This is the Ultimate Goldwing review. Sir you have raised the bar for every Moto Vlogger on You Tube. Your camera and audio work is truly amazing along with a fantastic soundtrack. Honda should pay you for this video and put it on they're web site. I can't think of a better presentation on you tube and I've watched a lot. As far as the new Goldwing goes I love the Sport Touring machine it has become. I had a new 76 Goldwing but was never interested again when it morphed into a Rolling Couch . For those that say the tank is too small I say take a break more often and enjoy the local people and countryside up close and personal. For those that say the bags are too small, carry less and simplify. IT is a motorcycle and there are other bikes and trailers for those that must take it all. But for me Honda has finally peaked my interest once again and at 68 years of age I'm a long way from the younger target group everyone says they're shooting for. I have three motorcycles and when I get two of those sold the new Goldwing just may be the next bike in my Garage ! Ride Safe.Silverbullet

I am definitely agree with what is written word by word till "...must take it all." in this comment. Honda must pay you for this presentation, and work with you for their commercial videos...

At 71 years old, I pretty much mirror your comments. Been riding since I was 14 years old. Owned and ridden many bikes ranging from 250 cc dirt 2 strokes thru most metrics, Ducati’s, Harley’s, Triumphs’s, and a bunch of Honda’s. Liked to loved every one of them. All in all, my 2018 Goldwing Tour DCT is fantastic and the trade offs in some luggage space, etc. are appropriate.

Rick Yount, I’m 70 and have been owning and riding all types of motorcycles since I was 19. I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments. I never would have considered a Goldwing since my Aspencade from many years ago until this one came along. Cheers!

Can I just say the road and the mountains of 🇷🇴 Romania look absolutely beautiful. My heart pounded and I felt the passion for the ride. Beautifully done review, thanks for sharing. I try and ride most every day. Coming up on 7000 miles. I nicknamed my bike “Shanti”. In Sanskrit it means peace. 🙏🏻

i like this way of reviewing bikes. instead of the typical motovlogging, you're showing what the bike looks like when out on the road by using the drone. and to be honest that goldwing looks beautiful in those mountains.

One of The BEST channels in existance, on any medium.
As a Harley enthusiast I love my 2017 Ultra Classic but the Gold Wing is a better bike. Even with the improvements that Harley has made to my bike, the suspension is still not up to snuff and the infotainment system is a joke. (Just try to hook up a Blue Tooth to the system.)
Luggage is better on the Harley, and the Milwaukee 8 engine is total winner but the GW is no slouch in the engine category.
Transmission, the DCT all the way, even a purist like myself can recognize the benefits, especially on a large/heavy bike.

pinkiewerewolf I have two bikes, the Harley Road Glide Ultra and the new Goldwing. The Goldwing is by far, the superior bike. No doubt about it. The Harley is all about attitude. That’s all!

Wonderful video. Thanks a lot! We traveled through Greece during three weeks last summer with this bike. I and my wife really enjoyed the 6000km, mainly in the mountains. This 2018 Goldwing is somewhere between the previous model and the K16GT. I had both and do not regret them with this one.

Lol.. 8:50 - I chuckle at glue excitement with the acceleration but..... This bike really growl# #, I s and pulls forward like a beast. I've only owned Hondas, a cbr 600, cbr 1000rr, two civics and a ridgeline truck.
    Honda loyalist.
Eventually my evolution will end on a gold wing.... And that is still cutting edge powerhouse of a machine.

Hi. Thanks for this review. Very enjoyable to watch. The countryside over there in Romania looks spectacular but to be honest, it scared me more than a little. Where there's snow there's often ice on the roads and I wouldn't feel comfortable riding in those conditions. Love the hairpin bends though, something we definitely don't have over here in Western Australia! With regards the fuel economy. I find the best DCT setting is Economy. It makes a huge difference to fuel consumption. I fill up using 95 RON fuel and get around 5.2L/100Kms which is pretty good. As soon as Tour is selected, the economy drops appreciably. In Sport mode, just forget about any economy at all! Sport mode is scary and not for the faint of heart. I have the Australian base model version without the rear armchair. It looks more like my old 2016 Goldwing F6B Bagger which had it's good points but was archaic compared to the 2018 version. It was huge, heavy, had a rotten clunky manual gearbox and was almost impossible to get on the centre stand. The new Goldwing is so much lighter and very nimble in comparison. The panniers are a constant cause of contention as they'll only fit a smallish size of open face helmet if you know exactly how to position it. Closing the doors with my new Bell full face helmet is impossible. The old Goldwing was definitely far more capacious. Anyway, thanks once again. I'll keep following you. From Western Australia - peace man.

I have a 2021 DCT Gold Wing and also a 2006 Yamaha FJR1300AE (U.S. version). Like the Wing, the FJR has an electronic clutch (not a DCT though). The common thing to both bikes is a "snatchy" feel. So taking off in a slow, smooth fashion is not so easy on either bike. I have discovered that you can slightly drag on the rear brake during takeoff to whatever level of smoothness you desire :)

I've ridden Goldwings for many many years. Other than the topics folks just can't seem to get over and repeat ad nauseam (luggage space etc...) the 2018 model of the Goldwing is exceptional. I've ridden them all - from Indians to Honda, and the 2018 Goldwing is a true work of art. I'll get over the small stuff. LOL

Great move on Honda's part at a sport tour is just what is needed. Normal size windscreen not the 8 foot tall units some people install. Great engine, great styling. Downside is the ridiculous 6 speed when a 4 or 5 would be more appropriate for this torque intense motor. DCT is the only actual choice unless you wish to spend all day constantly shifting. Now if the prices was less than a house...........

I have a GL 1500. You can put two very large full face helmets in the top box. It can carry all I need. I can drive at the freezing point and be warm with the huge screen and fairings alone with the built in hot air vents. Its got a huge seat for both me and my wife. Honda wants to get a bunch of younger people riding and they turned the Goldwing into a sport tourer. People who want a real touring bike are going to start looking elsewhere. They should have given the new bike a bigger tank A bike designed to cross continents should be able to go 400 km or more between stops. They should have taken the 1800 and given it the DCT and power windshield. If you want a sport tourer there are many others to choose from besides the Goldwing. Maybe they should have started making the ST1300 again instead.

    Another wonderful review
you have such a wonderful way of expressing yourself on the Internet
I thoroughly look forward to your videos
most people are getting more range in the tank because of the better fuel mileage but it is still horrendous compromise they made to make the bike looks smaller than it used to be sacrificing obviously carrying capacity for luggage. It would be difficult for two people to go away for 10 days especially if they were in a cold environment and had to take large items with the carrying capacity of this motorcycle... Though I imagine lane splitting would be even more difficult with the width of the old bike. Also, the start/stop option the cars have now is absolutely completely ridiculous for motorcycle because that is going to catch you in a corner one day when the motorcycle thinks it was stopped and the engine cuts out leading to an accident that should immediately be disabled and completely deleted from this and any subsequent bikes

I have started to like the rider's accent. Where is he from?
Also, at 7:10, he says he says -"I am starting to getting used to this bike and I am starting to Love this bike...". This has a different meaning when applied to every bike that we love to ride. It is a love, varying in small degrees, which is meant for only that specific bike...

Try extra thin windproof gloves in cold weather Sounds odd but the heat from grips will travell to your hands better
