I believe it..a friend of mine owns a 1996 Goldwing Aspencade.... It just clicked over 750,000 miles....never once had an engine or transmission worry with it...they are nearly bulletproof....
I own a 1988 Goldwing and a 2014 Ultra Limited. And well, the Goldwing has 98000 miles and rides like a champ. Truly is more sporty too. Only thing I like more on my Harley is the sound. I like both my bikes (Harley is awesome) but I have to say the Goldwing even though it's much older has all the options + more than today's bikes (except for navigation).
My brother in law used to have a lawn service, and he used to have a little Honda push mower that would start first pull every time, all the time. Hot, cold, last used a day ago, last used a month ago .... it didn't matter. One pull and the thing was humming. That was the early 90's and I still remember, cause it really made an impression with me.
i know someone that turned over a million + miles on a 1500 and it was on a year 2000 after 400000 he had a click in the motor it was still under warranty. I seen the bike with 993600 miles on it. and he did the four corners of the USA in 9 days over 10000 miles .and this is from Minnesota.
Had an 1988 blue 1500 for 7 years. Put 126k on it, sold it to a shipmate who put another 30k on it before totaling the bike. Goldwings are solid and 100 percent reliable. Looking to put one next to my Ultra!
Thanks to Shawn and SRK Cycles I bought a one owner clean 1989 Goldwing classic I freaking love this bike and there’s a video on TH-cam of it thanks again Shawn
I am now on my fourth Aspencade. I have ridden many bikes, I have even had a few different ones including my last Kawasaki Vulcan which was a TON of fun to ride but, I just sold the Vulcan and got an absolute STEAL on a 97 Aspencade loaded up of course, guy had NO CLUE what he had, got it for $1.800!! Can't wait for spring for a long LONG ride.
dont ya love when that happens? i once acquired a kiryakin hyper charger for a 1500 vulcan i had. at the time that same one was still being sold for $300+ and i bought it for $35 from a guy with the same bike. im thinking he didnt know what he had either :)
Sean you should've spent time on the instrument panel to show everything is up and running. Gl1500 is my dream bike even though I just got into the world of motorcycling.
I have owned a 1976 gl1000. A 1982 GL 1100. A 1997 GL 1500. And I currently write a 2000 Valkyrie. I have nothing but good things to say about these bikes. I have also owned Kawasaki Yamaha and Suzuki. I have nothing bad to say about them either. But I will always be a Goldwing fan
depends on the wing. The four banger wings had one carb per cylinder. And if you consider a Valk a wing (it is sorta, same drive train) they had six carbs.
Nice review but if you are going to sell a bike you should know if its a stereo or not under the plastic cover, and you should know how to open it. You should know the price. You should know the year. You are the expert and you want the viewer to see that and not think your just saying hey buy this bike so I can make some money even if I dont know much about it.
Most motorbikes are in a class of their own but as you stated in the V Rod video Sean, " we can make comparisons. " I feel strongly American motorbikes, Harley and Indian for instance have a history steeped in the tradition of our country & it's culture while the same could be said of bikes made elsewhere. I used to be a hardcore Harley guy & wouldn't give another brand a look or the time of day BUT then came the AMF years. You started a debate again, this this time you called the Goldwing King ( OY). Imagine if you will somewhere an old school, long scruffy beard & hair wearin, beer guzzlin, vest with colors, greasy, tattooed & ornery as a 2 peckered goat Road King die hard just squeezed and crunched his breakfast beer can to death at the thought of Goldwing a King.
grandpa5x Pulliam It the Goldwing is not American culture nor will it ever be. When veterans came back from European and Asian combat theaters of operation successfully securing WORLD FREEDOM from aggressive regimes they chose Harley Davidson V Twins & created the "bobber" culture & a biker brotherhood that exists to this day. YOU tell those men & women who fought bravely that their blood, SWEAT and tears created the culture of king gold wing.
Interesting perspective. I tend to disagree. With the ample baggage space, comfy seat, cruise control, stereo, and all the goodies its an excellent tourer. I could tour across the continent on mine. I would like my legs a bit more forward though.
NOT a touring bike?? lol Honda single handidly created the TOURING bike market WITH the Goldwing. There is NO touring class without a Goldwing. YOU must consider ENDURO bikes touring bikes, which they are NOT. True touring bikes have what the goldwing has BECAUSE of the Goldwing lol MORON...
The new Goldwing has an entirely new more powerful motor, completely different front end...no more telescopic forks, rather a wishbone. Electric adjustable windshield, driver floorboards are gone, removable trunk in the tour model, integrated iphone use in the display with voice command to "Siri" (why would you want this? When I had an iphone earlier this year, Siri was a source of complete frustration), bluetooth for Android, and the biggest change is they shaved the height, width and length and lost somewhere between 80-93 pounds. Also, has walking speed foward and reverse with the new optional DCT 7 speed transmission. You can get it with the 6 speed manual also. Test riders have stated the "automatic" transmission is so smooth, there is no perceptible indication of gear changes. It can also be shifted manually. There are driving modes as well such as: sport, economy, tour and rain. I've never owned or ridden one, but it's my dream bike. Even if I sell the three bikes I own now, it's gonna' be out of my price range. I'm guessing at least $25K. This new model may have inspired me to look for an older 1500 or 1800.
I've been riding bike's for 40 years meny of them on a Goldwing starting with a 1977 model. I've seen the wing evolve through the year's . I agree it has meny new features bells and whistles but for me it lacks the character and heritage of a true Goldwing. Its not an update it's a totally new machine more like a computer on 2 wheels copying the B.M.W k1600
I think it was made in response to bikes like the K1600 and FJR 1300. Everyone these days wants tech and everything has to run off iPhones and bluetooth and computers. I really like some of the updates on the new Goldwing. I like the electric windshield and the new transmission. The new engine gained very little extra horsepower. They did lose about 85 pounds which is great. Things I didn't like are reducing the size of the fuel tank. The Goldwing needed to get more distance in a tank of gas but they failed there. They also lost about 40 ore more litters of baggage space to make it look prettier and modern. I believe the front fairing is smaller. They said they moved the rider closer to the windshield so this won't matter. I have yet to believe that. it seems they are trying to get a younger market interested and also make it a bit more sport touring instead of strictly touring. I guess I need.a test ride on one.
You do know that Max has a suspension shop, right?? And EVERY expensive bike that comes out he tears it apart, and miraculously "finds" issues with it. I happen to OWN an 18 Goldwing, and know for a fact that it has ZERO of the issues that he states he "found", ZERO, and I checked on the 4 that I've sold, and what do you know, NONE of those customers have ANY of the issues he has found...
i have had a gold wing and ride my friends,i like them but they sound and ride like a truck. it has nothing on my Electra Glide, and i have had a lot of Japanese bikes.
Pushing 4Better You obviously have never rode one on a road trip. I can ride mine 10 hours no problem. No other bike I’ve ever owned allowed me to ride more than 5 before I was done for the day.
There's a '75 goldwing that hit one million miles this year...in wisconsin
I believe it..a friend of mine owns a 1996 Goldwing Aspencade.... It just clicked over 750,000 miles....never once had an engine or transmission worry with it...they are nearly bulletproof....
I highly doubt the new ones will reach that, not without replacing all the new doodads and whizbangs over time.
There's definitely a Goldwing in my future.
Same
I’m in ✌️
There's a good reason why the wing fires up everytime!! It's a Honda!!!
Same with my 1986 vfr 700f i barely touch the start button and it fires right up
i know someone that turned over a million + miles on a 1500 and it was on a year 2000 after 400000 he had a click in the motor it was still under warranty. I seen the bike with 993600 miles on it. and he did the four corners of the USA in 9 days over 10000 miles .and this is from Minnesota.
gees 9 days! musta been non stop and balls to the wall. i used to live in MN too. redwing area.
I have 3 wings.... 75 being restored, 81 being rebuilt and an 83 aspy being rebuilt as well.
I now want a 1200 aspy sei. Love em.
Had an 1988 blue 1500 for 7 years. Put 126k on it, sold it to a shipmate who put another 30k on it before totaling the bike. Goldwings are solid and 100 percent reliable. Looking to put one next to my Ultra!
same here
This is an old beast, I just got one yesterday 😀😀😀✌️
Thanks to Shawn and SRK Cycles I bought a one owner clean 1989 Goldwing classic I freaking love this bike and there’s a video on TH-cam of it thanks again Shawn
I bought a 98 GL1500 last year with 58K miles. It is an absolute BEAST. Even if I get another bike sometime in the future I'm keeping my wing forever
I'm guessing it starts up real quick and has good throttle response because it's a boxer engine and the carbs shoot straight down into the engine..
Just bought a 1982 goldwing gl1100 interstate my favorite bike by far
What color?
Had 2 1100s...2 1200s..just got my first 1500..88..57000...purrs like a sleeping tiger
Not DTS......DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission - 7 speed). DTS is in your Home Theater.
W Tom c u in hell
Favourite model and color ugh I need 3 of these

I am thinking they were meth heads needing quick cash.
You gotta dump that "click for quote" crap! Post the damn price!
Vive la Goldwing
I have a 1983 goldwing gl1100 aspencade I love it
Sean you should've spent time on the instrument panel to show everything is up and running. Gl1500 is my dream bike even though I just got into the world of motorcycling.
so 2yrs later are you still wanting one or did you get one?
I have owned a 1976 gl1000. A 1982 GL 1100. A 1997 GL 1500. And I currently write a 2000 Valkyrie. I have nothing but good things to say about these bikes. I have also owned Kawasaki Yamaha and Suzuki. I have nothing bad to say about them either. But I will always be a Goldwing fan
It's just like my 89
That's what I did! Bought a 96 st1100 for $3900 and have been across the country three times.
Could be that there only two carbs instead of one for each cylinder. And don't Wings have accelerator pumps?
depends on the wing. The four banger wings had one carb per cylinder. And if you consider a Valk a wing (it is sorta, same drive train) they had six carbs.
My friend in Texas put a Rochester 2 jet car carburetor on his gold wing, you know plumbers.
Oh wow it has a *horn* ?😱
No way.
and a headlight, wow!
Mpg??
It's got a horn (Beep, Beep)! Lol.
Starting on a silverwing to end up on a goldwing
Came for the bike giveaway, but staying for the videos. Love the content dudes
Antone out there willkng to donate a goldwing thatll be great!

+Joseph Howard yet some how it sold without me knowing at stuff. Go figure

Great video!
I love my 2010 GL1800. The 2018??? For me, the jury is still out on the new Gold Wing. I’d buy a2017 before I buy the 2018.
thats the first 1500 ive seen that was so bare bones. no reverse, no cruise control. wtf is the point of buying a goldwing like that?
The 1500 were carbed, so no CC, and reverse wasn't even an option in '91. LMFAO
they are a big cruiser rather than a true tourer, regardless of what they say. Wonderful machine
Interesting perspective. I tend to disagree. With the ample baggage space, comfy seat, cruise control, stereo, and all the goodies its an excellent tourer. I could tour across the continent on mine. I would like my legs a bit more forward though.

😂😂😂, just 😂😂😂
@@covingtonwildman no BMW did in the 60s before Honda was selling bikes in the west
@@joshrandall3632 it's true. All good tourers have light weight and lean angle. It's a cruiser
/\8 track player
Cassette on the 1500s
Its old , no reverse on that bike !
saywen do you have arms on you to push backwards or you built like a mouse lol nothing wrong with the older bikes you probably don’t even ride lol
just park accordingly
I just bought my first bike just happened to be 84 aspacade i love it
Nice old wing guys, not like the B.M.W K1600 looking F6B in drag they are trying to pitch as the new Goldwing now.

It's a Honds let's leave it at that.. when I bought my 2003 Harley my friend was junking his Honda GW. Honda did not have his parts anymore

Yet you can still find parts for them. Weird.
Watch Max McAllister vids on new GOLDWING its an eye opener!! Not so good

It's not a cruiser, it's a touring bike.
i have had a gold wing and ride my friends,i like them but they sound and ride like a truck. it has nothing on my Electra Glide, and i have had a lot of Japanese bikes.
yes ...nice power and options...but!!!!! everything ....except ...feel...and its ugly as hell....and always has been....just sayin!
Good for long trips, I'd love to take one of these from ct to fl. Not so much a sportster or other small cruiser
