120kmph drive which Abhijit mentioned around 2:42 was on the Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR). And yes, it's a 8 lane ring road. However, that's not the centre of the city. You can find skilled workers from U.P or Bihar in tier 2 or tier 3 cities in Telangana atleast mainly as carpenters and construction workers, not much but they are definitely there. I have always liked Mr Ranganathan, but he was wrong when he said migrants will not be allowed to go to Andra or the South, for that matter. People who are coming from outside don't generally give 2 cents about the culture of the land. This is a major issue with cities. Bengaluru now has more than 55% of its population from outside, people who were not born there, and clearly, the monuments are buried, and no one is bothered about them. Until and unless people feel it's their land, they will not make the effort to retain it, forget about making it better. We are already losing a lot to Western culture.

India needs its own e-mail system, Payment processing (not Visa, MasterCard), own Mobile & computer Operating system (like Abhijit said a version of Android/ Linux- these are open-source systems that India can create its own versions from), search engine (not Google), social media (instead of Twitter, TH-cam) & messaging systems (WhatsApp), eCommerce etc. Even if they're not popular to begin with, for National Security, these are a must to fall back on, incase of War/ emergencies

I made the decision to quit my profession when i just reached the peak of my profession(am 1st batch software postgraduate in engineering) at the age of 52. It has been 18 years since. I am very happy all the way. But had a tough 6 months to make the decision.

As an armed forces officer I can tell that these "senior fellows" have a very shallow understanding about the structure and organization of our services. I could spot atleast two glaring factual errors in mere 5 minutes span. So take the discussion with a pinch of salt.

The 120kmph drive which Abhijit mentioned around 2:42 was on the Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR). And yes, it's a 8 lane ring road. However, that's not the centre of the city. It still takes time within the city from point A to B. However, it is much more simpler as compared to a Bombay, Pune, Bangalore or Gurugram

When i used to say 4 years ago that we needed data hygiene and our systems (Indian interest oriented & pragmatic implementative solution driven approach) i got argument like kya hi hojayega.

You can find skilled workers from U.P or Bihar in tier 2 or tier 3 cities in Telangana atleast mainly as carpenters and construction workers, not much but they are definitely there. Though there is not much impact they have on the culture in tier2 or tier3 cities.

I would just like to say for a common Indian like me, it becomes imperative to boycott a product endorsed by a certain celebrity when the concerned celebrity gives mindless opinion without understanding or knowledge on a subject on any media platform and it can have seriuos repercussions on our country's official stand on any geopolitical issues. After all, we consumers buy the products and thereby the said celebrity earns a handsome amount from our spending.

I have always liked Mr Ranganathan, but he was wrong when he said migrants will not be allowed to go to Andra or the South, for that matter. People who are coming from outside don't generally give 2 cents about the culture of the land. This is a major issue with cities. Bengaluru now has more than 55% of its population from outside, people who were not born there, and clearly, the monuments are buried, and no one is bothered about them. Until and unless people feel it's their land, they will not make the effort to retain it, forget about making it better. We are already losing a lot to Western culture.
same case can be made for all metropolitan cities, including Delhi. If you wanna do business with other states, you gotta allow migrants from outside. Being a part of this country you'll have to allow intermingling of cultures although rampant demographic change within the state could be restricted
